  1. Um, the costs will be borne by the very taxpayers who bought the parcels (and the rest of us). "We just paid for the land for this other company and now we will bring the "government" to its knees in an expensive lawsuit. F-YEAH!" R00fles! Im more surprised that people can buy land right up to another country border. I figured there was some buffer of space between countries that was owned by the respective governments.
  2. Agreed. Not a single foot of Trumpwall will be built before he's out of office so any publicity is good publicity. It was also brilliant of them to pass the costs on the their customers. A special cherry on top is them thinking "the government" will pay for the lawsuit.

  4. Cards Against Humanity Buys Border Land Bwahahaha, stupid is as stupid does. It gives me a warm fuzzy when people fall all over themselves to be sassy. BTW, who pays for this expensive lawsuit, the taxpayers? Hmmm...

  6. Is "tanking" new to PoE2? Iirc, front liners were a revolving door in PoE1, offering no resistance to mooks rushing your back ranks?
  7. I was approaching it from "these toons are above and beyond the normal game toons, and could be earned by performing action A or B". Now I realize they were (mostly?) fully available (for little to no effort?) in SWBF1, so I understand why the shift has upset people. As a stand alone model, I have no problem with extraordinary unlocks being earned via grinding or buying coins.
  8. Sorry to hear about your condition, Gromnir. Hopefully it is temporary?
  9. Oooooh, it plays like Overwatch? Everyone is available all the time, just pick a toon (and their associated powers) and jump into a match. I frequently watch my kid play that...always hoarding coins for new skins. Doesn't change the characters abilities at all, purely cosmetic. But would probably be upset at suddenly having to earn coins just to play the character.

  11. So whats the carrot in a game where everything is unlocked at install? How did one improve themselves in SWBF the first?
  12. Ah so everything was free the first game. That makes a difference when there is a large departure from the previous model. Heh, I had to look pidooma up.
  13. Not all "owners" are equal. Perhaps he was further down the totem pole. Just because you put money into a company doesnt mean you "run" it?
  14. Hmm, that's a tough question to answer because I don't consider it an apples to apples comparison. Mobile gaming doesn't offer anywhere near the same content as PC gaming (PC games are much more expensive to make, so they correspondingly charge more for the product), but even then, every PC game I play requires me to grind to get the best stuff. I only mentioned it to point out that I know what micro transactions mean to a game. I don't use them in mobile gaming either, I just grind. I'm not even sure what's being argued anymore so let me summarize this situation as best as I understand it: 1) Previous SW games unlocked 100% of the gear and characters just for buying the game. 2) Now it does not. 3) Everything can be obtained without spending another nickel, but it costs anywhere from ~5H to ~40H for each upgrade. 4) Because it is now no longer free and instantaneous, some gamers are upset. I can commiserate with this. Is that about the gist of it?
  15. I felt a disturbance in the force...that someone on the internet didn't like The Fifth Element. I WILL CUT YOU.
  16. It is indeed, but I'm here for you. Huh? There are 14 equipment slots associated with a single WoW toon. Each of which must be grinded to achieve the top level gear for that slot. Now the goalpost has shifted to unlocking every single thing in the game? Impressive young Padawan. Y...wait...N....*sails off bridge of death* I haven't played any EA games but I do play a ton of games on my phone. Almost every_single_one_ offers micro transactions to speed up the getting of the stuffs.
  17. Actually, if I ask a question about anything its 99% legit me wanting to know the answer. That's why I take the time to "like" the responses of posters who take the time to answer. Regarding ~40H, that's what the article says, perhaps you will read it? Nah, its more fun to rage into the internet. Tears of a clown.
  18. Ah ha! The golden ticket has emerged! So this type game usually provided the players 100% unlocked everything immediately after rolling your character? If so, then I can better understand the hand wringing.
  19. Seal punching minigame? That's almost enough to get me to resub!
  20. I suppose it eventually comes to that. But I cant tell you how many times, over and over, Ive rerun a dungeon or raid trying to upgrade just one piece of gear. Or completed the same goddamn dailies hundreds of times to get my reputation high enough to buy a particular; enchant/gear/pattern/recipe. None of those things are reserved for end game raiding. Would I like everything the game has to offer to be unlocked while in character creation? Hell no! But again, grinding doesn't put sand in my crack. To others it does and I completely understand.
  21. "Im right, youre wrong." Does ~40H take on another meaning outside of MMO's? I see nobody has bothered challenging that everything is avaiable to everyone at no monetary charge, just squealing over the time committment. You should try to massage into your story how you are concerned about gambling, it will give it more weight.
  22. I suppose one persons "soul crushingly long and boring" and "completely unreasonable" grinding is another persons ~40H of gameplay. I would have punched a baby fur seal in the face to have "only" 40 hours work to get the best gear in WoW.
  23. But you dont have to pay to win. You have to pay if you want to win RIGHT NOW! Every single thing is accessible via grinding.
  24. There were hard limits on the number of camping supplies you could carry. Are you saying that has been removed for food?
