  1. Age of Wonders 3 is free for a limited time on Steam
  2. I like the Dvar space dwarf look. There have been too few space dwarves in strategy games. Actually there hasn't been enough space fantasy with elves, dwarves and orcs and goblins, since Warhammer 40K decided to become serious and grimdark (and mostly badly written drivel 😛 ). But Amazons have dinosaurs with lasers. What can compete with that?
  3. Here you mix races with "secret technologies" instead of classes. I'll be playing from day 1 though, so I'll let you know impressions asap.
  4. Reminding people of the factions we are looking forward to: Amazon: Assembly: Dvar: Kir'Ko: Syndicate: Vanguard: What will you choose?
  5. All survival games sound like work.
  6. Torment I get as far as the first city and always quit there. Modern games have me worried that I might not be able to rest whenever I like. So I don't rest, which means I don't replenish my whatever. I don't even know if Torment has an issue with me resting, but since so many games seem to do, I get fatigued with all RPGs nowadays before even finding out if they have a system that would fatigue me.
  7. 75%? Defiance story was 100% that. NPCs talking and the PC standing around waiting to shoot stuff. I enjoyed that story.
  8. Rogue Factor are so slow developing that, I am afraid I may have died of old age by the time I could spam you with screenshots of that...
  9. And now for something completely different:
  10. That sounds so Funcom... Secret World was good until you had to put up with the gameplay.
  11. And another one gone.
  12. Yeah, that was Nestle
  13. Finished Spellforce 3: Soul Harvest. The German translation was not up to the standard I had come to expect. And far too often English text showed up. So as a German player the experience was marred by a rushed localisation. The ending was interesting, though the "boss fight" was tedious. The game could have been a great experience, if it weren't for too many little things that hurt the enjoyment. Maybe it would have been more fun in English and when not having invested 70+ hours into Spellforce 3 and thus being used to the UI from that. By the time I had gotten used to the new way of doing things, the expansion was over. And I still believe the change wasn't for the better.
  14. If you liked Star Control 2, you should like Origins. It is easier, clearer of what each race requires you to do (no finding female Shofixti in time before the Pkunk decide to reunite with the Yehat, so you can have shown the Yehat that the Shofixti live, triggering the Yehat civil war and allowing to Pkunk to stop it).
  15. It occurred to me that I need to learn to code, then make a game with True Perma-Death 💀: when your character dies, the game will automatically uninstall itself and delete itself from your Steam/GOG/Epic(😱) account, forcing you to repurchase if you want to try again. I will have a small dedicated army of fanbois who will defend this practice and call people who disagree names. I have not yet decided what names, but I am considering Jason, Kevin, Tim, Mandisa... I am open to suggestions.
  16. Did you play the DLC? I felt the same way about the base game. Though I had no issue with loading screens. I didn't like the first part of the DLC. By Jeff did I dislike it. Actually I so disliked the first part of the DLC, Jeff be my witness, I feel no compulsion whatsoever to play the second part. The base game had good writing. The Mowlings were my favourite, but I liked everyone. Perhaps the Mukay were the most bland, the fish joke getting old fast. But even the Greegrox had some charm. inginginginginginginginginginging But I loath the Gloosh.
  17. Star Control IP legal battle got settled through honey and mead... https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2019/06/stardock-and-star-control-creators-settle-lawsuits-with-mead-and-honey/?comments=1
  18. Will there be strategically placed orgy spots on the walls, so guards on patrol don't miss out on their hourly orgy quota?
  19. What's your gang? (be warned, any reply other than Escher may result in poisoning)
  20. He is Johnny Mnemonic. Doesn't get more Cyberpunk than that in Hollywood.
  21. I felt they made it to make clans more distinct. To ensure no two clans can be played the same way. A Brujha with Celerity and Presence could be indistinguishable from a Toreador. I don't like losing a discipline. I want to be fast, strong AND dashing.
  22. I hear Cork is lovely this time of year. Just like the Adirondacks.
  23. Glad I am not the only one who misreads things. Even though as a teatotaller I have no excuses.
  24. That blackmail prank I played on the theatre got shared by one of the actors on social media. He got over 200 retweets on it, which for a small country and minor language is quite a bit. So a website picked it up as a random story. Spend all of Sunday with friends telling me where they saw my letter pop up. Which was touching. Of course once it got to that level, an acquaintance ran onto Twitter to say that he knew who "the neighbour" was. I don't mind them knowing, but am a bit annoyed; it wasn't his place, not his prank. It turns out the actors and I have quite a few common friends and acquaintances (heck, my dad for example) and all of them were keeping quiet and having a giggle. Oh, well, now to come up with something else to do...
