  1. It might even have a "two birds, one stone" effect? It would shelter our youth from the perils of gambling and would probably highly curtail companies from using microtransactions because an "A" rating is usually the kiss of death sales wise, right? There would still be games that offered microtransactions for those 1% whales that use them but the majority would go away?
  2. I still haven't figured out how the doorknob got locked...I had just used it to open the door on my way out! I must have unconsciously locked it. Or aliens?
  3. What if games with microtransactions were given an M or A rating (or whatever "adulthood" is in your country)?
  4. Coincidentally, I got locked out of my house yesterday, too! I went to check the mail, which I never do, and closing the door behind me revealed that the doorknob was somehow locked. No jacket, and wearing slippers but luckily my garage door keypad worked (usually has dead batteries). I would have been sitting on the stoop freezing for hours otherwise.
  5. Awesome! That's a program I could get behind being implemented in the US at taxpayer expense. I also like the concept of a "qualification framework". Btw, what's your EQF, if you don't mind my prying.
  6. Elaborate please.
  7. Hmm, the demographic results of a recent survey (in the US) does not support games being purchased primarily by children. Weird. Take a look at the average American gamer in new survey findings. But maybe most European players are minor children?
  8. I honestly have no answer for that post that you would understand.
  9. That's pretty cool! Why wouldn't everyone, that needs it, do it? And unrelated to above, has the conversation now shifted to; "most people aren't living as well at the top earners are"? We've now established that its totally "doable" to live on single or dual incomes and have most of life's "luxuries". BUT! Dude over there has a nicer house and that's not fair! Well, not all people are equal. That's the plain unvarnished truth. Not all people have the same mental acuity or intelligence. Not all people have the same physical capabilities. So is the discussion really that all people should have the same success? Of course there are going to be haves and have not's. I cant even really understand how that's not a basic understanding of life.
  10. Theres at least two rags-to-riches stories just among our regular posters but everything invariably circles back to people not getting enough free hand outs in life. Luckily the world needs ditch diggers too.
  11. Huh, I didnt know that Black Friday only happens in America. Guess it makes sense since were the only ones with Thanksgiving, but I never thought of it.
  12. Titanic Was Found During Secret Cold War Navy Mission.
  13. I just dont like people spreading misinformation about ants and bees.
  14. While were on the subject of being wrong: Do ants ever go to war? The Social Lives of Bees.
  15. Holy crap, you make $8,350.00 / month! I need a new gig.
  16. Only in the most spoiled county in the world, smh. Cause poverty aint no barrier to reproduction in the most populous places on Earth, India and China.
  17. Are you thinking about that girl you met on vacation?
  18. Why I consider it double taxation is; lets say a relative has a pile of loot sitting in a bank account and they die. First of all, they already paid the initial income tax. Then they paid taxes on any interest these monies have accrued over time (which is rightfully considered "new income"). Now they pass this on to their child, and for no other reason other than passage of ownership, the monies are taxed again? Just because? Mind I'm referring to cash money. Physical goods, such as inheriting a house and then selling it, should be taxed as new income, I suppose.
  19. Lol, yeah, I think Wisconsin is the same. At least its a good place to go for illegal fireworks. But just getting outside of Cook county is a big savings.
  20. Because "sales tax" (in the US) is based on the value of a newly acquired product, not on income. Here in Illinois some products have higher sales taxes than others. For example, food and medicine are taxed significantly lower than "non-essential" products. And they REALLY bend you over on "sin taxes" such as booze and smokes.
  21. Do you know what "income tax" means? Here in the US, when you get paid, a bunch of hands are already in your check before you even get it. These values are based on your amount of income: State, Federal, Social Security, Medicare (?). So you see, all your income is taxed right from the get go (except retirement plans, thats pre-tax).
  22. Wat? Politicians "make their money" by publically serving their constituents. You may not like the results, but thats immaterial.
  23. When people die all thier assets are belong to me. What? Its no more stupid than re-taxing assets for 2,3,4 generations.
  24. Charles Manson Dead at 83.
  25. That "income" has already been taxed on the original earner. Now it should be taxed again because it was given to another? If I spot you a $20 for lunch, should you be taxed on it? Its "income" after all.
