Xbox or PC?
Sell back you Xbox version and take the PC one if your hardware can run it. You'll have better graphics and the game is patched and an additionnal pack will include high quality movies and musics, so it's certaintly the best way to play this game. And AFAIK the gameplay suits better a PC than a console especially during fights.

Drivers
I we knew a bit more about your hardware and OS, we could try to answer more accurately.
-
Soundtrack Available
Certaintly, but it's far less comfortable than reading them with your favourite audio player.
-
Drivers
Its seems me pretty obvious : click on the OS you have on your computer and then, select the RADEON driver .

Subliminal message : Ati is your friend.

Swoop Racing or am I a complete idiot?
You have to be carefull and quite accurate when you fly over the pads. If you were jumping, it may take a while before being at the correct level to activate the acceleration pads.
-
Soundtrack Available
If you have a good music player, it has certaintly said you it was 48 Kbps 32000 Hz Mono MP3. However, a pack with high quality movies and musics will be available very soon, as the developpers said it in the technical forum. Just wait a few days.

Ummm, IT'S HEEEEERE!
They send it to LA who tested it... more deeply than the so called final version of early February.

Ummm, IT'S HEEEEERE!
I did not said I won't play the game unless the endings are fixed. I'll replayed it when the content patch will be available. If a third patch fixes the end, I'll be more glad and I'll certaintly like even more Obsidian.

Xbox KOTOR 2 Fans Get Ripped!
Mwahahahaha ! The XBox sound is powered by some kind of nFORCE SoundStorm, which is far far best than any other integrated chipset that most of the PC use now. Unless you have a real sound card like an Audigy or some Terratec, the PC won't make better sound. Aoh, one last thing. The game was obviously rushed on many plans, including scenario just to allow North Americans XBox owners play it for Christmas. I think this is only justice for PC owners to get the patches who fix the issues brought by too short developement deadlines.

Ummm, IT'S HEEEEERE!
I'll try this as soon as the content patch will be available, but thanks to have heard the fans about the music and video issue. Now, there is only the incoherent ending left .

9800 pro and kotor 2
There is the technical forum for KotOR II for such kind of issues. If you'd read a bit the messages on these forum, you'd see there is only discussions about game developpement and Obsidian developpers talking about this.

Error Reports to Microsoft
I don't know, but certaintly a big bunch. As far as I know, the guys who receive the errors reports absolutely don't care whether you have a legal or not version of your Windows.

Music is degraded to *MONO* 10kHz @ 48 kbit/s?!
I have some great doubts about this assertion... Remember, it is classical music. It does not like lossy compression. Ars Technica said one time that under 128 kbps ANY codec begin to be quite crappy. The best way would be reencoding at proper bitrates from the original master. And I think the developpers are quite present in these forums, I see a lot of icons saying "developper post here".

Rarity of cRPGs? Good or bad?
Do not do this in working time I suppose.

KotOR2 STEREO Music Restoration Project
I sounds far better, but I think you get the best you can get from the actual soundtrack : it really sounds like a restauration of an old soundtrack. Anyway, it's a great job and did not think it was possible to ehance the sound from such crappy sources. It would be better for everyone that Lucas Arts releases a high qualitiy soundtrack.

The Patch may not be released
If the patch is done, there is absolutely no point no to release it. It LA wants to save bandwith, there is the BitTorrent solution. And even if LA has not set up any obligation to fix the bugs of their games in their license agreement, not fixing them is a very good way to increase piracy and to sink it's reputation.

Quality of Life
I think it is quite well know that working conditions in gaming industry are often not as good as it should be. As always, it really depends on the corporation and it's leader. But if the conditions at Obsidian were not good, don't expect Feargus Urquhart answering you and saying something like "yeah, working at Obsidian is like hell, with 100 hours/week and only 35 paid !".

Where is the patch?
You'd rather have a rushed patch which solves some issues and creates new ones ? If it needs one month more to fix all the bugs, I'll gladly wait. And even more if I could have reencoded musics and a more coherent ending.

droid planet screen shots
I agree, there were almost nothing to do in Korriban but founding the corpse of a Jedi and having the flashbacks in the cave.

Video Card Upgrade
As far as I know the GeForce 6600 GT have quite the same performance than the radeon 9800 Pro which is just a bit more performant than Radeon 9700 Pro. So don't hope so much difference nor noticeable increase in performance (perhaps in some OpenGL apps such as Doom 3 or the KotOR series). Yes, the Radeon 9700 Pro is/was a great piece of hardware which will allow its happy owners to run games smoothly during at least one more year. For the CCC bloatware, I've found RadLinker which enables the control of the all the new stuff added in the CCC such as Catalyst AI (which is not in the classical control panel). Now I'm runing the driver with radlinker and without this piece of junk called CCC.

I am interested in games...Alot.
As far as I know NWN2 is not yet available...

Polish Kotor II
I'm sure if somebody has the tool to open and edit the dialog.tlk file, it could be quite "easy" (technically speaking) to translate it in whatever occidental language as far you are fluent in English. But I don't know whether it's legal, totally forbidden or accepted as far no money is made (like any Star Wars mod for any FPS).

Patch coming this year?
Sneak around this forum to see the huge amout of bugs to be fixed. I'd rather wait a few weeks to have a big patch which solves all known technical issues than having a new patch a week after the release of the game which fixes only an half of the issues like the Bloodlines 1.2 patch... I may be dreaming, but the patch will perhaps add new content, fix the incoherent ending and butchered musics...
