What one earth does entitlement have to do with it? :D If you continue from a saved game, you are continuing the story of the world as it developed in that save game. If Eder died, then he is gone. That has nothing whatsoever to do with entitlement or lack thereof and everything to do with consequence and consistency. Without getting too far off topic. 1) Someone who buys/funds the game is I think about as entitled as one really is to anything in life to have access to a rich and intrinsically rewarding experience as anyone else who buys/funds with or without Eder. I would posit that this is only fair.. 2) I was mostly responding to the comment suggesting that since only a minority of players off'ed the dude, it didn't matter - which I think is contrary to the above point. So yea... if Eder died, I wasn't suggesting that he be resurrected or zombified or whathaveyou. Just that a player have equally "good" NPC choices without him, or have the ability to start a new game (ie not from the save state) without him being pre-dead at game start. I'm pretty sure that the team has this issue covered, but this may not have been immediately clear to the OP, hence the response rebuking the comment saying that (s)he's SOL, in so many words. cheers, -tid242 By giving people who killed Eder an equally good replacement, you've effectively removed the consequences of having killed Eder. This would make the game worse for everyone, whether you killed Eder or not as it would effectively make an important choice you made meaningless.

that's my understanding aswell. It would kind of silly, say in the case of a priest, multiclass two priest subclasses. Somehow I don't think the gods would just roll with that. ^_^ Wich is my doubt about a Priest and Paladin multiclassing. If Gods are their subclasses, how would that mix? Paladin orders are not focused on any particular deity. A Kind Wayfarer could be a follower of Eothas or Hylea.

Art Issue
illathid replied to selkino's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
What I wanted to say, that I think Obsidian could perform better for Deadfire. And IWD is a good direction to look at. And I disagree. IWD always felt like they had smeared vaseline over the camera lens, which made for a weird art style. I'd say they shouldn't look to IWD at all, but rather refine what they already have. -
Art Issue
illathid replied to selkino's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Nah, IWD is an ugly pos. The art in PoE was much better. But that's aesthetic tastes for you, everyone believes something different and all of it is completely subjective.- 32 replies

Hah, judging by Josh' response you were not alone Even variable itself is called CritDamageMult Which damage modifiers to make multiplicative and which to make additive was discussed pretty heavily during the backer beta. IIRC it changed multiple times, so I don't blame Josh for not remembering it. Speaking of crit damage and the like, why not have the character sheet show damage ranges for crits and grazes as well?

Storms in PoEII
illathid replied to Bloodshard's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Cool! Do these storms have any mechanical effects on characters? And will lightning ever strike characters like in BG? -
it's a single-player game, so why not let let the player name their multiclass combo? when first taking a second class, player gets the option to name their new combo. sure, a Black Isle Bastard would still be a fighter/rogue for purposes o' the game and any content, but am thinking the folks best able to come up with an appropriate name for a combo is the player. just a thought. HA! Good Fun! could be fun if the multiclass name comes up as the default title, but the interface would let you rename it.
