  1. Pretty much this. I've been giving to Kickstarter campaigns since April 2011. I've given as low as $5 and as much as $250 to various projects depending on a lot of factors. I know what it's like to go "Ooh! Just $10 for that? I really *should* do that!" I know what it's like to do that all the way from $20 to $150. And I know how that phenomenon across a wider base of backers can really surge a campaign. It's their campaign. I'm owed nothing other than the game they've chosen to promise and the rewards they've chosen to associate with my chosen tier. I also know how dangerous it can be to UNDER-price physical goods, and I would hate to see them set up a situation that would bleed money and hurt the game. I'm just worried that they're being overly conservative, moreso than any other Kickstarter I've ever backed, and their dollar amount per backer has obviously suffered relative to similar projects. Project Eternity: 45$ Broken Sword: 55$ Double Fine: 38$ Wasteland 2: 48$ ofc this dont take into account pay pal. And the information (for PE) is abit old.
  2. Have we come to the stage where people dont even know what a expansion pack is anymore =(? Its just sad... This is not day one dlc... Its a expansion pack that will be released 6 months (give or take) after release.
  3. Hmm i guess they wont make a physical copy of the expansion then ? (sad)... This is not day one dlc... The expansion will be released 6 months after (give or take?) the main game release date. Expansion as a addon? Well... Some of the prices here make me facepalm... 10$ for the expansion? You know the prices here now are unique for the kickstarter right? The price will be higher once they sell the game thats why 10$ is crazy for a expansion. Anyway maybe the should make a 180$ tier or so that have the CE box and all the physical items and then also the expansion / WL 2 and so on? (the 180$ pledge was just a example). That way people that want a box can still get it without making a 110$ jump. Beside that not much for me in this update beside the expansion and the art. Cant wait for the next update \o/
  4. I think BG handled it in a good way. A few parts here and there at important events and Irenicus... I dont want full voice acting and i dont want a voice for the main character.
  5. Yes thats one of the games that handle it that way. Its annoying... very annoying.
  6. This is a major problem i have with a lot of "this gen games"... You see enemies (friendly) in the distance on the road... You also see some enemies hiding behind some bushes and ontop of the small hill on the side so like any normal person you would you know... sneak around them as its obviously a trap. So you start to sneak around them and then "teleport" and you get to watch the awesome cinematic go "HAHAHA fool it was a trap" and you are like: "... yeah i know". Now you are on the middle of the road with archers and mages firing from the flanks. Please avoid this.
  7. not everyone will have the steam version Yeah, yeah, I've read the arguments that people use to justify piracy (2DBoy listened to those arguments as well and World of Goo had an 82% piracy rate without DRM), but have you ever attempted to find anything on the Nexus? It's a usability nightmare. Steam is like every other DRM version out there... In other words it dont stop piracy in any way .Also like someone else said... If there is a DRM free version of the game im going to get that. Anyway the update overall makes the spell system look okey. Im sure the devs will tweak it as they go along. I dont like exclusive items whenever its cosmetic, vanity or not. But thats just my opinion. If i had a choice i would allow anyone to have that item.
  8. So would it still be possible to get the benefits from it? Such as the Project Eternity shirt? Cheers. Yes atleast thats how it work for wasteland 2. Ofc there is nothing say that Obsidian will do this but most likely they will. You can increase your pledge / select a reward.
  9. No but most likely you will be able to increase your pledge at a backers website like what wasteland 2 have.
  10. Well im not saying that it should give them a free pass on bugs and so on. However sometimes there are bugs even "patches" can cause bugs and so on.
  11. Good day everyone! This topic will be about the console and mods. Everyone here have most likely played a game where they have encountered a problem. The npc didn't give you the item, the door is did not get unlocked, the npc actor did not spawn, the trigger for the quest did not activate, you did not get moved to whatever zone and so on. So what i hope is that Obsidian will sit down and make a console that allow people to use commands to get around problems in case they happen. List of commands that should be in the game (with a few tweaks) Spawn NPC actor Spawn item Increase / decrease reputation Move all party members to zone + x,y Trigger script's -Quests -Start actor conversation -Traps -Unlock/lock -Specific events within quests and other encounters Experience, stats, skills, spells, god mode. Features: *If you have the console on then you can mouse over ANY object within the game to get information including the quest journal and get a list of the "important" triggers for it and the quests command line itself, if you mouse over the terrain you will see the zones name and x,y location. If you mouse over a npc you will see its script name also and so on (traps, chests) *Easy to use scrolling and smart function. If you start to write a command: /Spawnactor E Then if you scroll you should have a list of all the "actors" that start on the letter E Same with items and the commands themself you should be able to see and scroll to find the ones you want. Comments? Flames? More commands that might be important? Trolling? Cookies? Lets move on to "mods" We know that we will most likely not get any tools to help us make mods / content for the game. But i still have a thing that i hope Obsidian will think about when they make the game. What is that you might ask? Well most people here have most likely at some point used a "fanpatch" of some kind. What i hope that Obsidian will do is to make it "easier" for people to change, mod and fix problems within the game. They should have a good file structure that is easy to poke around with. It should be easy to "add" things to the game itself by having the game check a folder for any changes to the game (for example a place where you can add a fan patch). Comments? Flames? Anything else that should be added to make it easier? Trolling Cookies? So what do everyone think? Good? Bad? I do hope that Obsidian keep these things in mind as they work on the game to make it easier to fix, easier to make fan patches for and the ability to get around bugs that might happen. Thanks for taking your time to read!
  12. There are people that lowered their pledge away from the CE because the normal version is plastic O.o? Anyway big boxes would be more expensive to make now days. I guess they could have a some what higher tier with a box... But still... I dont see much point to it.
  13. Well i think larger "jumps" with more details on how it will expand the world... For example lets say you get 1million extra then you go add a "expansion"sized content to the game... 2 new classes, new races, New features, a few new regions, new factions, another "dungeon (maybe a ruined castle?), More items and item "types" (for weapons) another companion, expanded spell system, more music a "main" town or a large town, "secret" areas that require puzzles to find. ^-- (Just a example as i dont know enough about the game to say how large a expansion could be) Beside that i guess you have to bring in certain people to the project that most people want... Tools to edit the game. And then it would ofc be good to go out and say some "general" information on how large the game is in comparison to some other game. That way its easier for people to go like "wow there is going to be that many new "areas" within the game and each is the size of a area in BG? Also i like the general idea to tie the number of backers with some kind of goal also.
  14. Im not sure... its to... How should i say it? There is to little information. Take the dungeon... How large is one level temple of elemental evil level size? Are there only going to be creatures in there? Any puzzles? Secrets? Then you have crafting / enchanting its hard in my opinion to get excited over a system that we dont know anything about. "You can craft and enchant" Great... ... How is it going to work again? I do however like the idea of having backer numbers tied to a goal to improve and expand a feature.
  15. True, US would benefit from an English translation. Sorry i though we needed more advertising to get going in US... We will see what happens when paypal open.
