  1. Nah, we just need TRIGGER warnings. Aaahahahahaha...Ill get my coat.
  2. I suppose this thread is getting a little long in the tooth. New thread coming up!
  3. I cant remember, was Congress involved during the whole "magazines cant hold more than x rounds" laws? Maybe "accessories" don't rise to that level of action?
  4. Huh, I didn't know they even did that. With all the popups I get on my mobile games, I'm impervious to such machinations.
  5. Wait....you never even have to have owned the product to begin with!? Mind = blown. Just get your friends together, everyone buy one different program, and then burn the hell out of them to infinity! Now you've got my mind racing. Using Poland as an example, with a population of 37.95M, I wonder how long it would take to make a copy of MS Office for every single resident. It would expand exponentially, 1 makes 2, 2 makes 4, 4 makes 8, etc. The thought of MS looking at their sales records and being all "wtf, weve only sold one copy in the entire country" has me lolling. Oh you wacky Europeans.
  6. How is it tax dodging if you've already paid the recording tax up front? What I really want to know, using the original example of lazy or lost media, how does a person prove that they've ever owned the product being copied?
  7. Let me guess, these payments are also the honor system?
  8. Probably. I just contacted iTunes support to tell them that it is my god given right to get this AC/DC album for free since I have previously owned every title they ever made (I swear). They told me to go piss on an electric fence.
  9. Well that's good enough for me! If Ive ever owned anything ever, I guess I own it into eternity! And let me guess...this is totes all on the honor system. If a person says they owned something at one time it must be true.
  10. So if you don't specifically put yourself in that position, you should be good to go? I swear to god I must have purchased Pink Floyd The Wall a half a dozen times over my life and I always lost, or loaned it out and never got it back. I suppose that's mine for life to freely download?
  11. Its a smart idea. By checking the serial numbers against the known pirated versions maybe they can gather the IP information of the pirates instead of passwords and direct the authorities to the exact locations.
  12. Interesting. What the gold ---> time conversion rate?
  13. Holy moley, half a year wait to see a doctor (probably because its trivial)? But that's just for the free service, right? You can pay up and jump the line if you want to?
  14. Maybe you would have better luck sending your request to: support@obsidian.net
  15. Ug, don't even get me started on religion. If I told you I absolutely believed in the Flying Spaghetti Monster you would look at me like I'm crazy. But you (not you) say you learned about an omnipotent being from a book that's been; mistranslated, misinterpreted and edited over thousands of years to suit the narrative of those in power and people go all *nodnod*. Regardless, I don't think people need to be scooped up, just some standardized testing administered on a semi-regular basis?
  16. Good ole' "mental health issues". Well duh. But the bigger issue is how to ferret out these "mental health issues". What makes a mass murderer? I dunno. Maybe we can take a more proactive stance wrt predicting "mental health issues"? We know that genetics plays a part in this so, again, collecting every single persons DNA at birth would be a good start at building a database. Perhaps an "are you cray cray" test could be administered with approximately the same frequency as drivers license renewals? We cant just wait around for someone to raise their hand and tell us they are utterly unhinged.
  17. Id be interested to read about this if you have any links.
  18. Or drones and robodogs. The students and staff could be identified via facial recognition software and any person not in the datatbase that enters school properties....BAM....a face full of pepper spray.
  19. I cant place the laser gun top row second from the right. At first glance I thought it was the Flash Gordon ray gun but looking at it online, that's not it.
  20. The thought of cops going door to door inspecting gun storage spaces makes me lol.
  21. I would LOVE mental evaluations for drivers licenses. The more people off the road the better!

  23. I think Malc is referring to FOPA.
