Interesting timing for a movie that will undoubtedly feature the French Revolution prominently, given what's happening in France right now.

In fairness, her mother Ungoliant was a spirit that just happened to take the form of a spider and could, presumably, assume a different form. It's not that much of a stretch to think Shelob could do the same... Okay, it's a bit of a stretch. -

Wait, when did @BruceVCstart working for Larian? -
I lean libertarian so naturally my first inclination is to be in favor of less regulation. However, it's not that simple. In a perfect world we wouldn't need any mandates. In a perfect world a sort of honor system would suffice and people would take breaks as necessary throughout the day. Everybody has their good days and bad days and there are days when people get a bit lazy and maybe take more breaks than they really need, but as long as they don't abuse the honor system too much, it's fine. In my experiences that is mostly how it worked. In the past, so long as I wasn't clearly being lazy, my boss would just let me take a break whenever. Here in Cackalacky the law is 2 10 minute breaks and a 1/2 hour lunch in an 8 hour work day, or at least that's what it was before I became a truck driver (whole different bunch of rules and regulations for truck drivers). We would wind up taking more than those 2 breaks and the lunch during a work day, a couple of minutes here a couple of minutes there, and no one would say anything as long as we were getting our work done because I didn't work for COMPLETE ***HOLES. However, complete ***holes do exist, so some level of regulation needs to exist because otherwise scumbag employers WILL abuse their workforce, we have hundreds of years of evidence for that. There are scumbags on the other side too that will exploit and abuse regulations to do as little work as possible, forcing everyone else to pick up their slack, I've witnessed these people with my own eyes. So where do we draw the line? Again, as a libertarian I lean toward less regulation, but I realize it's not that cut and dry. There needs to be some regulation to protect employees from abusive employers.

I played the Broken Roads demo recently and, if nothing else, the alignment system in that game is potentially superior to the D&D Brady Bunch grid. It has a moral compass with 4 quadrants: Humanist, Utilitarian, Nihilist, and Machiavellian. You have an arc, like a view cone, that represents your alignment and it's not confined to any single quadrant. If you make a decision that deviates from your current alignment then the cone will rotate. If you keep making choices that align with your current alignment then the cone narrows but grows longer. Those circles are dialogue abilities you can use if they are fully within your alignment cone. Jury is out on how well it will work over the course of a full game, but it seems to better represent how people think and act than the law chaos good evil Brady Bunch grid. -

Was it Winnie the Pooh? -
False. They didn't outlaw water breaks, they outlawed the government mandate for water breaks. There's a big difference between the two. Morally, I feel people should be able to take a water break whenever they feel the need to. Whether that should be government mandated is another story. I'm not going to argue either side of it. I'm just pointing out that there's a difference between outlawing a water break and outlawing a mandate for a water break.

I finished the story mode and what a way to cap it off: To put the cherry plum on top, I made Chris Jericho tap out to a stretch plum to win the world championship. Doesn't get much better than making one of the greatest of all time submit. The story was corny as ****, but it was really fun. I got to the point near the end where I had enough mastery with the controls that rather than just trying to win the match I was showing off, taunting the opponent, throwing in a couple extra flashy moves even when I had my opponent dead to rights just to pop the crowd. Gotta give the paying fans their money's worth. I'll definitely play through the story again. There are different things that can happen and I'm 95% sure the story begins differently if you are a male wrestler. Also there's an upcoming free DLC that's going to add the Stadium Stampede match, which will be glorious pandemonium.

Let's look at the silver lining here. Sure, the response to an ill-advised ad campaign for ****ty beer was, let's say... Disproportionate. Still, if the end result is a lot less people drinking ****ty beer, I call that a net positive. Granted, it's likely that a lot of those people are simply drinking different ****ty beer, but I'm an optimist, I like to think that at least a few of them switched to non-****ty beer and that's a win for humanity as a whole.

