  1. I've had this happen as well. Suddenly when I got out of vendor screen to check my equipment and see what I'd need, upon returning to the merchant I was just unable to buy even a single piece of gear, most stuff jumped up to 4950 like you said
  2. People at Microsoft should probably feel a bit dumb for making that timed exclusivity deal and revealing that it's timed this early. Sure, you get a slight bump for your hardware sales and bigger one for software, but how many will actually buy an Xbone for a game they'll certainly be able to play on their currently owned platforms maybe up to a year later? Do people love Tomb Raider that much? Ryse and Dead Rising 3 probably got some people to buy consoles, but buyers didn't know it'd be put on other platforms
  3. I do wish more gameplay "teasers" were actually over 5 minutes in length. I'm in the process of buying a new processor (well as new as AM3 allows), then later an new graphics card for this game.
  4. Divinity 2: Director's Cut. Got 2 thoughts: 1) Urrrrrrrggggghhhhh 2) Why am I not playing Dragon's Dogma instead?
  5. A stand-alone Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Director's Cut version announced
  6. Just beat Shadowrun Returns vanilla campaign. Yeah, it's good but not quite great. The story pacing definitely felt rather hurried because you had to cram it in a game that's around 15-20 hours long and filled with 1-2 hour stretches where there's no real story going on but tactical combat, and it's pretty linear as well. Still, I am glad I spent that $5 on this game, and both the level of the writing and the game mechanics are promising enough to make me look forward to the Dragonfall expansion, which is apparently better in just about every way and that honestly sounds fantastic. Also, because of this game I've had the Cyberpunk 2077 trailer on loop for 2 days. Personal, responsibility, personal, responsibility...
  7. Horrible guns, but I dig the timestop shenanigans "Oh what's the matter big guy, wanna punch me? Go ahead, I'll let you give me one right on the chin" *time stop* "Oh sorry, did I say on the chin? I meant right on the explosive barrel. Silly me!"
  8. Singularity Man, the guns are so horribly weak, there are no subtitles, you can only carry 2 weapons, the FOV is rather bad and the story just doesn't grab me. I don't know why I'm playing thi- Wait. *holds E key* ZA WARUDO! Oh my, now I suddenly love this
  9. I got 300+ hours on Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. "Ouch, aren't the PSP controls actually painfully uncomfortable?" YES BUT DOESN'T MATTER! The game's too good!
  10. Actually the enemies that don't leave one tend to damage your durability dramatically if your weapon hits them during fading animation, they're similarly bugged. Hitting live enemies causes really insignificant durability loss. And when your weapon is large enough with wide swings, meant for crowd control, and you fittingly have a whole group of enemies, you are going to hit a couple when they're still ragdolling.
  11. Reddit thread with 3 example weapons at 30fps and 60fps And a video of breaking a Mastodon Halberd with 3 tutorial level enemies Yes there are workarounds, and some weapons suffer this less than others, but this is crazy
  12. Alright, you might need to fix up your reading comprehension a bit. Nobody said that corpse-hits decreasing your weapons durability should be outright removed, though I suppose one could argue for that since why should hitting a dead body be so punishing compared to live ones but whatever, what is an issue here that PC players have their weapons break considerably faster than people playing on consoles. There are some rather frail weapons already in the game, and this bug does not help in the slightest. When 30 swings at a corpse with a fully working shortsword can break it completely, while hitting at walls or living enemies takes 120 swings, something's not right
  13. I fear they haven't fixed the bug where hitting corpses makes your weapon lose roughly 2 times the durability it should, and some of the enemies are still in eternal "hyper mode" for people who can run this game at 60 fps. It's so weird, this is a rather marvelously optimized port, but then there are bugs like this that are only there because some coders assumed the game would stay locked at 30fps in all versions. Even my ****ty rig can reach 60 at medium settings!
  14. Dark Souls 2 *sigh* Both Blade of Darkness and Witcher 2 have more responsive controls than Dark Souls 2. HOW??? How can it be this sluggish when the previous 2 Souls games controlled just fine!?
  15. With the assumption that the main group of developers is still together, would you actually give your money to MercurySteam after how sloppily Lords of Shadow 2 was managed?
  16. More Blade of Darkness, but now the flaws are piling up. I keep fighting same kinds of enemies over and over with merely buffed stats, even in case of some bosses, and while the game can still provide threatening atmosphere at times and some of the traps are pretty clever, the medieval castles are all blurring together into this gray mess. Then I got into Gorge of Orlok level, which has a fog effect so strong and bugged out that I need to mod the game to move any further. I hate modding games just to get rid of these very specific gamebreaking mid-game bugs. There is also a bug where your character would just stand still every time a scripted sequence came and not do anything, but I could handle that because usually it was fixed miraculously by Ctrl+Shift+Esc and then coming back to the game.
