  1. The way the "absorb" option becomes available is as follows 1) Reach the top of the tower and find out you need Icatha's help in figuring out how to operate the machine. 2) Go to Icatha's house and find the folks she has locked up. When you do tell them to go to the top of the tower, they'll be safe up there. It's through that option that they'll get eaten by the animancer you met previously. 3) Find out how to operate the machine and select the option to gain +1 might and a minor buff to damage :D
  2. I hope someone busts out the different types of love as described by the Greeks and breaksdown how each companion could qualify for each different type :D
  3. Toward the end of the game it can help to run 2 tanks. If you want to use a monk, sub a monk in for the tank. Due to how the engagement system works you will be in situations where there will be more enemies then what 1 tank can hold back. You'll have a character with great survivability with high damage output to deal with the rest.
  4. The party is a group of well armed dangerous people who are also friends with each other. So does that mean they are an... Army of Lovers? I approve this because you didn't go where I thought you were going... "The party is a group of well armed dangerous people who are also Friends with each other."
  5. Gotcha. By the amount of misogyny I see on the internet I assumed you meant all women should be locked up. My apologies, I do agree that Grieving Mother has some issues. Though, I also laughed at the idea that struggling with faith and being eccentric would warrant being put into an asylum.
  6. I enjoy how Tim Cain seems to be one of the few multi-classes in Obsidian. Makes him more like Tigger :D
  7. I'll say that GM is the best written companion of the group. Eder has alot of heart in his character but the quality of writing in GM's dialog and interactions is a whole 'nother level. I hope -when- they put in romances Chris Avellone writes at least one. Considering Chris Avellone's stated opinions on romances I don't think they would turn out the way you would want... "So if I were to implement a romance subplot in Eternity - I wouldn’t. I’d examine interpersonal relationships from another angle and I wouldn’t confine it to love and romance. Maybe I’d explore it after a “loving” relationship crashed and burned, and one or both was killed in the aftermath enough for them to see if it had really been worth it spending the last few years of their physical existence chained to each other in a dance of human misery and/or a plateau of soul-killing compromise. Or maybe I’d explore a veteran’s love affair with his craft of murder and allowing souls to be freed to travel beyond their bleeding shell, or a Cipher’s obsession with plucking the emotions of deep-rooted souls to try and see what makes people attracted to each other beyond their baser instincts and discovers love... specifically, his love of manipulating others. You could build an entire dungeon and quest where he devotes himself to replicating facsimiles of love, reducer a Higher Love to a baser thing and using NPCs he encounters as puppets for his experimentations, turning something supposedly beautiful into something filthy, mechanical, but surrounded by blank-eyed soul-twisted drones echoing all the hollow Disney-like platitudes and fairy tale existence where everyone lives happily ever after." Those sound like pretty cool ideas to me :D And he did the Alpha Protocol romances so he's capable of it if ordered to do so. So there's hope for off the wall stuff and traditional romances from him! source -> http://www.gameranx.com/features/id/10388/article/an-interview-with-chris-avellone-on-project-eternity/
  8. lel Yeah I kinda made a stupid face in disbelief from reading that.

  10. The AI tends to target the squishiest of your party members. At least according to my experiance.
  11. Agreed. I don't want PoE games to turn into Pathfinder/DnD runs where I need three sets of the same weapons -just in case-. Much rather change what abilities I use during the encounter & tactics in order to beat mobs.
  12. Please no multiplayer. I just tried playing D:OS and seeing how many of the systems were designed from the ground up to be co-op I just want a single player experience.
  13. Death Godlikes also have the ability of having one of the most awesome looking head models :3
  14. Glad to see it's coming along. Though I do chuckle at the thought that the sneak peaks are being put out as you get them XD Still excited for the whole documentary! Hoping that the documentary lives up to the great game and great company it documents <3
  15. Ok you named BG2. That is one. Which are the other RPGs? I mean both DA2 and DAI had more options for women. None of the ME games had more options for men. Ok I think there were a few more for men in ME3 so that is two (maybe there were a ton for either gender). Neither of the KOTOR games gave more options for men. So how is this rare? Granted not every RPG with romances is made by Bioware but they are the standard for this sort of thing. I am not claiming you are wrong just...I have no clue where you are coming from here. You know, you are absolutely right. For some reason that was just a feeling that stuck in my mind from Infinity Engine games, but BG2 is really the only one that has romances. Unless you count Planescape Torment, but I don't know how you could count that. Checking it, it looks like I got that entirely wrong. I think you can count Torment as you can have the succubus say (If I remember correctly, it's been a few years) that she'll wait as long as it takes in order to see you again. The tiefling can also express romantic feelings.
  16. The helmets in PoE are not that amazing and the godlikes have some pretty nice abilities. Moon godlike monks are very good and I enjoy my death goodlike rogue.
  17. 1) These are the attributes I made for my monk that got me through Triple Crown Solo Might 17 Constitution 16 Dexterity 10 Perception 10 (was at 9 then got +1 from White that Wends) Intelligence 10 Resolve 15 Might is very important for damage, Con for staying alive, Resolve for dialogue options. You don't need Dexterity in order to do high damage. You'll be using fists for the majority of the time and they are fast weapons. In combination with the Two Weapon feat, that -does- effect fists, which gives +20% attack speed and you will be attacking fast enough. 2) Stick with your fists, they are the highest damage all-around weapon a monk can use. There can be specific situations where you may not want to use them but overall stick to fists. In conjunction with that take the Two Weapon feat and the Peasant feat in order to give them increased speed and accuracy. Also, wear the heaviest armor you can find. Even though you're DPS you will be in melee with mobs. That means getting hit so you want to up your DR to withstand those hits. In regards to monk abilities, take Torment's Reach, that will be your main damage ability throughout the game. Such a wonderful ability. 3) Good news for you :D since the build I described is able to solo the game you can choose whatever party you want and it'll get you through!
  18. As long as you don't go on a murder spree inside their HQ you should be fine. You can do the other groups' quests and still get the sword reformed.
  19. Of the choices present, Pallegina. Attractive with a strong personality. Male Death godlike.
  20. And then Pillars of Eternity 2 makes you play the Watcher again, railroaded into working for the Leaden Key to stop the Collectors... Thaos and all of those dudes who tried to kill you? They were just part of a rogue cell. "The Gods are too stubborn to see the truth, we're on our own."
  21. I thought the implication was that the Engwithains were wiped out in order to create the pantheon as well as feed all the other crazy soul technology they were toying with, ie the Endless Paths.
