And see, there is no contemporary or sci-fi game where a "kill the rats in my basement with your gretaxe" quest would be acceptable. Thus, Fantasy yet again pr0oves itself to be the worst possible setting* * maybe a "my little pony" RPG would be worse

i dont undestand what's wrong with you people. everyone i know has written Witcher off as yet another eastern-eurpoean b-league RPG, and yet you keep praising it? did they ship a completely different game to the US or whats going on? i was thinking of trying it but the more i see of it and the more i read, the less i want to go near it.

This idea is wrong and unethical for several reasons: - It is very wrong to force a poor mexican man to risk everything by putting himself in harms way for years to become a citizen, while say, a middle-class Swede can just walz in and attain citizenship without a hassle because he was born into better circumstances. - To send out a countrys poor and unwanted to die on the battlefield while serving the interests of the rich and prosperous is a practice that is as old as it is barbaric and cruel. - No man should be forced or coerced into risking life and limb for a cause he does not believe in. Military service must be voluntary and the soldiers must be compensated fully for the risks they take in the service. And also, why the military? Isnt there hundreds of other ways you could use the manpower? Why not let them plant new forrests, care for the edlerly etc. ?

But the vast majority of RPG's are Fantasy which is unfortunate. I mean, you have to be a pretty tragic person to think elves are cooler than spiderman or wookies. I think the crazy enourmous sales of Mass Effect is proof enough that it represents the future of RPG's. And this is despite being released on only one format and sharing launch with heavy hitters such as Assassin's Creed and CoD4. It will very likely outsell Diablo II, which is the best selling RPG of all time.

More and more CG companies have stopped supporting macintosh. Cinema4D is the only major package thats still strong on MacOS. With serious CG workstations your only two real options are WinXP64 or Linux. Even the 2D market is shrinking for the macs, the latest version of Corel Painter(which is originally a mac program) runs much better under windows. Also, no one will hire a macintosh user because they're all smug jerks.

I dont know about you, but Id rather take a bad pancake over a bad pile of manure. Mediocre sci-fi is still much better than mediocre fantasy. And I still dont believe DA will ever be released. All we have seen in these 5 years is a few mockup-screenshots and a small one-room forum buried along MDk and shattered steel.

Dragon age is vaporware, it will never be released, especially not now that EA owns BioWare.