  17. The Hunger Games based side activity in Guild Wars 2 was a massive success both times it appeared. There definitely is money to be made there
  18. The most obtuse puzzle in Darksiders is the world they try to set up in the start of game exposition dump
  19. "Christ, don't let that big bugger near me!"
  20. And I can replicate the Monthy Python black knight sketch as many times as I want! The dismemberment system is pretty fun
  21. Severance: Blade of Darkness 15 minutes into it: "Wow these controls are so awful and stiff. And wtf is up with all these instant death traps in first level damnit???" 15 minutes ago: "Wow, this place looks like mix between Demon's Souls tutorial stage and Shrine of Storms. Ohmygod help me guys I'm geeking out something fierce!!!" This game might start out really damn rough and not in terms of difficulty either, but boy does my opinion of it improve with every hour I play. Once I figured how to use my character's unique spear moves, I started getting the handle of this game's combat mechanics and could begin to appreciate just how at home I felt in these well designed dark medieval fantasy levels with ambushes and traps galore. It really does feel extremely Souls-esque at times, to a point where I sometimes wonder if Miyazaki took any inspiration from this game. Not incredibly likely because there is some generic-ness in the things they share, but i would not be surprised. I'm watching out for boulders rolling downhill, breakable floors with enemies luring me in at the other side, blind corners with enemies waiting to jump on me, arrow trap arrangements on the walls, secrets I can find with some close inspection and risky 3rd person platforming, the works. And when I'm not exploring these stages without a map but only my memory guiding me, I'm dodging away from enemies' strikes and punishing them in the back with my spear. Not the smoothest movements or animations on my or enemy's side, and the controls aren't the most intuitive (err, how do I drop my crappy shield to take the one the boss dropped?), but this might be the best <2€ I've spent in a short while
  22. Heroes of Might & Magic 5: Hammers of Fate Worst queen ever. Not only did she nearly doom her entire kingdom to become a world of undead because she wanted to resurrect her dead husband, now she left her kingdom (after giving birth to a DEMON Messiah!) to screw with some dark elf who's been stalking her for her entire life and her most trusted general Godric knows nothing of this, and while she's away, a demonic doppelganger queen immolates countless innocent countrymen, starts wars, and then imprisons, tortures and finally kills Godtier Godric Bravo Isabel, Bra. Vo.
  23. I'M NOT AFRAID!!! *plugs his Dualshock 3 into his desktop with hands shaking as if he had drunk a liter of black coffee*
  24. Dark Souls 2 at -33% and it's not even daily? Well damn, looks like I found my main purchase for this sale. Not likely there'll be a daily or a flash for it, but I'm patient enough to wait 10 days and with the season pass being sold, hey, who knows.
  25. Heroes of Might & Magic V (Sylvan Campaign) I metaphorically dusted off this game since I left it unfinished 2 years ago and I want to see how it now compares to King's Bounty: The Legend. There were a few differences for sure 1) Square tiles suck 2) Any units with an equivalent in Kong's Bounty will always be more boring in HoMM 3) Movement in battle is dumb in HoMM5. It doesn't matter if you have 10 movement speed, if you just nudge your character forward by 1 tile, the game considers your turn ended 4) Thank god I don't have to grind as much in HoMM5 The final mission in the Sylvan campaign almost kept me from finishing it. Even on Easy (I don't like multitasking, which means exploring while defending my territory), the main fight was something else. This Vampire Lord Nicolai, he had several very annoying gimmicks: he'd always resurrect if you didn't finish one of two optional quests, he grows stronger every week, he will become stronger by magnitudes if he resurrects after you beating him with sub-quests unfinished, and he upon resurrecting would often teleport and conquer one of the Necropolises just like that. I first beat him when he still had a "Hard" rating against my hero. Upon resurrecting, his rating was immediately "No Chance" and I beat him with very few casualties the first time so it wasn't because Findan's army was severely weakened. He had over sixty spectral dragons! And every other unit in quantities that'd match that strength. My jaw hit the floor and I had to throw one of my spellcasting heroes at him to soften him up so Findan could finally beat him in rematch once all the spectral dragons in the map keeping the sun blocked were beaten. That was simply insane. He at very least tripled his army if not quintupled due to a single trial&error-ish mistake
