You need to have ImdbPRO to get the full production information. The regular imdb doesnt distinguish between real producers and people who merely get credited as executive producers as part of their contract. But a Hollywood film is a Hollywood film, no matter if its filmed in Bogota with a Pakistani Director. It is the suits behind it who dictate the terms and have complete control of how it reaches the theatres.

Being a true gentleman, I would never engage in coitus unless it was absolutely necessary. And please! I beg of you my fellows, if you are going to discuss items of a delicate nature please use the proper latin terms. Think of the children.

I dont actually know that much as only the GM ad the player who had a psionic char knew the full extent of the rules. They stated that spell resistance was not enough as psionics werent really magic. And she often used a power that I think is called "psychic crush" that will instantly kill an opponent if he fails his willsave. ordinary spells with "instakill" power are always limited to only working on low HD creatures or requiring a ranged touched attack or similar.

For important photographs or graphic works like digital paintings, use PSD or TIF. For successful proffessional printing they also need to have a resolution of atleast 300 DPI TGA is primarily used for textures with alpha channels.

Stupid things you've done in video games...
Kaftan Barlast replied to Deraldin's topic in Computer and Console
1. Reaching the very final scene of Alone in the Dark with the tree in the subterranian pool. I waded across to the tiny island where the tree stood and the game told me hat since I had waded across he pool, my lamp was wet and so I had no way to torch the tree and finish the game. I was about as pissed off as a 13yearold can be. 2. Reaching the castle in Legend of Kyrandia and getting very permanently stuck. Years later I read that you had to pick up an extra violet rose in the beginning of the game or you cannot finish the game. Naturally, there was no clue whatsoever that I had to do this... ah, those sweet old adventure games.. they sure knew how to frustrate a player back then 3. I got to Durlags tower in BG and even though I had 6lvl characters I couldt hurt the horrors there so I just gave up and never played it. -
Goverments should not be able to do dodgy stuff and get away with it without he public ever knowing it happened. Openness is a basic staple of democracy and using national security as an excuse to keep the public in the dark is not only unethical, it should be criminal.

What antialiasing is and why its so important
Kaftan Barlast replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Computer and Console
Well, I think you are all completely crazy. I will not play games with less than 4xAA and I will gladly shell out fr a tope of the line GFX to be able to see my games like the developers intended them to look. The reason why I need AA is that bad graphics kill the suspension of disbelief for me. If I look at the screen to the left, I see a model placed among some textured polygons but if I look to the right screen with AA enabled, I see my character standing in the ebon hawk. Not to mention that it is highly annoying to see the aliased edges flicker as I move. -
The Lord of the Rings is not even a Hollywood movie. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No?
-
Personally I cannot understand people who claim not to notice the horrible, jagged edges that occur when FSAA(full screen anti aliasing) is turned off. This examle is just a small screenshot, imagine how apparent the jaggedness would be fullscreen.

Does he talk the fish into biting the hook?

Kiling animals for sort is barbaric. I eat meat from the store but its already too late for those cows, might aswell eat them. There are people who claim that if you stop buying meat, more people will follow your example and wed all go veg. "Consumer power" I think its called. Ayway its false and naive, just lke saying that if we all were nice to eachother, thered be no crime.

How about a different setting for a CRPG?
Kaftan Barlast replied to SubBassman's topic in Computer and Console
Gothic was a dirty fantasy game so it doesnt count. You still win, Surp. ...and there was no anal rape in Gothic either. -
Whatever happened to F.E.A.R ?

Got radscorpion? -
If I was still the die hard fan of hers like I used to be, before she sold out, I would have the good mind to slap you silly. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, the good old, hardcore days when she just wrote books about gay vampires waking up to start 80s hair bands. Good times I do actualy believe she actually described a Keytar solo in the book, and it has been scientificly proven that the Keytar solo is the most blatantly *** form of 80s poodle-metal solo known to man. Its so taboo that few people even remember they existed.

edges that shold be smooth, but are jagged. -
I had the misfortune of reading "The vampire lestat" and I have o say it was about as good as the movie (Queen of the damned) which is to say it stunk badly.. Its extremely depressing that good writers starve while complete morons with no talet or taste whatsoever like Rice sell by the millions. I think having poor taste should be punishable by death, it would greatly improve the world.

Whatever happened to F.E.A.R ?
Kaftan Barlast replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Computer and Console
Im exactly the same, in fact I become angry at people who run without AA. I refuse to play games with less than 4xAA. Aliasing is extremely annoying. In fact, Im very hesitant to buy a screen larger than 17" because its more visible the larger it is. I used to have 21", that was torture. -
I think WWs mass-ejaculation of old WoD material was more C.R.E.A.M than VtR. I know around 1998 when I was a WW forum monkey, Justin Achili was talking about how much he wanted to reboot Vampire with a more pure variant that would feature only 5 clans amongst other things. The problem with the WoD and the billion or so games and sourcebooks that were released for the metaplot was taken very seriously by the fans. They were even worse than SW fans in their discussions about WoD "canon". It didnt help that WW were very strict in enforcing canon in their books and novels either, it just helped to create this idea that if youre going to play Vamp or Mage or whatever you HAVE to folow the metaplot and include all he stupid **** from the plethora of books avaiale.

Greed may be an effective form of motiation but it also has he sideffect to draw out all the bad sides in us. We wouldnt want Planetoid United Fruit Co.

I think we should leave all our concepts of economics and property right here on earth. Whatever we may find out there, it belongs to everyone (and no one). Its a bit like international water. If we let corporations, people or nations claim property in space we will be opening a huge can of worms once we're technologicly advanced enough to go out there and try to claim that "property".

Creating your own PnP rules system
Kaftan Barlast replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Pen-and-Paper Gaming
Thats interesting but its just a rewrite of the old "action point" round system. Maybe there is no escape from using either actions or action points? At his point I just going to go with standard round with a number of actions that character can perform based on their "speed" value (I havent decided if speed wil be an attribute or a derived value yet) -
Whatever happened to F.E.A.R ?
Kaftan Barlast replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Computer and Console
I meant that whereas engines like D3/Q4 and FEAR are written from scratch, Hl2 builds on older technology from another developer. This is part of what makes it able to run on slower machines but makes it harder to implement new features. -
Just as long as you realise that what you read in that book is not objective and unbiased information.
-
I havent actually seen the "normal" version of the Trilogy for sale for some time now. The extended versions do contain material that should never have been cut out in the first place like the entire scene with Saruman in RotK. But I dont think theyre good enough to buy anyway, Ive go the book, dont need the hollywood dung.

Whatever happened to F.E.A.R ?
Kaftan Barlast replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Computer and Console
FEAR is too slow, if it stutters with dual 7800s then it will probably stutter no matter what kind of monster graphics card you use ad that is completely unacceptable. It doesnt even look that good to me, the displacement mapped models and the speculars look good and thats about it. Hl2 wasnt exactly all that either, some parts of some levels like the raven place looked straight out of 1999 in some places. And Ill quote John Carmack "Hl2 has still got some pieces of the original Quake left in it" in reference to the programming code.
