  1. I think so. AFAIK the only change was making his inventory available from other ripperdocs.
  2. Public Service Announcement: Feel free to beat the $#!+ out of Fingers, there's now no downside. I'll try to be as spoiler-free as possible. Fingers is an absolutely deplorable character you meet. You have the option to rough him up or not. Roughing him up formerly locked you out of some of the best cybernetics, though, as he's a ripperdoc and he, understandably, won't do business with you if you beat his ass. However, with the 2.0 update the cybernetics once only available through him are now available elsewhere, so go ahead and bust him up real good, if you so wish.
  3. This is theoretically possible: However, the cops had to have gotten the balance juuuuuuuuuust right, plus the slightest breeze would put it either back on its wheels or on its side.
  4. I favored motorcycles in my first playthrough. I was a fan of the Yaiba Kusanagi CT-3X, not only because it was the fastest motorcycle in the game (though not the fastest vehicle) but also because it sort of looks like Kaneda's iconic motorcycle from Akira. Phantom Liberty has a bunch of new vehicles so who knows what I wind up liking the best.
  5. My new V: Sex Appeal Level = Critical
  6. Phantom Liberty is live for me. I started a new game, went with a male street kid V this time (female corpo on my first run). I'll be playing on hard this time (normal the first time). Not much time to play tonight as I have to get up early for a delivery tomorrow. Apropos the new ending, I haven't watched it, nor do I plan to until I actually get to it myself, but getting a bad ending feels right in a game like this. You shouldn't have a happy ending in dystopian cyberpunk. Bittersweet at best, downright soul crushing at worst.
  7. I still don't know how to feel about it. I mean, if I wanted a Scotch that tasted like that I could just buy a Speyside. On the other hand, "Brook-Laddy" would definitely be an above average Speyside, were it a Speyside, so I'm happy I was curious enough to give it a try.
  8. Fair enough. I'm not privy enough to the inner workings of the annual budget to argue against that. If the administration does have the available funds to help the victims in Lahaina and they choose not to, probably figuring people will forget about it in a few weeks, like they did East Palestine, that paints them in an even worse light. I'm all for sending humanitarian aid to Ukraine, I'm against sending any more weapons.
  9. This was me over 20 years ago starting my Linux journey with Slackware Linux. At that point Slackware didn't have a package manager, or I just didn't know what it was/how to use it. I went through DEPENDENCY HELL to get my system working. I learned quite a bit in the process, though, so there's that.
  10. Muh Boys had 10 penalties in the first half. Most teams don't have that many in the whole game. Our red zone offense is atrocious. We have no problem getting to the red zone but once there we can't do anything. What an ugly loss. It could be worse, though. I could be a Broncos fan. Also, silver lining: Rico Dowdle is elusive as ****. How has this guy not played for 3 years? Oh that's right, we had Zeke.
  11. It sure seems like an either or when the Biden Administration keep sending money to Ukraine and doing jack diddly squat to help its own people. If it's not an either or then why aren't they doing both? You can write it's not an either or thing all you want, but in practice it's an either or thing. The record speaks for itself. Contrary to popular belief, Murica doesn't have an unlimited amount of money. Whenever it comes to military spending it seems like we have unlimited money to spend but when it comes to fixing problems at home, um, well, you know, we have a budget to stick to.
  12. Yes and Murica's budget is all types of ****ed up which is why our infrastructure is crumbling, the mental health crisis is out of control and getting worse by the day, and we "don't have enough money" to help our own people in need in times of disaster. But don't worry, the government will buy up the land of the victims (Hawaii's governor has talked openly about it). I'm sure they'll pay the victims a TOTALLY FAIR AND JUST price once they're properly destitute, starving, and desperate. But hey, they're going to build a memorial (and likely work with Black Rock, Vanguard, State Street or some shell company there of to build several resorts and a golf courses). I'm sure those homeless victims will feel nothing but pride and admiration when they look at said monument. Murica spends more money on its military budget than the next 10 nations COMBINED. They're talking about raising the defense budget again next year, significantly. Meanwhile, The Pentagon has failed 5 audits in a row and can't account for some ludicrous percentage like 70% or something (I'm too lazy to look it up) of its assets. The Pentagon and Biden Administration has magically found billions of dollars due to "clerical errors" for Ukraine. This has happened several times. What could possibly be a better use of our taxpayer dollars than to continue funneling it to an already ludicrously bloated department that can't keep track of its assets. CERTAINLY better to allocate more money to them rather than addressing out giant and constantly growing list of critical problems at home. Yeah, we DEFINITELY have our priorities straight. Side note: I'm sure it's nigh impossible to get an accurate number from Moscow on how much money Russia has spent on this war, but it would not surprise me whatsoever if Murica had outspent the Russians on this war.
