  1. Since Shady showed interest in City of Heroes, here is me earning the Shady badge in game
  2. The game opened up on Private Servers open to the public. Being European my characters are on Reunion (EU), naturally - more so since I used to play on Union back in the days. Graphically the game hasn't aged all that well obviously. But the old mmo gameplay actually works.
  3. Flying? Two of my City of Villains characters do that. The third got teleport instead. It's just so nice to click on the horizon and appear there.
  4. My biggest problem with choices is that I do not trust game writers to have reasonable results. I could go into a long rant about how good and bad are equally valid and everything is gray really, is an idiotic, cowardly and selfish stance that paves the way for evil men, but I'll save that for when I am not eating ice cream. Suffice to say, if we went with Kotor II Kreia logic, all mothers should be tried for conspiracy to commit murder, as none of their children would die if they hadn't given birth to them in the first place.
  5. It's part of northern European culture really, hailing from romanticism, where a journey to the south was part of coming of age for those who could afford this. As the world was a smaller place up until recently, it was "easier" to find people to take a person in, so much more so since that person might be the most up-to-date source of news from home. In school we had to read Aus dem Leben eines Taugenichts https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aus_dem_Leben_eines_Taugenichts The main character reminds me of the beg packers in a way. With the internet we don't need to take someone in to speak our language outside the immediate family. Athens has been seeing it's share of beg packers. Not a fan. But the issue should not be mixed up with the homeless problem.
  6. City of Villains. Started an Arachnos Soldier and trying to get her to level 20 so I can go rogue, betray Arachnos and turn hero. The character is called Spider from Mars. She'll start her path towards redemption out of lingering guilt over smashing Ziggy Stardust's sweet hands.
  7. God, games where you need to make choices. Loved them when I was young(er), quit them for several months now whenever a choice comes up
  8. Which game is it?
  9. You get the email. Also when looking at a game on the store, the store shows you a list of friends who own the game, but also who has wishlisted it. And yes, when you look at a person's profile, you can check their wishlist, so you can use that to plan presents. This should be mine for example: https://store.steampowered.com/wishlist/profiles/76561198007554934/#sort=order
  10. I am at 51, as I trim my wishlist down when I notice I won't get the games anyway.
  11. They mentioned something that with Assembly some of the mount/vehicle options will be to transplant the hero's head onto other bodies? That will be fun.
  12. Age of Wonders 3 is free for a limited time on Steam
  13. I like the Dvar space dwarf look. There have been too few space dwarves in strategy games. Actually there hasn't been enough space fantasy with elves, dwarves and orcs and goblins, since Warhammer 40K decided to become serious and grimdark (and mostly badly written drivel ). But Amazons have dinosaurs with lasers. What can compete with that?
  14. Here you mix races with "secret technologies" instead of classes. I'll be playing from day 1 though, so I'll let you know impressions asap.
  15. Reminding people of the factions we are looking forward to: Amazon: Assembly: Dvar: Kir'Ko: Syndicate: Vanguard: What will you choose?
  16. All survival games sound like work.
  17. Torment I get as far as the first city and always quit there. Modern games have me worried that I might not be able to rest whenever I like. So I don't rest, which means I don't replenish my whatever. I don't even know if Torment has an issue with me resting, but since so many games seem to do, I get fatigued with all RPGs nowadays before even finding out if they have a system that would fatigue me.
  18. 75%? Defiance story was 100% that. NPCs talking and the PC standing around waiting to shoot stuff. I enjoyed that story.
  19. Rogue Factor are so slow developing that, I am afraid I may have died of old age by the time I could spam you with screenshots of that...
  20. And now for something completely different:
  21. That sounds so Funcom... Secret World was good until you had to put up with the gameplay.
  22. And another one gone.
  23. Yeah, that was Nestle
  24. Finished Spellforce 3: Soul Harvest. The German translation was not up to the standard I had come to expect. And far too often English text showed up. So as a German player the experience was marred by a rushed localisation. The ending was interesting, though the "boss fight" was tedious. The game could have been a great experience, if it weren't for too many little things that hurt the enjoyment. Maybe it would have been more fun in English and when not having invested 70+ hours into Spellforce 3 and thus being used to the UI from that. By the time I had gotten used to the new way of doing things, the expansion was over. And I still believe the change wasn't for the better.
