Ideas for a quick and dirty PoE3
rjshae replied to IndiraLightfoot's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)With the multi-classsing added in, a single-character game seems more feasible now. Perhaps with some variant of first-person perspective in a sandbox setting? It might make for an interesting interlude before a return to the PoE 1&2 format.

rjshae replied to IndiraLightfoot's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Isn't Josh Sawyer looking to take a break after PoE 2? A third game in the series may be a ways off, if ever.- is this game solid or I better wait?
rjshae replied to juanval's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)No game breaking bugs this far, although I noticed a few things that seemed glitchy or not quite right. As usual, I plan to wait for at least three patch cycle releases before delving into it seriously. All I did was give it a quick try and completed a few quests, just to get an overall feel. I'm looking forward to spending some serious quality time finishing it.- Funny Posts Inquire Within
Adult humor.- Has anyone found an eyepatch?
Is that because of the faction system? Pretty sure pirates wouldn't be all that inhibited from killing other pirates, as needed.- Update #47 - Launch Day
It's quite playable even now, so I'm pretty happy about that. But I'm going to do like I usually do and wait for a few patch cycles before I delve too far. Thanks Obsidian, this looks like it's going to be a lot of fun.- Funny Posts Inquire Within
- Just like PoE1, really bored from the outset and can't find motivation to play
Go and find something that interests you. It's that simple.- Wish PoE wizards were like DnD wizards
rjshae replied to Bleak's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Yeah, but that's kind of the problem with D&D wizards, isn't it? After a certain level they become THE dominant class. Everybody else is just there to deal with the obstacles.- Funny Posts Inquire Within

Realms Beyond is the one to watch. It's the rebirth of the fantastic-looking Chaos Chronicles game.- American accent in CRPGs. Yes or No?
rjshae replied to Amigo345's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)If it is any help -- my understanding is that the thick southern American accent is heavily influenced by the creole speech of the former slave population in the southeast, so in that regard it's a culturally blended mix; not just a dialect of British English.- Please (Paradox/Obsidian) God....
rjshae replied to whiskiz's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I for one like 'per rest' abilities. It makes you think more strategically.- The First Impressions Thread
rjshae replied to Sedrefilos's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Things I like: The voice acting of ambient conversations is a very nice touch. It feels very immersive. Lighting and shadows add a lot of depth to the environment. I really enjoy the level of detail and options in the character creation. Having more interacting ambient characters is always welcome. A few concerns: The multiclass level up progression interface is a little unclear. If I wasn't already familiar with the design goals, I'd probably be confused. It was difficult to find the combat speed slider. The repeated fade out/fade in sequences are tedious. The incentive for me is to max up specific skills rather than spreading out the points, but with two skill points per level up, it doesn't feel like I have much option in the skill progression. Changes in art style between the OM, tactical view, and intercity block transit is a bit jarring.- Funny Posts Inquire Within

- Overland map and "Overland map"
rjshae replied to Melusina's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Yes, the SoZ OM was better. This one is more akin to the OM in Wasteland 2. But the PoE2 OE does the job just fine so no concerns there.- DEADFIRE NR 1!
rjshae replied to TheisEjsing's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Yeah well, before any season starts your team is tied for first place. It doesn't mean anything at that point.- Loading screens a bit too often and too long - also cannot turn off Autosaves?
rjshae replied to stage's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Load time is still fairly slow with an SSD; not horribly so, but definitely not speedy. The fade in/fade out is also pretty sluggish.- Funny Posts Inquire Within
