Maybe I'm not that good at meta gaming or at all, I didn't find him THAT easy (hard + expert). Even though I didn't had a perfect strategy, it did took me 4 hours of trying to get him finally (with the tank dying right at the end, grumble). So, how are you doing to find the boss so easy ? Lots of exploit ? Optimisation to the death ?

That's about the level I was when I reached it and did the quests. Just like Raedric's hold, I did it right after Gilded Vale at level 3 or 4 I think, on Hard. I'm quite happy that I managed to beat him without pulling or retreating, that I did it like it was "supposed" to be; I did end up with only two or one people alive though. That said, the problem remains for Twin Elms. I guess that's the problem with (semi) open world, since you can do everything when you want, if you go to a location that was designed for a level lower than your actual level, it may be problematic... To be clear, I do not blame you for coming back later, but it's not an easy task to balance everything. I guess level scaling is probably the least bad idea

Why must you oppose Raedric VII?

Update #95: Patch 1.05 - New Features
Klice replied to BAdler's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Announcements & News
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know if I'm the only one, but the number of readjustment makes me think of a multiplayer game. Not that it's really bad. I really like this one also : Nice to see every way covered. And lmao at the bug exploit by speedrunners, I'll always be amazed at how they found those things. -
EI Mod and my opinions

Rest spammer. I imagine Sensuki at old age, getting a bit delusional, pointing a raised fist at people he doesn't like and yelling "You damn rest spammer!!" -
I have no desire to do all that.... I just want to have a fair chance that if I play carefully and with tactics I have the freedom to solo instead of making an uber party and steamrolling the game on normal or hard but with less thought and patience and roleplay...... Think about it, if you can play solo carefully and finish the game on the first try, which point would people have to get a full party ? This is still a party-based RPG, so um yeah, soloing IS supposed to be hard and to require a lot of meta-gaming knowledge before going to achieve that. I can't see why you can't role play with a full party. And I can assure you some fights require patience and thought to overcome it. Edit: From what I understand, the item you are talking about allows you to get one more party member temporarily to help you during tough fight. So why not get one more full time party member ? Or a full party for that matter ? Any way, the item is more expensive you just have to play a bit more before getting it, I guess.

Interestingly enough, I've played the first silent hill when I was around 10-11 years old and I was absolutely fascinated by it, even though I think I didn't catch all the subtleties or symbolism that could have shocked adults. Don't overprotect children, sooner or later they will end up in front of something harsh and even if they don't I think they are not as fragile as many people would think. And if parents are anxious their children may stumble upon something they wouldn't understand or may trouble them, they can always talk with their children and explain stuff to them.

Expert Mode
Klice replied to Brimsurfer's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Probably, yes. There are a lot of options to check, surely you can find what you want in it, I'll check later. -
It has probably been said before, but there's too much shiny here and there, I can't understand a lot of what is happening; but I still manage to win.. Probably because I'm highly skilled Edit : Or because the game doesn't seem to be on hard as it should be, I checked the expert mode but still end with all the informations.

Tomes are lame

I don't know if that's relevant, but I read several times that at some point a good deal of low-level/frequently usable spell would become "free", i.e. not needing to put them in some books and the possibility to use them several time at each encounter. So, if you can imagine that suchs spells would be something like ice spikes/cold touch, it could be that you'll reach what you want at some point. You'll still need a grimoire and you'll still have a lot of limitation to use very powerful spells like blizzard, but that's good because you shouldn't be able to tear the world apart at each encounter. Think about it that way : instead of being just naturally gifted and able to use ten spells per encounter right from the beginning, you would be able to do so after a hard time of practice and learning. I find it pretty cool to come out incredibly powerful after you applied and dedicated yourself to study and fully understand a system than to just "do it"; the last thing is cool too in its own way, though. AND you could still say that you have to be gifted/very attuned to magic to attain that kind of magic/power. It's funny that you mentionned skyrim because all that you seem to despise is exactly what all the mages in the college of winterhold are and what appealled to me : they are scholars and researchers who try to understand the way of magics and while they don't have to carry tomes to cast spell, they still use them to learn the spell. And they live in community to just do that, learn. Pretty nerdy huh ? Anyway, I really love what they did with that, the stuff with the psijic order, the eye of magnus, the labirynth of shalidor, the part under the college, the guy lost in the north.. But I digress. It is still implied that not everyone can cast spells, so that still a point for you. P.S. Yes the tomes in skyrim were just anecdotal. That bugged me a little, 'cause the learning felt cheap.- 88 replies

That Thing Obsidian Always Does
Klice replied to anubite's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
It's actually the case in BG. I haven't replayed SoA or ToB for a long time, but I'm pretty sure it's the same in there. So I have good hope about that in P:E ! -
Ranged combat mechanics

Read teknoman2's post, if what he wrote is legit, then this is not a problem any more ! :D. -
Well, somebody who weight more than somebody else has more chance to be stronger. Beautiful means well constructed, even if there's a subjective sense of beauty you can find somebody that a lot of people would find beautiful. Taller people have been known to be less agile than smaller people (they have "less" to move). Of course there are exceptions, but that is NOT stereotype **** as much it is not sexist (I can't believe a feminist has come this far ), female develop their muscle structure less easier than male, Black people have better endurance potential than Caucasian, Inuit or Canadian endure cold better than Spanish people, etc. It's fact, it's reality, we're not equal, deal with it . As to include in the game, that is another question. On the other hand, instead of making physics affect attributes I'd really like to see it the other way around; I'm kind of sick to see svelte human female having 18 force and wearing full plate armour. I agree on one part, it's stupid to make evil character ugly. Evil has to seduce, an handsome darklord is way better ! I hope one could still make ugly character, I know people who like to play very ugly characters :D

Non-standardization in deities

Even if it's common it could be well done.. -
You mean, you wouldn't; because I would ! It'd be nice to have some nice believable explosion and dismemberment. Even if it's isometric, some features like this wouldn't hurt.

No because furry ? I don't really get it. It's not like you'll see any sexual deviancy if there's any. Real beast races (not anthro) could be nice, though; plus, Khajiit and such are TES trademarks.
