Obviously, if it cost less there would be no coal energy plants and windmills would be everywhere. So how is this exactly news? I assumed the theory behind wind energy was that it fed back into the grid, thus lessening the need for coal fired plants to produce the same amount of energy. Not that it would actually cost more than coal produced electricity.

Wait, wind energy costs extra?

Same here, woohoo. Happy Birthday!!!!

Yes. Just as we do for animals who are dying and in agony. We give them a painless death instead of throwing them off a freeway overpass. Only humans are expected to die gasping or screaming, in lieu of their other option, flinging themselves off a building so their skin splits apart, squirting internal organs that have been crushed into jello. I guess humans are just too evil to deserve a painless, dignified death. Edit: Sorry, Wals. My last off-topic post. I didn't mean to hijack your thread. Wow, hyperbole much? If youre going down this road you might as well have gone full monty and used an example of say, the only way to kill oneself is to feed yourself feet first into a wood chipper and spraw your quarter-inch remains over your back yard. Or, alternatively, one could choose a non-messy/painful method but thats not nearly as exciting is it? Ill do you all one better. Because killing yourself is so inconvenient, I propose we not only legalize it but also make a socialized government program to handle it, paid for by the rich.

Lemme just see if Im understanding this right. Suicide is too inconvenient or icky to do by oneselves so now we NEED to have a suicide service, you know, to be humane? MY HEAD ASPLODE!

For lack of a better thread to post this in:

Thats an interesting view Orogun01. Ive wondered what could have caused the mass homosexuality of say, the ancient Greek armies. That had to be a learned activity unless they just so happen to have entire armies of "natural" homosexuals.

Congrats to both of you!

I see. So the release of informant names and the name and location of interests the US considers vital are embarrassing and/or illegal? No, of course not, its to rub national security issues in the US's face. Or, you could just be strawmanning.

I do in fact find the irony hysterical. "Everybodys info is fair game...but mine!" Funny how the story changes depending on which side of the "leak" you are standing on.
-
You mean exactly like he's doing with classified documents? Weird. What? you referring to the stuff he leaked at first that was said to be "not new information"? What are you even talking about? You are complaining that his whereabouts should not be released as that could endanger him when thats exactly the same thing hes doing by releasing 260,000 classified documents. Hence the thread laughing and pointing at him for trying to protect "his" data. Get it yet?

If you cant beat em, join em.

While Im not 100% sure, I believe Kelverin lost his battle with oral cancer and passed away earlier this year. For the last 6-7 years he was part of our fantasy football league and when he didnt report in this year a few of us went looking for him. His real name shows up on an obituary in his home town, his email has been disconnected and calling his telephone results in a different person now answering. Maybe he just took the long walk into the internet wasteland but Im fairly certain hes gone.

D3 is a day 1 buy for me.

The probability of some random hacker figuring out your logon and password is astronomical, no? More likely is one of your addons (does EVE use addons?) or a key logger. One thing that Blizzard (WoW) is very good about is returning gear if you get hacked. It may take a day or two but they get it all back to you.

Ive twice taken a Cessna type propeller plane, once from Boston to Bangor "International" and once from Norfolk to Jacksonville, and both times were a study of sheer butt-clenching fear. Seemingly every little gust of wind can dramatically add to the turbulence.

I'd love to help but Ive always been able to drink on aircraft. Sorry, I got nothing MC. I too am afraid of heights but only the middle heights. Im not afraid of the heights involved in flying or being in a tall building but when I climb on my roof to hang the damn Christmas lights Im freaked out. Or if Im at the top of a ladder. Also, I would never be able to walk out on that glass platform they have constructed that goes out over the Grand Canyon. Well, not without soiling myself.

What you stated earlier is simply a complete misunderstanding of all elements involved. Completely ignorant that this information was not specific to a specific person and place and that there are a large number of people who readily disagree with you on your assessment of what wikileaks has been doing for the past 4 years. Wow, are you even trying? This took almost 10 seconds to Google.

Stay classy Aram.

Good question, I dont know. How much damage do you feel an individual should be able to do before its too much? If there is no legal recourse due to different countries laws do you just let him run amok? I disagree. As I stated earlier, it took a specific service member in a specific location who was willing to sell out his country to a person trying for a famegrab by spreading it around the world. I dont think that many service members would be willing to do that and hopefully the U.S. military will adjust accordingly to ensure it doesnt happen again. So no, your civilian tidal wave of secret data would never materialize. And while they would have to put on a show of handwringing I seriously doubt there would be any serious political backlash over his death.
-
My response wasnt directed at you, I was simply agreeing with that part of his post and backing it up with a study of someone whos diet was terrible (literally eating everything we consider junk food), yet still lost weight for the sole reason of restricted caloric intake.
-
Because that would have the opposite of the intended effect vis a vis stopping future leaks of classified material. How so? This just so happens to be the perfect storm of a U.S. service member who was willing to sell out his country meeting another person who is all to happy to diseminate said information to everyone in the world. I think a bullet would go a very long way in plugging potential future leaks. And just to show I dont discriminate, the soldier should get one too.
-
^Agreed. Its leaks like that which prove this has nothing to do with "full disclosure" or "civil disobedience" and everything to do with trying to make a name for himself while damaging the U.S. I humors me to see people proudly proclaining they support Wikileaks because they think they are "fighting the power". As an aside, not that its legal or moral, but why dont we just send a sniper to put a bullet in his head? End of story.

Im curious why you have so many Warlock toons Tale. It cant be for whatever racial benefit you get so was it just to see the various races starting areas and you just decided to keep leveling them?
