Well for one you do not have to have a key and iirc you cant open such "portal" with a key you have so it can be useful i certain scenarios.

Why not? Pillars of Eternity seems to take place in high middle ages which means somewhere between 13th to 15th Century. Flintlock weapons were introduced hundreds of years later in the beginning of the 17th Century. They totally break the immersion of the game to me but I learnt to live with it. Now if the devs decide to add grenades that'll be the final straw, I agree with Cantousent when he says we're on a slope from there on. Have you ever heard of nafta throwers? Grenades are viable and certainly possible in a place that can mix early powder grenades with magic. I would not mind them as long as they are scaled properly.

To be honest I see so many screens from games I do not know. I'd love if people posting the screens would also give a note from which game it is...

Or they are just smart, and want to monetize their success with free of risk funds... it will also allow to keep their community feel involved in the development process. Free money is always good you know.

If you are cloning ME gameplay and dialogs give us at least tactical combat control and abilities + companions... On a more serious note I'd rather play STALKER or Metro for post apoc shooters and on shooters front there will be doom and shadow warrior. FO4 is a GOTY all DLCs for 75% sale steam material during some 2017 or 2018 summer sale.

Technically in Fallout 2 you could do the same, but I do not remember a playthrough where I would keep playing after the ending sequence. Everything seemed to be resolved. I doubt the FO4 will have quality of FO2 in terms of quest, dialogs and general writing, so it will more or less be just a wasteland shooter in power armor, without cars... meh....
