  1. Your issue is likely with the lack of content. There were plenty of encounters in them but not enough quests. BG2 didn't really have Wilderness maps. There were like four of them available after you exited the Underdark and they had roughly the same content density as the BG2 ones except there was one that had a pretty large vampire encounter.
  2. People use the zoom function to determine the level of zoom they want for the game. Some people don't like the claustrophobic zoom level the game has by default (which is the level of the source art), so they zoom out.
  3. I think it is yeah, however perhaps my involvement will make my enjoyment of the game better than if I didn't get involved and didn't end up getting some of my suggestions in. It's a law of nature, diminishing returns. Good thing is most of the CONTENT will still be new.
  4. Yeah some more ranged enemies and enemies with AoE attacks would be nice. Stuff like that. The Great Wolves or whatever could have a stun.
  5. I don't like this idea because the display all unit tooltips button needs to be separated from the TAB key. They just need two different controls.
  6. It's a throwback to BG1 - Gullykin and Firewine Ruins.
  7. Most of the encounters are too easy and not tactically challenging enough.
  8. I didn't take offense, I was just providing my perspective on the reason why I test on a certain difficulty. All good bro Some people have made some "don't play on Hard then" statements when I complain about the length of the adventuring day.
  9. I don't think it's about bragging rights. I am playing Hard because I want to give feedback on the Hard difficulty because that's the difficulty I probably plan to play in the game. Haven't tried PoD though, should do that eventually when combat is better.
  10. You got your Smite-like Paladin ability Gfted1. Josh added it specifically for you http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/65025-update-71-the-heavy-hitters-rogues-and-rangers/page-11?do=findComment&comment=1412667
  11. Try it without saving, be nice to know if the defenses bug is save/load related. I haven't encountered it yet.
  12. Yeah I think Strongholds could have used more quest content BUT that said, you were supposed to be embarking on a very long journey Asylum through Underdark so maybe that's why they didn't bother. Also time. Crazy how much content they built in the 2 years or whatever.
  13. BG1 was better in some ways than BG2 though. Wilderness Maps for one. Feeling of Exploration. The Bandit Camp quest was awesome due to the simplicity. Four ways to access the area and you could steal the notes in Tazok's chests without setting off any alarms. The Iron Ore Conspiracy was a good plot as well. Also had better avatars. Durlag's Tower still beats any BG2 Dungeons.
  14. Well Eothas was blown up by a Godhammer bomb, so you never know. If there's a game that should have a holy hand grenade reference or item, it's this one.
  15. I once found it difficult to get out of a simulationist mindset, but I don't find it that difficult anymore. It's a game, doesn't have to be realistic *shrug*. For instance, as I pointed out in a thread. Combat doesn't look ANYTHING like realistic medieval/renaissance warfare.
  16. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/68431-v278-can-add-two-fireballs-to-grimoire/
  17. You can add two fireballs to your Grimoire if you load a save, open a Wizard's Grimoire and remove a spell from 3rd level and add another Fireball. You can only add two, no more no less. Two shall be the number that thou shall add, and the number that thou added shall be two ... You get the picture. Only happens for Fireball out of the spells available in the Wizard's Grimoire, but if I find any more cases of this I will add more videos to this thread.
  18. I have a Sony GDM-FW900 as well, so 1280x800 @ 120Hz for IWD, BG2 etc is pretty nice as well
  19. Nah currently the Grimoire can only hold 4 spells. It's been that way for a while.
  20. Hahah I'm everywhere! And yeah you shouldn't be able to put two fireballs in your grimoire I don't think. I'll add it to my notepad, go start a bug report and I'll make a video for you.
  21. You can only learn one of them because the amount of spells you can cast is per spell level, not per spell. Like the Sorcerer in D&D.
  22. Did you load a save game? It's possibly a save/load issue. There's still quite a few save/load issues.
