  1. Before you do that, try verifying the integrity of your Steam cache for PoE.
  2. One of the goals of PoE is that no armor type would be obsolete. It's sounding like all armor is potentially going to be obsolete, except for on your tank(s).
  3. This is pretty messed up, and I'm sure not what the devs had in mind. If this truly is turning out to be one of the more sound strategies, than something is seriously wrong with the system that's been put in place.
  4. Not "Baldurized" but does that really matter?
  5. AND the Aumaua. That's 6 races/subraces that cannot use generic photos due to their extremely distinctive appearances.
  6. From Josh Sawyer: "Based on your difficulty settings, the party can carry a maximum number of Camp Supplies (currently ranging from 6 to 2)."
  7. A few new ones were added with the latest patch. I'm betting there will be more added yet.
  8. That was exactly what I was hoping to avoid. Would prefer to just have the screens be created in the background, without having to minimize the game.
  9. My recollection is that it's not possible to click past that particular transition.
  10. I think they are planning to include errata as "feature" of the game... to preserve the authentic experience. For example, when you cast a spell that has been subject to errata it will begin to cast in the original format. You will then be presented with a game screen that will explain the changes in the spell that have been implemented. You will have to read the changes and sign off that you have "read and understand the changes to the spell" before the spell will go off. It's going to be a lot of fun!
  11. Some in game feedback would eventually be good too. "You have purchased the maximum number of camping supplies (insert appropriate integer here) that your party can carry, and cannot carry any more." Or something similar should show on the screen when you attempt to purchase over your limit.
  12. Thanks. I never knew that.
  13. I'm away from my gaming PC and don't have the ability to check this myself at the moment (so sorry for the silly question). I am wondering what the function to create screenshots in PoE is. Is it simply the "Prt Scr" button, or something else? And where do the screenshots get saved? TIA
  14. If that is happening on a lot of transitions, it sounds like that might be more trouble than it's worth. Though good to know you found a way to work around it.
  15. There is definitely some whacky stuff that can happen in combat. The longer it lasts, it seems, the harder enemies sometimes are to kill.
  16. There's been over 500 posts, so a lot of things have been said. For my part, yes, I do prefer having combat xp (and some skill based xp) but it's not because "I want to level by killing things." It has more to do with the fact that in many cases it is highly appropriate to do so. A really mundane quest might be go and pick up a pound of salt from NPC X and deliver it to NPC Y. Yay, you completed the quest and got some experience. No problem; that's how these games work. Earlier in the thread I used an example of your party being ambushed. The fight is extremely difficult, and any survivors of that ambush have probably learned a thing or two about combat and defending themselves. Arguably, this is a very appropriate time to award experience. And also it is arguably more appropriate than it is for certain quests to award experience. But under the current rules in PoE this life or death encounter does not provide any experience to the characters, if it isn't tied to some larger quest. I firmly believe that it should. Honestly, I could take or leave trash mobs yielding experience. It's really more the difficult fights that I believe should.
  17. Thanks for the response. It *seemed* like they weren't getting close enough. I guess my instinct to ditch my ranger and run a paladin was correct.
  18. If they're shipping you something, you need to confirm your shipping address on the backer portal.
  19. You're asking for trouble if you try to play on previous beta version saves. Start a new game, and save yourself some headache. How much progress are you really worried about losing?
  20. Why even risk the instability? Just start a new game and be done with it? It's not like you're going to lose a lot of progress, since the beta demo is pretty short.
  21. The problem I have is with combat sound effects. I hear the combat music, but the actual combat sound effects are playing maybe 30% of the time for me. Mostly it's silent combat. Also, guns need a sound effect. I have the most silent guns ever.
  22. I haven't found a situation where I can move something out of the stash, unless I'm selling it to a vendor. I get the message that I have to be at a "rest area" but I have the same problem in the first floor of the Dracogen Inn or in other areas where the rest button works. Seems buggy to me, or at least, poorly implemented in the current iteration.
  23. Was an issue in the previous patch version as well. I'm guessing that OE hasn't had time to fix it yet.
  24. I was able to recruit a new party member and have not have problems with them transitioning to new areas.
  25. Very much enjoying this update so far. Thanks again OE for your efforts.
