What ending did you choose?
sparklecat replied to dirigible's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Heh. I was going back and forth between Hylea and Berath, but went with Hylea in the end for Derrin's mom. -

8th time's the charm! And yeah, I'm sure you can cheese the fight if you get off a lucky spell before the main bad guy gets his defenses up, but it's a lot more fun if you don't. -
Move to the UK. It took me two years to even get evaluated for ADHD, my first psychiatrist decided I was a drug-seeker because I was a student at the time, and even my current one won't consider anything that's not slow-acting, which leaves me screwed if I want to do anything productive for longer than 8 hours a day.

Lol, yeah, that response was hilarious. But it totally makes sense, she should appreciate parenthood, no? How did she react to it, by the way? I went with fire. My actual motivation was death, but I figured it doesn't mesh well with her question about creation. I did choose Berath's way in the end... Hylea: ...that's circular, but yeah, okay.

Into The Fray already activated.
sparklecat replied to Nogaxeh's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
I'm getting abilities getting stuck in the final battle quite a bit, where they'll show as casting something but it never casts and I can't cancel, use something else, or move the character. Seems to be happening right after the mid-battle cutscenes; perhaps if the fight finished with someone in this state, the ability would show as already activated? It's mostly showing up with the item that lets you fire off 8 fireballs, possibly because you can spam them pretty fast so it's easier to get the timing just right. -

Choosing a faction in Defiance Bay

Would it perhaps work to get you out of the Dozens quest if you kill the questgiver? -
Yep, I left the dragon and her kid alone, and Hylea was fine with it. Also led to one of my favourite dialogue exchanges (paraphrasing here): Hylea: You spared the dragon? But the value of life is in creation; what do dragons create? Me: More dragons!

Your own source contradicts the statement; I'm not really sure how you want your second citizenship recognised on American soil for you to consider it to count. Especially not in a way that's any different to how most any other country handles the matter. I'm a dual US/UK citizen, and I certainly wouldn't consider there to be any difference.

Also, just in case anyone was worried about this, the final boss fight is not too easy. I just wiped for the third time after 45 minutes and it is wonderful. -

Hmm. There's Raedric's Keep, as well; you probably won't be able to finish it just yet, but you should be able to at least get everyone up to level 4, I'd think. -
Those charts actually exist because the pain cannot be measured, or verified. It's all subjective--what you say is an 8 might be a 5 to somebody else, etc. There is no "pain unit", no discreet measuring system. There is no way to objectively quantify pain. Yep. This is, incidentally, a large part of why people with chronic pain issues have such a hard time getting the regular medication they need without meeting with suspicion that they're junkies or the like. It's a pretty serious problem that leaves many people suffering needlessly when their doctors won't believe them on what they're experiencing. This is true. My fiance has Ehlers-Danlos syndrome; her main symptoms, beside dislocating joints and such, is simply severe chronic joint pain. I have a badly healed boxers fracture on my right hand and chronic arthritis in all of those knuckles, along with migraines. Both of us have real problems getting the pain medication we need because of this very issue. Because obviously you guys suffering from severe pain your whole life is just the price one has to pay to keep those dirty drug-seekers from getting their hands on medication they don't deserve!

So rather like with physical pain, then? Not really because as subjective as those "1-10 pain scale charts" are, physical pain may can be it can be measured, verified and more importantly denotes an underlying condition. There .... now let's talk about the supposed "phychological trauma" instead. What about it?
