Crickets of Eternity
Anything in store regarding murky sounding dungeon ambient tracks?

For the Expansion: Belt Quivers!
I didn't say anything about any of that. But it's a fun demonstration video of short/hunting bow usage.

No room for more tactical combat?
I think Josh wanted them in, but they couldn't do it Playing like that is super boring, and you could keep enemies off your backline in the IE games too. You just had to do it the RTS way (the fun way) rather than the herp derp move a guy here and have some stupid aggro mechanic make them attack him way.

Some people will remember this guy from previous threads ... he's back

Beard Request: Patch
I think that's the kind of thing you save for when you eventually become a manager of some type.

Combat really isn't that much like the Infinity Engine games. How you select and command units is like the Infinity Engine games though.

Betabackers: Are racial bonuses important?
Well that's technically what they are for the purposes of combat, except the bonuses are grouped.

Who is going to wait till the first update before playing?
Sure - finding bugs hasn't been a problem. The fix rate hasn't been especially fast though (from what I gather). I think they would have less programming staff than on a publisher release (although, dunno - they've got a bunch of peeps to come on during post to help).

You can shift-queue actions. Uhhh then Fighting Simulators and Warcraft 3 must be turn-based "with fast" (wtf is that), because they follow the same rules as PE's RTwP system.

Betabackers: Are racial bonuses important?
Uhhh nipsen I think you might be making some stuff up or possibly having delusions about what the 'original system' actually did for characters. Go find a v278 screenshot as proof. And no, there were no hidden benefits, as much as you claim that there were.

bad design decisions
The main issue with the attribute system was not the attribute system itself, but a 'bug' in how things are calculated causing accuracy to be way more important than it should be. Obsidian made these changes before I reported that bug, so those changes are based on "Accuracy is too strong", when now it no longer should be. I'm surprised that nobody thought to double check how damage was being calculated *shrug* I think the upcoming implementation will need changing, but I think Obsidian might just end up throwing in the towel.

Could use some advice on damage reduction/mitigation/control
Lions hit for OP damage, I think they've been tuned down a bit in the latest patch. The Druids are (all) scripted to cast Blizzard at the same time which does OP damage (Level 2 spell and you can do 85 damage with it ... lol). I wouldn't be surprised if that spell has been nerfed for the next build too.

Update on the Update
Well there is still today, but BAdler usually lets us known 1-2 days in advance whether there is going to be a patch or not. He only said maybe/wasn't confident about it, which usually ends up being next week. Hopefully they'll let us know what's up by the end of the day, but I assume PAX and going gold might be higher priorities this week.

It's also best to remove all of your armor vs beetles in this version. In the next version they won't be as bad.

Try this for starters (based on an outdated version though)

Was dynamic weather a thing?
Why don't you just implement random rain? That worked in the IE games for exteriors. Travelling in the rain was a big part of BG1. So a random chance to rain on the Wilderness Areas would be good.
