  1. GM has a very suboptimal stat distribution, although her high INT score helps with CC. That said, Ciphers can generate focus rather well/fast with Stormcaller as well.
  2. That makes sense, as some abilities are combat-only whereas others aren't. "Frenzy" definitely is combat-only, so it makes sense that the relative spellholding would only work in combat; likewise, Priests can cast Consecrated Grounds outside of combat and so can the boots proc it. I've just checked and Mirrored Image is also combat-only, so any tests run outside of combat wouldn't yield any result. That said, I've just run an in-combat test in 2.0 and Mirrored Image definitely does not proc from Raiment of Wael Eyes. Aarik, I can prepare a test case and write up repro steps for this fairly easily. Let me know if you need it or if grasida's files are enough.
  3. She performs well despite her shortcomings. I'm not questioning her performance so much as the reason for the shortcomings, which just seem to be unmotivated.
  4. But why gimp her with less stat points than anyone else and a racial trait that is more detrimental than beneficial? Plus of course the fact that you don't get to choose her armor and therefore miss out on the special properties that unique armors offer (and you get absolutely nothing to make up for it.) Unless the devs really have something big in mind for her in part II, she's just gratuitously gimped.
  5. QA will ask for your saved game and output.log file; could you upload them to dropbox and link them here?
  6. Personally, I find party A.I. very handy for dealing with trash mobs. Sometimes I don't feel like putting that much effort into a minor fight that I could win with mindless auto-attacks; party A.I. can win those for me while I enjoy the visuals of spells being cast and abilities being used. However, it can definitely screw you up in important or otherwise more challenging fights. I learned the hard way that leaving party A.I. on even on half of my party during a dragon fight, for example, is a surefire way to die and reload.
  7. Known bug from 2.01 that is fixed in 2.02.
  8. It goes up to (10 + 3) * 75% = 9.75 (which the UI will round up to 10)
  9. ^ if it shouldn't work, that talent would be 100% useless. Its only decent application would be a Druid's Spiritshift form. Every other character would still be much better off using weapons.
  10. It's working as intended. Proofing is not a flat +3 bonus DR against the given damage type as the UI would have you believe (it's already been reported that UI is very bad at communicating how DR works on armor.) Padded Armor DR: 4 Burn DR: 4 * 75% = 3 Exceptional Padded Armor (e.g. Jack of Wide Waters) DR: 4 + 4 = 8 Burn DR: 8 * 75% = 6 Burn-proof Exceptional Padded Armor (e.g. your case) DR: 4 + 4 = 8 Burn DR: (8+3) * 75% = 8.25 (rounded down to 8 by the UI)
  11. Already reported What version of the game are you playing? 2.02 should have fixed these.
  12. I'm fine with it. I like expansions in the vein of those we had for IE games (not modern-day DLCs), and I'm glad PoE got The White March; but releasing more expansions after TWM would feel like beating a dead horse. Part of being a good storyteller is understanding when a story is over and needs to be let go. PoE + TWM feels good and I'm enjoying it, but I don't see much room for extra content around it. As for PoE II, I'd be happy to stick to Unity and VERY happy to stick to the same graphic design/style. I'm neutral toward its continuing the story of PoE's main, or telling a whole new story. So long as it brings interesting characters, good prose, and a compelling story to the table, I'll be happy gamer.
  13. You can even set the game to auto-pause every X seconds, thus de facto simulating a turn-based combat scenario (it's not really going to be turn based, but it will give you time to evaluate your moves at regular intervals.)
  14. Which post are you referring to? I could only see the one that counts to 21. That said, 21 makes the most sense imho. If you don't bind souls to the forge, it takes three ingots to get a piece of Durgan ore so it makes sense that the total number of ingots is divisible by 3.
  15. From the main 2.02 thread:
  16. ^ fairly sure Alpine Dragon is also immune to cold? Though it sure isn't immune to Shadowflame's paralysis effect. That said, my fully buffed main had such a stellar Accuracy in my last play through that I could aggro the dragon without debuffing it - sufficed to suppress his debuffs affecting my main and hit hard
  17. I'm not necessarily in favor of the Alpine Dragon's immunity to crush damage, but I can think of a couple of arguments off the top of my head. First thing's first, it is the player that is supposed to react to the game world and adapt to enemies, not the other way around—unless, of course, you just wanted a game you could mindlessly cut through like butter without ever changing anything that you do. If you build your character around doing crush damage only all the time, you willingly pigeonhole them into a niche; can't complain if not all creatures in the game world adapt to your character's strength by becoming weak to it. It is on you to adapt your tactics/strategies to a fight; not on the game to adapt to your character build. The game offers weapons that do multiple damage types. Some of them do crush damage + something else. You could win most fight with crush damage, then run into the one fight where your usual thing isn't viable and you need to adapt. Swapping to a weapon that does two different damage types is one way of doing that. Besides, most if not all weapon focus talents include all damage types, so you can switch to a weapon that does that particular damage type that you need without losing your +6 Accuracy bonus. Honestly, that doesn't make much sense at all. A fire blight is made of fire; how can it possibly burn to death if burning is its very existence? When was the last time you could put a fire off by adding more fire to it?
  18. Just my .02, but immunities as a concept make a lot of sense. The merits - or the lack thereof - of making the Alpine Dragon immune to crush damage are debatable, but "cheap nonsense" is being able to fireball a fire blight to death.
  19. ^ I've just tried to enchant an armor and the enchantment is definitely added to the total. I'm running 2.0 but I'm fairly certain this was always the case.
  20. It was never bugged. It's fine in your screenshot too.
  21. Stormcaller is actually very good on a Cipher!
  22. ^ I think most threads on soulbound weapons were in the stories section, but the characters section would do too.
  23. ^ what's the last patch you played? Rangers were overhauled in 2.0 and are now considered a very good ranged DPS class.
