It's really hard to say with Trey Lance because he's played so little, but the fact that the Niners had him and gave him away basically for free isn't exactly a vote of confidence. Granted, they do have Brock and he looked Purdy damn good in week 1. And yes, I wrote all that just for that lame pun. Worth.

If the Zach Wilson experience isn't to your liking we have this guy named Trey Lance on our roster. Make us an offer.

Some Ayahuasca and a darkness retreat or two and he'll be good to go.

Random video game news... the critical eyes have it

Steam is 20 years old today. In a related story, I'm so old. -
Welp, the Jets had an actual quarterback... For all of 4 plays. On the one hand, I hate to see anyone get injured. On the other, I'm happy muh Boys get to face Zach Wilson next week. On a more humorous note, I got a good chuckle out of Compulsive Pass Dropper Kadarius Toney trash talking his old team (Giants) on Instagram despite losing a few days earlier in an absolutely ATROCIOUS outing by him. He wouldn't let a bad day get in the way of his spite. You gotta respect that kind of hustle.

It's week 1, not particularly indicative of how we'll fare in the season on the whole, but I am thoroughly enjoying watching muh Boys smoke the Giants. Doing it in their stadium makes it even sweeter. Daniel Jones was either getting sacked or on the verge of getting sacked on seemingly every passing down. Either our pass rush is amazing or the Giants ran an experiment to see what would happen if you played a game without an offensive line.

For me it's this song: Nothing soothes the soul quite like The Commodores. -
Yes. I have seen the original Roger Corman LSoH, it was decades ago but I have seen it. I have not seen the play on Broadway.

I'm doing a late 80s Bruno Mattei double feature. First up: Robowar (1988) - This is what you get when you order Predator from Wish. You have your ragtag group of elite commandos led by Reb Brown who is a steep downgrade from Ahnuld, but that's how it goes. There's a legally distinct alien hunter going after them, although in this case "alien" in terms that it's strange rather than from outer space because it's a secret military super soldier cyborg experiment gone wrong, as they are wont to do. Also it's a dude in a black suit with shoulder pads and a motorcycle helmet. If you're in the market for a cheap Predator knockoff you have a lot of choices, I'd say this is definitely an above average Predator knockoff. It's 80% people walking through the "jungle" but they do just enough to keep it from getting boring. Plus the pyro guy showed up for work, you got no shortage of sploshuns. Fun watch would watch again.

Looks like you're doing your part.

I had no idea the theatrical ending wasn't the original ending. I don't generally like musicals, but there's an exception to everything and this is one of the very few musicals I like, largely on the strength of how fantastic a movie it is, musical or otherwise. I haven't watched it in probably 2 decades. I now need to watch the director's cut to see the whole original ending. The little snippets they showed here look amazing.

I've wanted to get into Rugby but it's just not popular here in Murica. I need to find a league to follow that I can watch regularly via the interwebs. I'm assuming club rugby is a thing, probably even here in the states, albeit on a small scale, and it's not just national teams.

I propose they go the Teen Wolf route and call it Switch Too. I'll probably cave and buy it eventually because Nintendo always has a handful of truly great exclusives, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

It's time for week 1 overreactions: We might as well hand the Lombardi Trophy to the Detroit Lions. @BartimaeusHow bothersome is it to have a division rival as the next Superbowl Big Game champion?

I've not played either game yet, I have Starfield installed but I'm waiting until I have enough time to dedicate a solid minimum 3 to 4 hour block (read: the weekend) to fiddle with the character creator and go through the prologue. However, if BG3 really did set a new standard then rather than cry about how they shouldn't be expected to reach such levels maybe these devs should instead step their ****ing game up, no pun intended. They can use whatever excuses they want but what I hear/read is "we're just not good enough".

I would make sure that said company at the very least took me out to a fancy dinner before it tried to romance me. -

Early this morning (really more the middle of the night) I was starting my drive to make my delivery. As I get ready to get onto I-85 N I see that the on-ramp is closed and it looks like they have I-85 completely shut down for some manner of road work, presumably paving. That sucks but not a big deal, I'll stay on the road I'm on until it runs into I-77 N and take that to where it crosses I-85 and only lose maybe 5 minutes. Half a mile later it turns out they have this road completely shut down for paving too. I'm no expert, but it seems to me that the thing to do when you have 2 roads that are both major truck routes that THOUSANDS of big commercial vehicles use every day that both need paving that are very close to each other and one serves as the obvious detour to the other would be to stagger the road work. Pave one road and use the other as a detour then when you're finished and that road is open again you can use it as a detour to the other road that you then start paving. But what do I know? Anyway, it took me an extra 20 minutes of driving through narrow roads most definitely not made with tractor trailers in mind to get back on track. It's a wonder that I didn't take out any sign posts or blow out a tire running over a curb. -
I feel like a traitor. I live in Cackalacky, sweet & tangy vinegar-based BBQ central and yet I tend to go to hot mustard for my BBQ sauce needs.

I'm impressed with how many secrets there are in Remnant 2: Illusory walls, pressure plates, passages hidden behind breakables, cliffs that look like they have nothing but death beneath them only to reveal ledges to drop down to upon closer inspection, and so on. I sometimes go back to (rerolled versions of) areas I've been to before in adventure mode to grind for materials and scrap (scrap is currency) to upgrade newly obtained weapons and mutators and I'll find multiple secrets I missed the first (and potentially second and third) time through. It's not always items I find either, sometimes it's a boss fight. I've run into optional bosses in the darndest of places.
