  1. Oh, I thought this was staves update. Very well, carry on, thanks for the hard work.
  2. "Shaka, when the walls fell". Wait, so we can write our own chants in-game? SOKATH HIS EYES UNCOVERED
  3. Probably like a PNO here, a Planned Non-Operation, instead of normal registration fees. At least in this state, you must pay to own a vehicle whether it's driven or not.
  4. I'll +1 ASRock. I have a little micro-ATX by them and it's been a champion of features and price. Pretty good documentation, too.
  5. Thanks very much! I'm just a dude in a small place with no pets or kids if we have to evacuate. If we do, I'm taking the Star Trek blu-rays and the PS4 ... everything else is just stuff.
  6. Double damn post. It's hot as hell!
  7. Today so far I have avoided being burned. Thank god and jesus h. christ for firefighters and police officers! I live where the 78 meets the 5. It is armageddon right now. Evacuations all over North County.
  8. Saw a number of peak performances in one film today. From actors, photography, costumes, writing, you name it. Spike Jonze's her stunned me into silence, made me laugh, cry, and feel better knowing people deal with fear and love pretty much the same. Amy Adams is an effortless delight, as is Rooney Mara, somehow expressive and withdrawn at the same time. Olivia Wilde is still my girl, and her scenes were shot in a way not hard to imagine being there, with a true babe, getting slightly drunk at a swank, future-LA dig. Joaquin and Scarlett ... you have to see it to really believe it. Such a unique story, it's hard to convey. The science-fiction element is well-implemented, and I never felt disappointed with plot direction. Some excellent comedy, too, unexpectedly well-timed. Color, costumes, and the style of Los Angeles in the "slight future" were great ... double-length trouser flies and all. Blu-ray extras are limited (no commentary), but are good quality and feel more like extensions of the film.
  9. Well if it's misleading titles we're adjusting, our Civil War couldn't be more ironic. My ancestral-minded mother discovered relatives (from nearly 100 years after the Rebellion), fighting for both sides of The American Internal Armed Struggle Fought Largely Between North And South. Truly nothing civil about brothers killing brothers.
  10. Well, they relented. Polygon tells me Microsoft will offer an Xbox One without Kinect for $399 starting June 9th. Now if they could just build a sexier box for it ...
  11. Is it true the switch to integrated is to conserve power when the laptop is running on battery? I read a question/answer about the 8750M/4000 software switch and it said to plug in the laptop's AC power cord while playing games and the discreet card will work correctly.
  12. I literally saw a Yugo on the 78 freeway last Thursday. Tailgaiting a blue 5-series with its four-inch wheels at maximum rotational speed. Three humans inside.
  13. These guys, droll rollin' paragraph skillz. How We'd Save Nintendo
  14. All I got is I Meatball Expeditionary Force enacting an Error 404 insertion to cover up coastal surstromming ordnance maneuvers.
  15. Oh, god, jesus, the winds are here already. Two high-pressure systems are battling a stormy low-pressure spinning the opposite direction, and the entire conflagration is grinding hot wind and zero humidity from the Great Basin right into my window. Record-high mid-nineties at the coast, this week, all week, low-100s in the inland valleys. Air conditioning is ... not available, and I have to work outside with my Mexican friends. Well, more like acquaintances. If I don't come back, tell the Austrian I hope he finds an armed girlfriend, and the South African, a pleasantly bi-sexual feminist. Speaking of cats, where did Lady C disappear to ...
  16. 20th Century Fox owns distribution for Ep. IV in perpetuity, which means forever, as was expounded upon at length in the Ars article above. Empire and Jedi rights will go to Disney in 2020. George Lucas has nothing to do with it anymore. The only way we get a blu-ray theatrical release is if Disney pays Fox to do it, or Fox does it themselves.
  17. They don't owe us a central feed, but even the illusion of one would go a long way. A successful macro is already available ... the official Playstation Blog updates daily, as does the personal twitter-feed of their worldwide-studios president: reliable updates delivered to one location often, from a personable guy who happens to be the ultimate authority. It's quite nice to hear from the actual horse's mouth, rather than a herd of gophers. I wonder what you call a group of rodents, anyway. Probably not 'herd'. Probably, 'forum'.
  18. This was both encouraging and depressing, but very informative. http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2014/05/could-disney-finally-give-us-the-remastered-unedited-star-wars-we-want/
  19. There isn't enough spicy wasabi root paste in the world to make me eat octopus brain. However, everything else on that plate is prime time.
  20. There is nothing funny about bipedal bald eagles. And in case you correctly noted it is incorrect to wear our flag, the manufacturer says:
  21. If the in-game item is anything but boob-chain, I will gift mine away, too.
  22. God, well I tried to get Bound by Flame at retail, but it was nowhere, at two places. So I came home and read two more reviews and felt some relief for not buying it. I have a feeling the game will be free for PS Plus members at some point anyway, so, I'll wait. Back now to waiting for The Last of Us: Remastered in summer, which I learned today will use high-resolution character models found previously only in cut-scenes for PS3.
