  1. I agree but look at her muscles, abs and shoulders. She's got to have great stamina and strength. Shot putters are geared towards strength. The first lady would be better off with a mace. I so want to get someone to draw these two having a fight now hahaha.
  2. Yes, so unlikely You can't send EVERY able body off to fight a war. The Onna Bushi were literally trained to protect the homestead while the husband was off at war. There's a ton of other socilogical and logistical reasons why women aren't typically involved in direct war. Nevermind that there were leaders that were as incorrect in their assumptions as you are. To simply state that it's pretty damn unlikely for a woman to beat a man in armored combat is just incorrect. Nevermind that, when discussing a roleplaying game, rarely are we talking about the typical but rather the exceptional. If I was the chosen one, I would make damn sure to beat the badguy despite my evil ovaries. Becuase I'm contrary like that.
  3. I wouldn't mind more large women in games tbh As for athletic you don't want someone like this? Olympic heptathlon champ.
  4. OMG THEY TOOK THEIR HELMET OFF FOR THE PICTURE CLEARLY you are so picky Boobplate is a bad idea with armour too btw you would easily get stabbed as the blade would redirect to the centre of your chest
  5. Nice! I defintely don't mind a slightly feminised look to armour. We don't have to rock a full on onion knight look Very flattering xD
  6. Considering Josh Sawyers post at the start of this thread, the chances that they listen to you is probably zero. *SAD FACE* Is it only me who thinks that women look pretty god damn epic in full plate mail? Yeeeeeah. I mean come on guys, that's attractive don't tell porkies now.
  7. Tbh my main issue is mostly with the NPC's. Sometimes they can be a bit pandering. But i'm okay with that as long as I can toggle their clothes so it doesn't look like I'm running a brothel
  8. As long as there is a choice not to wear them I'm fine with that. A bit like Avernum with the scantily lady and the full armour lady. Let's take fallout vegas for example there are tons of mods to make skimpy outfits for women. It's not like I go and rage at them. What you do in a single player game is fine by me. I wouldn't want NPC's looking like strippers though. That character in the Kickstarter vid seemed okay with me if she is in it. Boob plates are fine with me too.
  9. Please tell me how it effects you if there is a choice to be male or female. Just not choose the female character? I know I'm a freaking genius right *Jazz hands* (Aside from the fact that the idea of Obsidan not having that choice is ludicrous)
  10. misogynerds! *spongebob rainbow* Seriously guys. Sure it's a fantasy, but women play video games too and some of us like our female characters to look like more than swimwear monthly models. Let us have some power fantasy as well don't hog it all to yourself. I'm not saying there can never be sexy ladies but at LEAST let the player characters look respectable. I don't think that's really too much to ask. I would accept male characters to have more strength but women to have better constitution.
  11. Problem is, if anything Wizards in IE games are best for their utility in combat than their dps power. Especially IWD 2, I think (since it doesn't use 2e). I was thinking. Magic should be very limited, because otherwise you may find yourself casting 10 lightning bolts a battle and (due to gameplay reasons) it will take you 5 of those lightning bolts to kill a human being. Therefore, to keep magic from being nerfed for the greater good of Balance, overall spellcasting should be limited no matter if the system is Vancian or otherwise. But to keep the tactical and strategic depht of Vancian, I believe that memorization should still play a part in combat, by making spells actually practical. If a un-memorized 'magic missile' has a unreasonble cast time, then you should memorize it if you think it will be useful in the coming adventure. I agree with magic being limited somehow. The balance between utility and damage is important, I think. If the utility spells took a lot of resource to cast they would deter you from using them in combat correct? But you might buff your party before a big, expected, fight and then get your energy back somehow. (out of combat pots? faster regen?) and then once you were in combat the cheapness of fireballs or whatever would encourage you to stick to those but then if someone cast a stun or something you would have to make a judgement call whether to cast a costly utility spell to counter it. I hope im making sense :3 I like memorisation as a feature.
  12. How about utility spells are permanantly known but use a lot of energy and dps spells are learned on rest (so you can't spam and overpower) and use a small amount of energy or vice versa. I don't know, I'm just trying to think of magic use in a lot of games I've played and how they play out in combat.
  13. Okay, I was just trying to be diplomatic. I don't like TBC personally but I was trying to at least throw him a bone
  14. I don't like turn based systems very much they are way too slow for me. I'd still play the game of course but I'd massively prefer real time with pause. It allows me to play at me own pace. If anything a good compromise is to have a toggle, that might be a nice stretch goal.
  15. I'm on the side of attractive women. That is to say women can be sexy without being 'over sexualised.' You see how the woman at the bottom is dressed more appropriately to her situation but is still attractive? I certainly don't want chainmail bikinis. Lol. Also it's funny how people will defend the lack of reality on this topic but god forbid you should ask for a female character in COD. (Not that I would ever play COD )
  16. I agree with you somewhat about the main character. Roleplaying is nice and all but it would be nice for my character to MATTER in some way. I know the devs leave it bland to let the player slide into their position but that can really make you feel distanced from what is happening in the game. The most extreme example of this being Diablo 3 where you felt like little more than a minion of the cast of characters. Imoen's promotion to Bhaalspawn in BG2 bothered me in this way. For once I'd like for the main character to be central to goings on and not just some faceless guy who acts like a interviewer in an NPC reality show, if that make sense. I think the key to unlocking this problem might be consequences of behaiviour becuase then you feel like you have some influence on the world and your character IS a character. Just a thought.
  17. I'm torn between Fallout style and BG style :< I think it was Baldur's Gate where you could actually travel to an area through fields and suchlike and do stuff on the way but also select areas you had already been too? I hope I'm not remembering that wrong. Icewind Dale felt a little smaller and contained than BG too. So I have those seperate in my head. Fallout and Arcanum was fun with the exploration though....can't decide.
  18. I would like it to be like Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale. I was pretty much content with that aesthetic and I love artistic backgrounds.
  19. From the way Tim Cain was referring to it as a 'pure fantasy RPG' I doubt it. I'd have loved some steampunk though
  20. What if zombies were a playable race for your character? Hmm not sure if want. It might be quite amusing if it made you have like minus charisma all you could say was brains and some NPC's 'flee in terror' at your presence.
  21. I like the idea of Dark Souls you can use potions, but when you are, you are exposed to potentially more damage and healing spells are limited between rests.
  22. Fancy edging why do you mock me so! I think it looks great. 'Dyrwood' is a bit Jim Darkmagicesque but I can live with it. Seems like a good big area too I hope there some sense of travel in the game like in BG1.
  23. NO Thank YOU "Project Eternity will take the central hero, memorable companions and the epic exploration of Baldur's Gate, add in the fun, intense combat and dungeon diving of Icewind Dale, and tie it all together with the emotional writing and mature thematic exploration of Planescape: Torment." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TURI6iDdbac&feature=player_embedded I don't think I've ever been so excited at a game announcement before....
