Food Thread - Obsidian Gormand's Edition

I guess that's one way to cut carbs. But while I can drop the bread, I need mustard on my blts. -
Chainsaw Man 1-3 I tried watching this to fall asleep but ended up interested enough to stay up. Between watching this and Hellraiser last night I had a dream with body horror caused by some kind of liquid that mutated things into Eldritch Abominations, the end of which involved the remains of a man getting dipped into a pool of water with the liquid in it and coming back as a human torso with bloated tentacles and a disfigured smile. I am now convinced that this is the origin of Bruno. Anyways Chainsaw Man was enjoyable. The protagonist is shonen as shonen can be, but it's played more fun than anything. I think the main girl is a Camellia-tier yandere but we'll just see how that goes. Next up is Narutaru.

Hellraiser (1987) & Hellraiser 2 (1988) The first is a classic for a reason, in many ways it is more of a dark fairy tale warning us of the price to pay for desire than it is a monster movie. The Cenobites themselves have only two victims, while most of the body count in the movie is racked up in service of Frank escaping the torment he pursued when he thought opening the box was just going to let him **** a succubus. The second isn't as good, but is still better than all the sequels before the new one dropped. It goes more into creature feature with the introduction of the Doctor and does some exploration of the cenobites, but not enough to go into info dump territory. Seen together they're a solid block of horror.

https://www.nexusmods.com/pathfinderwrathoftherighteous/mods/398 I figure @InsaneCommander and @Gorth ought to get a laugh out of this. Too bad there isn't a slime option. -
I've seen some reports of police stopping vehicles in places to slow down the vote. With that in mind, the way I see Bolsonaro could pull out a win is pulling something nasty. I'd like to say there's not a chance of that happening but these days you have to wonder. You make good points But maybe [screeching noises from the void between the stars] ?

Cabinet of Curiosities 1 and 2 Guillermo Del Toro hosts a horror anthology series. At least the first two episodes are well made and plenty scary, so I'd strongly recommend it to horror fans. Stop being naughty. -
In this case I think it's funny as a running gag. Well that's foreboding news.

Spy X Family 17: Anya Pink OVERDRIVE After the Yor episode we have an Anya at school episode, complete with Mr Elegant and many Anya faces. And best of all NO FRANKY! For being such a fancy school they need to hire more teachers, it seems that Mr. Elegant teaches everything.

https://www.cnbc.com/2022/04/25/elon-musk-and-free-speech-track-record-not-encouraging.html https://abovethelaw.com/2022/08/elon-musks-legal-filings-against-twitter-show-how-little-he-actually-cares-about-free-speech/ https://www.wired.com/story/elon-musk-free-speech-twitter-global-censorship/ Elon doesn't care about free speech, but I think his move to buy Twitter is less about money (he will lose more money than the Tumblr buyers did) and more about attempting to influence narrative (or stopping us from posting the picture of him and Ghislaine Maxwell). The "free speech" crowd are mostly frauds whose outrage is reserved near exclusively for reactionary media figures, none of them said a damn word when a Trump appointed judge sentenced Daniel Baker to prison for four years for Facebook posts. Such folks will be the first to get in line with real censorship (they already have) and need to be treated like the spineless bootlickers they are. I think for Elon, Attention is Money. Most of his wealth comes from government subsides and convincing other rich people he was going to make a lot of money, his companies don't sell nearly as much as their competitors and most of his "innovations" just catch on fire. Elon Musk is a a huckster cosplaying as a (parody of a) sci-fi tech ceo, if he dropped the show and went low-profile a substantial amount of his current and future wealth would evaporate.

Yes. Both of the Haunting shows are more in line with Midnight Mass, but I don't think either are as good. They're both better than Midnight Club though.
