  1. The Talos Principle 2 I didn't get to explore New Jerusalem in the demo, so I took a couple of hours to explore the place; not every nook and cranny, mind you, but enough to get an idea of the layout. I have a feeling I'll be back here for some puzzles closer to the end. Oh, and there's an entire shrine dedicated to cats with a boatload of cat pictures. But, off to the island I go. The game has a photomode with all the usual sliders and filters and frames and a lot of poses.
  2. This is why it's superior to being a manualcrat where you have to push in the clutch and shift into persistent then clutch and shift again into ruthless. Just imagine if you screw up and grind the clutch, "the west" will never let you hear the end of it.
  3. I'm more partial to Heaven's Gate. I mean, look at this guy: That looks like a dude that knew how to party.
  4. James Harden got traded to the Clippers. We need to savor this because it might be the last time we get to see a true master ply his trade (no pun intended). James Harden is one of the greatest quitters in team sports history and this may be the last team he gets to quit on. I'm looking forward to seeing the process, to watching him say all the right things and even playing selflessly and kinda sorta trying on defense for a few weeks, just long enough to sucker in a whole new fan base. I think he's got it in him to raise the bar yet again and sabotage another team with a new and inventive way to quit on them.
  5. I didn't have a single trick or treater yesterday. The numbers have been dwindling but this is the first year that NOBODY showed up. This is the downfall of western civilization.
  6. This game is super chill. Awesome aesthetic. The game is visually striking. Oh and you can play with the little pet you have on your shoulder.
  7. Jusant So far I got as far as the end of the demo that I played some months back, which is to say the end of chapter 1. They tweaked some things, but it was mostly the same climb I did back then. From here on out it's all new, though. /rubs hands together
  8. Incendiary grenades are non-lethal? I'm picturing Regina Jones picking up a charred corpse and V trying to convince her that the guy is fine, just a little crispy around the edges. Next you're going to tell me that white phosphorus grenades are actually beneficial for your health. They really clear out the sinuses.
  9. Lycan Colony (2006) - The son and daughter of a missing ex-special forces operative and a disgraced alcoholic surgeon cross paths in a town populated entirely by werewolves. You know, as someone who watches a lot of crappy movies, I'm quite accustomed to seeing day for night. Seeing both actual shot at night and multiple instances of day for night, different but both awful, in the same sequence is new though. To say that this movie is incompetent would be quite the understatement. Everything is wrong. Everything. The acting is atrocious, the audio blows out the microphone numerous times, there are scenes filmed in front of a green screen of a forest when other scenes were actually shot in a forest, rather than draw a tattoo with a sharpie on one of the actors, the filmmaker decided it was a better idea to superimpose an image on a moving body part with predictable results, also there's fart magic. This film was clearly made by someone who had no clue whatsoever how to make a movie.
  10. I've been having my own personal year of the Linux desktop since around 2002. As for ARM, can we fast forward to where RISC-V replaces both x86 and ARM? That's what I'm looking forward to.
  11. I'm down with that. If I'm the Cowboys, of our backups, I'd rather keep Cooper Rush because he's proven he can win with this team. Trey Lance has the higher upside, but he's still a largely unknown commodity. It's a complete roll of the dice what you're getting with him.
  12. I've been doing the cyberpsycho quests. Contrary to popular belief, gorilla arms are non-lethal for the purposes of these quests... If you're careful. The punch that would kill the cyberpsycho will instead lower them to 1% health and knock them unconscious, but if you punch them again they die. I have to be careful because I throw a lot of flurries, so when their health drops low, I need to be measured with the attack button (read: right trigger). This is easier said than done with 20 body and tier 4 electrified gorilla arms (I hit HARD), but it can be done. Side-note: I have a long way to go before reaching level 60 solo, but I will get there and the level 60 solo ability is just straight up ridiculous. I'm glad that CDPR are done with this game, so they won't be fixing this hilariously glaring OP buff. I mean, I'm already OP as ****, but with lev 60 solo it's all over. Never mind the other 2 ridiculously OP buffs, just +30% uptime on berserk is ludicrous. I'm going to wind up with something to the order of 16 seconds of berserk. The amount of bodies I can turn into paste in 16 seconds is staggering. Keep in mind that I am effectively invulnerable (with Juggernaut I can't even be knocked down or slowed down) and have unlimited stamina during that 16 seconds.
  13. The Giants had a grand total of -9 passing yards yesterday. That's not a typo, they had negative nine yards passing as a team. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that's not going to get the job done. As an aside, who do the Vikings get to replace Kirk Cousins at QB? Jacoby Brissett? Cooper Rush?
  14. This Cowboys team, the one that dominated the Rams in every phase of the game, offense, defense, and especially special teams, can I get that team to show up for next Sunday's game against the Iggles? Please?
  15. The ol' clean out the fridge special. It does tend to be a stew or a casserole.
  16. I just found out about it recently but apparently it's been a thing for a few years. Hopefully kids go back to good old fashioned trick or treating. Kids need to have that night of mischief. Mischief is an important part of people's formative years.
  17. I played Arx Fatalis many years ago. It's almost a great game. Almost. I'd write that Arkane flew too close to the sun, but it's a game set on a planet without a sun, soooo... The game has some interesting ideas not necessarily executed particularly well. Whether that's due to hardware limitations or developer inexperience or lack of time/resources I don't know. I remember it being jank as ****, and this is coming from a guy that goes out of his way to play jank games.
  18. Bushmills 10 Years Old. It's your typical Irish whisky taste with above average smoothness. Nothing novel to the taste but it's pleasant enough and goes down exceptionally easy.
  19. I figured out why I get almost no trick or treaters these days. I guess trick or treating is going the way of the dodo and now there's trunk or treat? Is this a pandemic invention or does trunk or treat predate covid (shows you how out of the loop I am)? Either way, that's dystopian as ****. I mean, from a pure efficiency standpoint you get a whole lot of candy in a short period of time, so there's that. Still, trick or treating wasn't just about the candy, it was a whole night of goofy shenanigans without those pesky parents around to ruin the fun. It was throwing rolls of toilet paper over trees and egging houses. Sure, that sucked for whoever's house and/or yard was affected, but as a kid you're not concerned with that and the hijinks were awesome. I guess kids going forward just won't get to have that experience. That ****ing sucks.
  20. I just realized this game is only a handful of days away from release: I played the demo 2 Next Fests ago and LOVED it. The only bummer is that the release is so close to The Talos Principle 2. Once TTP2 comes out all other games cease to exist until I 100% it. First world problems.
  21. What was the shoe box for? Were you hoping to capture it and keep it as a pet?
