It's not fun to be a Legacy of Kain fan

That I do not, my problem is that while you seem to hate Steam and/or Valve with a passion strong enough to let us know in a noticeable chunk of you posts, you use the same "Oh but GFWL works fine FOR ME, Steam is the spawn of money-grubbing satan" anecdote that you hate when used in reverse. That is admittedly a real issue if that's actually what happened to you recently. Though you can still limit Steam's download rate to 16 kb/s, and Steam also does not download anything when you're in-game (so you can just play your steam game and then log out immediately after use) so you might want talk to you internet provider about your 28MB data cap, you're getting shafted sooooooo hard. I'd agree that the always-online version of Uplay was way more hated than GFWL. There were FFXIV RR levels of "servers bursting into flames" whenever a new game was released This cycle will just continue if it's nothing but a name change. If it's something more substantial, then it's still Microsoft thinking GFWL is a piece of **** and they'd rather completely dump it and leave a lot of games in broken condition afterwards, rather than improve it until it becomes industry standard. Apparently the former is less hassle.

Meh, depends on if PS+ is having a good month Seriously, this October, Dragon's bloody Dogma: Dark goddamn Arisen on EU PS+. Not to mention all the other games on Instant Game Collection

No, it'll be called L3ft for D3ad

The fact that Steam hasn't worked fine for you and GFWL, through some bizarre magic, has (even though it's messed with my saves, mic settings, broken my games, broken its own installation, forced updates in full-screen, yadda yadda yadda) worked alright, does not give you an excuse to be such an excaggerating drama queen There is a reason GFWL gets a lot of flak compared to Origin, Uplay, and most other publisher and developer DRM solutions. It is the crap de la crap. If it worked well, either as service or a program, Microsoft would hold on to it, wouldn't they?

It can't happen at any time, only when you're in human form, in an area where you haven't beaten the boss yet. However, there are people camping in low level areas, usually called "d***wraiths" (a pun on the Darkwraith covenant). Because they know the game inside-out, they'll go to areas where they're certain to find good loot, enhance it as far as they can, then keep invading in low level areas, exploiting the matchmaking system which makes you invade similar, or higher level players, ignoring any differences in quality of gear. Gear matters FAR more in this game than levels, though leveling helps too. So you've got a level 1 invader with the best items they can find in early game, against some level 20 new player. The level 20 player finds themselves dealing 3% dmg per hit, after which they get one-shotted. On occasion, you find invaders who just want a legit match (they usually bow before attacking) or just wanna have a few harmless, confusing laughs

Sorta kinda There are these checkpoint-ish spots called "bonfires" that give you 5 healing items, heal you, and respawn all the enemies whenever you rest at them. If you want to increase the amount of healing items they'll give upon resting, you need to turn into your human form. Same thing when you want some co-op help "What does human form do?" It makes you vulnerable to invasions, which is forced kind of PvP. The only way to end an invasion is either killing the enemy, die, or go through a boss door. So in order to make the game easier through healing items or proper help, you must also make it riskier. You can make it so that you only spend around 0-5% of your time in human form, or play offline if you really dislike PvP. You'll however lose the JOLLY CO-OPERATION though Yeah, I'd probably say that too if Dark Souls weren't so much better mechanically (except for online lag and framerate in select few areas, but whatever)

Heh, you might just have to. The Souls games aren't easy, as you might have heard, so getting a little bit of practice before Dark Souls 2, a game which I think might be a step harder, might help out a bit. Dark Souls *is* fantastic though. It's very atmospheric, has great substance-over-style type of combat, a whole load of playstyle choices, it has an open world where all levels are connected even if they look drastically different from one another, interesting lore that's not in your face but hidden in dialog and item descriptions, amazing level and monster design, a lot of secrets, etc. That'd be the case for me even if the PvPers weren't a bunch of cheaters, because my Dualshock 3 occasionally disconnects from my PC, and in Dark Souls, that can mean death even if you manage to reconnect in 3 seconds. So I guess I'll just have to pick up the PS3 version of Dark Souls 2. Bit of a pity

CLANG always felt much more risky and experimental than Schafer's Kickstarter, and has a smaller budget to boot, so people might generally go easier on this project compared to what would have happened if Broken Age was left unfinished

ooooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOoooOOOOOOOOOOHHH!!! Yessss, finally new footage. It's been a whole year since their last video

Not like a good number of the biggest Kickstarter successes are PC games...

I suppose the message of this page of the thread is "North America? Why would I live there?"

My friend had been trying to make me play Shivering Isles for years, and when I finally caved in and borrowed his disc, it wasn't quite as awesome as he'd been telling me. A lot of unique moments and locations for sure, but level scaling and "endgame" enemy HP bloat seriously sucked the fun out of the exploration aspect

Guilty Gear Judgment I'm just so hyped over this new trailer that I just had to pick this PSP title up since it was so cheap. It's a very solid side-scrolling brawler (with 20 unique characters) and a portable fighting game in one package. It's too bad the fighting game is the arcade version of Guilty Gear XX #Reload, so it lacks the story mode and mission mode that the console version had. The brawler works as a nice long tutorial for before I go to arcade mode and get my s*** kicked in by I-No Guilty Gear Xrd will absolutely be another game on the pile of titles to get in 2014 for me. Chipp Zanuff is back in action Also, how many of you misread the game as "Gears of War Judgment"? I suspect a few

Sony revealed PS Vita TV that's plugged into your TV, has almost all the functions of your usual Vita (except touch screen control), and costs $99 I'd honestly get one, but my monitor is already shared by my PC and PS3. I'd have to get a new monitor to use VitaTV without a hassle and at that point I might as well get a proper handheld version

Meh, not interested. Now, if they made a kickstarter campaign for Sigma Star Saga 2...

Damn I miss Onimusha The cotrols weren't the smoothest and the camera wasn't the best, but it was such a technical and tough (Oh boy was Onimusha 2 tough) action game that it really clicked with me. The fact that you could potentially one-shot some bosses by carefully timing a counter attack (Issen) right before you were hit was so damn satisfying. I guess the Souls franchise scratches that itch well enough, though... I still want a new Onimusha

Fixed that for ya

PC>arcade>handheld>masturbating with sandpaper>console. You don't like sandpaper fapping? Tsh, peasant

Dungeon Siege 3. Played my first hour of it after letting it sit in my Steam library for so long. The controls and camera are that of a console game. Eww. Eww. I have to approach the game like your standard MMO in order to make it feel less weird. A diablo-clone. I don't know who to point my finger at; Square Enix for making the game multiplatform, or Obsidian for not putting the time to make the PC version play even remotely like the other games of the genre

I so wanted him to jump into the water and make a big splash The environmental detail is niiiiiiiice

Imagine if Dark Souls had Medusa heads and Fleamen. The tears would not stop
-
Naah, though I expect lots of jank motion Well, I suppose it's a $15 title. Maybe their next game will show more polish

Steam greenlights 100 games at once Still no Cloudbuilt, but at least this should put a smile on a lot of indie gamers' faces