We always have people set off fireworks round here for a week prior and a week past July 4th. Luckily, I have no trouble sleeping through fireworks going off so it's whatever. I got home from work and really really really felt like skipping the weight lifting. As punishment for my moment of laziness and being a little bitch, I hit the weights extra hard. It's all about starting, doing that first set. Once the adrenaline starts flowing the rest of the workout is easy. I'm also happy to report that I'm now doing all exercises with the 20 lbs steel mace gripping it at the very end of the handle, as opposed to choked up 1/3 of the way up the handle how I started. At some point I'll likely pick up a 25 or 30 lbs steel mace.

Suzu Suzuki, all 5' 115 lbs of her, scoop slamming Paul Wight aka Big Show. This is completely believable. Dumping him on the back of his head with a german suplex for good measure. Again, completely believable. And, as an added bonus, throwing Luchasaurus down with a uranage.

Don't the PC versions of GamePass games stream from the cloud? How would you even mod that? -
The story mode in AEW Fight Forever is so incredibly cheesy that I kind of love it. I wound up losing my women's world championship in a 4-way match. The brass in AEW clearly knew no one could beat me fair and square in a 1 on 1 match, so they put in the fix by forcing me to defend my belt in a match where I didn't have to be pinned to lose the title, which is exactly what happened. Later on John Silver tried to recruit me into the Dark Order, but it was a ruse and Mr. Brodie Lee (R.I.P.) jumped me after a match. I wound up systematically defeating all his cronies then I took the TNT championship from him at the Full Gear PPV. Now I'm building toward an Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch at the Revolution PPV. Hopefully the pyro works better this time around.

I'm an equal opportunity ass kicker. I beat up both women and men. It looks like Scorpio Sky tried to cop a feel while I was hitting him with a Death Valley Driver. John Silver is enough of a goofball that I can actually see him saying something that corny. He wants me to join his jobber stable. Yeah, no thanks.

AEW Fight Forever My Suzu Suzuki CAW that looks nothing like actual Suzu Suzuki. For reference, actual Suzu Suzuki: On the bright side, I was able to customize most of her moveset to reflect reality. Unfortunately the Tequila Shot (/points down to sig ) isn't in the game so she's back to using a german suplex as her finish. Kenny Omega actually looks pretty good, maybe a bit young, it looks like 2015 Kenny Omega. Matt Jackson, on the other hand, looks derpy as ****. Some top tier writing. I'm already the champ, where do I go from here?

I'm sure it will still have some of the 20 year old Gamebryo bugs that they never bothered to fix. -
I started playing AEW Fight Forever. This will obviously get compared to the WWE 2K games, which is both to be expected and not completely fair. On the one hand, WWE games have been made for decades and this is a first outing for AEW, on the other hand it's made by Yuke's who used to make the WWE games. They went for a more arcadey feel like the N64 wrestling games, most famously WWF No Mercy. In that sense, I'd say it's a success. The game is easy to pick up and play and legitimately fun. It doesn't have the level of depth of current WWE games, but you can't expect that from a first outing. The amount of modes on hand is fairly generous. The story mode is a mixed bag. Each week you can do 4 things and then you have a match on the show. You can train which gives you skill points but drains energy and comes with chance of injury, you can go out to eat, which recharges energy, you can go sightseeing or do a meet & greet which improves mood, and you can play mini-games which can earn you money. There are several weeks of standard TV shows then the PPV. Most of the dialogue is not voiced and the writing is CRINGE. In terms of presentation this game won't get any awards for graphics. They went for a more cartoony style and some characters look pretty good and some look hilariously derpy. In terms of creating your own wrestler, the move customization is impressive. There are a lot of moves available in a whole bunch of categories (though some moves I'd love to see in the game are missing) giving you a lot of options with which to customize your wrestling style. In terms of appearance, though, the game comes up rather short. You only get a few faces to choose from and about a dozen hair styles. Gear options are... The basics are there but beyond that the game is lacking. Hopefully modders step up and add a lot more gear options. Overall I'd say that it's a solid first effort and a good base for future games. It's fun to play, which is the most important part, but the game is definitely lacking in some areas.
