Whatever happened to F.E.A.R ?
It seems to me that FEAR demands much more of your hardware than it actually delivers graphicswise. That is not a good thing.

Hunting
I saw a hunting documentary on Discovery today. I could never hunt, I couldnt live with taking the life of another being that hadnt done anything to me. I could see deer just outside my widow where I grew up(they liked eating birdfood and old apples) and the idea of shooting one would be like shooting a dog. Like going to the park and just open fire on peoples pets. That old chestnut. Ive known a few hardcore animal rights people and when they do these sort of things its not to liberate a handful of animals but to sabotage the farmthing and put the farmer out of bussiness. I heard it worked on a couple of mink breeders here, they lost so many of their animals that they went bancrupt. Now thats not very clever because thats just goig to make the companies buy from 3rd world countries where they have no concern of the welbeing of the aimals whatsoever.

Jack Thompson now owns Take-Two
Just because its legal it doesnt mean its right. Purchasing stock with the sole intent of disrupting a companys work is unethical.

I dont get why they had to remake King Kong one more time. Theres like 3 versions already and none of them are very interesting, Its just a big monkey rampaging around. And I saw a brilliant failiure to keep a twist hidden the other day in a swede film called "R

I definently think so too, btw. Would you know where I could get that music? I dont have any program that can read .ACM files.

why information is not released early in dev cycle
Its different if you havent already got a publisher. In that case it can be a very good thing to be able to show that you already have a growing fanbase. OR they might go "No, everyone has seen this already. We're not interested"

If youd like I could email you my 30page analysis of Bergmans "Persona". Its very funny because I read an interview wity Bergman a while after writing it in which he explains what it was really about. Id missed the mark by a few hundred kilometers... if filmvetenskap was really science I should have been flunked but I wasnt. Rubbish. Today I watched Spiderman2 and it was quality entertainment from hollywood. Im disgusted to say that I enjoyed it very much.

Who still posts at BioBoards?
Well, it is a bit exaggerated yes. But threads were an unexpected opinion was ventilated tended to be shut down rather quickly. Generally its not a very free area of discussion. I mean, Jay Watamaniuk goes around giving lectures on how to maintain and most of all control a forum community. The part about "supressing negative feedback" was quite interesting edit: and Mr. VOlo.. please do use the quote function. If you just skim a thread it will look very much like youre having an argument with yourself.

Who still posts at BioBoards?
I used to post there lots but its too tightly moderated. You cant talk politics, you cant do sharp jokes, you cant do anything! Any thread thats even the slighest bit controversial gets shutdown immediately aswellas as any thread where two posters do anything but pat eachother on the back. And the board is so slooooow!

Gothic question
I would recommend that you download a properly cracked copy from a reputable releasegroup that has starforce removed, not just a cloned CD or similar. I only kow that my HDD broke sometime after installing a legal copy of G2 Now the game itself, there are worse RGPs out there and if youre really bored.. go for it.

Kaftan Barlasts amazing thread of Art
Its such a good feeling to do sloppy, crappy, coarse and generally ugly drawings in this day and age where everything is so pretty and perfectly photoshopped that it makes you sick.

Kaftan Barlasts amazing thread of Art
This time I wil slap you in the face with two sloppily drawn... drawings. This time they are not imediatey crappy but on the other and I used ze photographs for reference so I am a dirty, horrible cheater and I feel not the slightest shame. I will even go so far as to reveal who these men are so you can further be disgusted by my shameful handiwork. They are Richarb Burton and that guy from "A touch of frost". I blow my nose in your general direction. "Bad posture? What do you mean I have a bad posture?" "Moustasche.... moustasche..... and yet more moustasche"

AI Henchmen or a Controllable Party?
Alrightie then. But could you, to satisfy our curiosity explain why you feel that being able to control your party kills roleplaying? And could you give a few examples of games that you liked and games when control bothered you?

AI Henchmen or a Controllable Party?
I just want to feel like Im playing a game and not watching a demo film of one.

AI Henchmen or a Controllable Party?
But fact is that most companies dont have the time a resources to spend on AI that is necessary for it to be able to handle itself. A friend of mine who is a programmer put it like this "Ok, youve got a week to code the AI and remember that you cant assign more than 5% of the processing power for the AI runtime" The combat choices you make in ToEE or BG reflect the other party members competence and ability to act coordinated, its not like the PC is shouting orders of such a specific nature. A cleric would understand that the mage need healing and the fighter would know that he need to get out of the sorceres line of fire. But combat is gameplay, not roleplay. Its function is to add excitement and tactical challenge to a game, both computer and PnP. Youre not rolelaying when mowing down raiders in Fallout and youre not roleplaying when you race hoverbikes in KoTOR.

AI Henchmen or a Controllable Party?
The best combat of any fantasy CRPG was undoubtedly ToEE and that allowed complete contrl of the entire party, in fact its essential to be able to control the entire party if youre goin to have combat more advanced than clickclickclick your enemy to death Combat hasnt got anything to do with roleplaying. But I assume youre talking about the IWD and ToEE setup where you create and control the entire party and thus eliminating all character interaction within the party. Haha, Id like to see someone play more than one character in an FPS and keeping them all alive... a lot of tactical FPS like R6 lets you swicth etween squad members but imagine trying to do that in a fast-paced action FPS

Extended LotR versions
You need to have ImdbPRO to get the full production information. The regular imdb doesnt distinguish between real producers and people who merely get credited as executive producers as part of their contract. But a Hollywood film is a Hollywood film, no matter if its filmed in Bogota with a Pakistani Director. It is the suits behind it who dictate the terms and have complete control of how it reaches the theatres.