  13. If I lived in ye ole tymes I'd probably wind up rocking a gambeson. Let's face it, I wouldn't be able to afford fancy plate armor and padded/quilted armor tends to get a raw deal in RPG systems. It was actually shockingly effective at keeping blades and arrows from penetrating. I guess the idea is similar to using a phone book these days as poor man's armor. A sheet of paper ain't stopping $#!+ but 200 sheets of paper together will stop a bullet... Well, some bullets. By that same token a single layer of cloth ain't stopping much, but a whole bunch of them quilted together is surprisingly difficult to penetrate.
  14. Approaching Vivec: Cool looking city but a pain to navigate.
  15. I've not seen or heard of the kid since. Draw from that what conclusions you will.
  16. Holy smokes is this outdated. Kane is the current mayor of Knoxville, TN.
  17. It took decades to get past floating weapons several inches behind the character's back or next to their hip in 3rd person view games and having characters with properly sheathed weapons (plenty of games STILL have floating weapons). How long until we get characters that sleep like people actually do? Just have the screen fade to black for a second then show your character in bed UNDER THE COVERS not on top of them like someone who got blackout drunk or a psychopath.
  18. Vinegar Syndrome also just put up pre-orders (at a discount) for The Prophecy Trilogy. I have fond memories of watching those movies waaaay back in the day and I'm 100% snapping that up.
  19. What's a lot more maddening to me is that we're spending more money on Ukraine rather than Maui. I'm sure that 1 time $700 the victims got plus the blanket (can't forget about the blanket!) covers all their needs after they lost everything. I get it, many people in Ukraine lost everything too, but, call me crazy, maybe the Biden administration should prioritize its own people. They've "accidentally" found more money in their couch cushions for Ukraine than it would take to rebuild every single home that burned down in Lahaina. At this point it's pretty clear Biden & Co. don't give a flying **** about Americans. To be clear, they don't give a flying **** about Ukrainians either, but wealthy and powerful people stand to gain a lot from sending money over there while wealthy and powerful people don't gain anything from sending money to Maui. In fact, they stand to gain from NOT helping the people of Maui and so not helped they will continue to be.
  20. Am I correct in assuming that the trigger for the Phantom Liberty quest chain doesn't begin until well into the game? I have 2.0 installed, If I were to start a new character now there's no chance I would get to the trigger point before Phantom Liberty releases unless I were to go FULL OTAKU, which I have no intention of doing.
  21. I knew Zelenskyy was an entertainer before he became president but I didn't know he was a sorcerer. My man recently appeared in the crowd during a speech he was giving. Impressive and definitely NOT doctored footage they broadcast to the world. /Volodymyr casts Mirror Image
  22. I suppose it could be worse. I could be a Bears fan.
  23. I'm just starting my Morrowind adventure. After arriving in Seyda Neen I opted to hoof it to Balmora rather than utilizing a silt strider; I needed to stretch my legs after being cooped up on that boat for days. On the way I visited Fort Pelagiad where I did a bit of shopping to get myself armored, though I was still lacking pauldrons and gloves (plenty of heavy armor choices but not medium). It was getting late so I decided to spend the night at the inn there and was rudely interrupted by a Dark Brotherhood assassin who was keen on exploring my insides with his dagger; nothing a steel mace upside the head couldn't solve, plus he was kind enough to leave me all his gear, which, while not my style, will fetch a pretty penny from a vendor, hopefully several pretty pennies. Moving on, I met some lady who is sweet on a brigand who robbed her and agreed to find said brigand for her. She'll have to wait a while longer, though, as getting to Balmora to see Caius Cosades is my priority (not to mention I want to get more/better gear there before I go gallivanting through the countryside). I made a quick stop at Moonmoth Legion Fort just outside Balmora and told a guard about the rather rude awakening I had experienced the prior night. He didn't want anything to do with it, but did refer me to his superior in Ebonheart. From there, Balmora was just a stone's throw away. Despite not having played this game for well over a decade, I knew exactly where to go to find Caius Cosades. He initiated me into The Blades (I didn't have a choice in the matter) and referred me to several of his associates, I guess they are now my associates too. I'm going to spend some time here getting to know the locals. First stop, the South Wall Cornerclub to get a stiff drink or three.
  24. What's stopping you? It's the clean up, isn't it? Side note: I remember many years ago hearing about places you could go and pay to go into a room and trash it. I want to say this was in Japan, but I'm not sure. That sounds like a great service. Set up a room with cheep furniture and tchochkies, charge a reasonable fee, and let the person get the catharsis of trashing a room with no consequences.
