  4. At the repository of all galactic knowledge, a wiki link.
  5. I was going to suggest that we simply use numbers, then I looked it up and it turns out that the ancient Egyptians invented numbers, and they also enslaved the ancient Jews, who are still around today, so I guess that idea is out the window. Dang, this is going to be tricky.
  6. The warmup continues here too! The next 5 days are full sunshine and above 40F temps. WooHoo!
  7. My father died when I was 7 so I never had the opportunity to learn anything from him. For some reason my mind just easily understands and remembers mechanical / plumbing / electrical systems. I do get satisfaction from maintaining / repairing my stuff but the primary motivation is saving money. Yeah my wife pretty much expects me to fix everything. But I have taught my kid how to changed brakes, change a tire, basic AC/furnace maintenance, minor electrical installation (plugs, ceiling fans, etc.)... that sort of thing.
  8. I have a very strong knack of "learn by seeing", even once, so all the DIY stuff I know I learned by somebody showing me or by watching over the repairpersons shoulder. I also have a PhD in RTFM which will get you through any project. The only thing I wont mess with is "black pipe" which carries NG throughout my home. Even though I know how to do it, I prefer to leave that to the professionals.
  9. WandaVision EP8 Magnafique! *chefs kiss* Stick around for the end credit scene, which only EP7 and 8 have.
  10. Nice! Ive never defrosted a refrigerator but I assume you just unplug it and leave the doors open? Im curious, your "household insurance" can be used on anything big or small (AC / heat) or is only for appliances (fridge, washing machine, etc.)? As you will learn, the costs of the actual materials required to perform a fix as usually very affordable. Where you take the biggest hit is usually in the "labor charges". The more you learn to do yourself, the more you will save in this category.
  11. Per Wiki, the 1959 version has a 9 minute chariot race.
  12. Thats kind of the point of the new laser in the article. Do you have a link for the test you are referencing?
  13. US Army Is Building The World's 'Most Powerful' Laser Weapon.
  14. Ah, the man-o-war. As a kid I remember them washing up on Florida beaches. Beautiful to look at but dont touch!
  15. Look at it this way, maybe we'll learn about whatever childhood trauma made Cruella into the woman she is in 101 Dalmatians. Seems topical for the times.
  16. I think they mean that stats dont really matter. You can build any character with any stat distribution and its impossible to fail, right? Wasnt that specifically one of the points of PoE?
  17. NASA will unveil dramatic video of the Perseverance rover landing on Mars today.
  18. I had my kid at 30 and I honestly couldnt imagine having one at 41! I was exhausted just reading that! Today in Chitown is a beautiful sunny day with clear blue skies. Later in the afternoon were having dinner with my wifes mother, who freshly inoculated, is froggy for company.
  19. Google 'Perseverance rover' today for a fun Mars landing surprise.
  20. Im stoked to see if the Ingenuity helicopter will fly.
  21. Heh, one of my friends is like that too, she wont go anywhere without her giant pit bull. So since I got my new kitties we had to move the drinking to her place.
  22. I just checked Wiki and it looks like the entire lander will parachute/rocket to the surface and then deploy the rover.
  23. According to the weather forecast that Im looking at right now, between 22-28 Feb, the high temperatures for the day (in my area) will be 34/41/39/34/39/40/43F. Why is this noteworthy? Because it is above freezing and due to the hella amounts of snow that we have on the ground the news channels are warning of flooding due to the snowmelt. Now I could walk down a few flights of stairs and check the operation of my sump pump, or I could do absolutely nothing at all to prepare for possible water intrusion. One of these actions can potentially prevent problems, while the other will allow me the opportunity to immediately whine into the internet the minute my service are restored. Hmm, what to do, what to do?
  24. Congrats on your raise, Azdeus!
