Hard to say where we'll end up. I was looking at DFA's kickstarter page and noticed that they promised regular update videos exclusive to kickstarter backers....I think it worked. Maybe if Obsidian did something like this but managed to include their paypal supporters they may attract additional backers. Just a thought.

Indeed, now that we have reached 3 million the really important stretch goal is out of the way. I very much look forward to owning my own stronghold in PE.

This is kind of what I was mentioning earlier....they need to do something great with their updates.....they have two updates left before kickstsrter ends.

Interesting and rather nice update but short....not much to it really which makes me wonder weather it will be enough to maintain and increase momentum in the final days. I really hope we see the 3.5 mil become reality but I don't know if I should dare rise my hopes here. The cookbook is a neat idea and I may even enjoy reading it....anything more an I might cause an apocalyptic disaster. Let's hope it helps bring in new backers. Also 60k backers means the mega dungeon now has an 8th level.....for that I am happy.

It's going to be close for the 3.5 and Obsidian will need some mind blowing updates to up the pledges. We saw a large increase following the expansion being available as a $20 addon but this interestingly seemed to also come from ne backers as thousands have poured in since....around 5k of them or so. I wonder if they have anything that else that can really incite such a reaction or stronger. Beyond that there are also likely to be plenty of last second pledgers who don't want to miss out. I know they count paypal funds towards stretch goals but I haven't seen them count paypal backers towards dungeon levels yet.....I wonder if they actually do.

2,904,199 now and by the looks of it we'll have our stronghold no later than tomorrow. Additionally we are getting insanely close to the 8th level of the dungeon(less than 100 backers away) and will likely be done by the time today's announcement rolls around so I am very much looking forward to that. Unfortunately we are still 19k likes away from getting another dungeon level via facebook so that seems highly unlikely to happen. Beyond that I will keep my hopes high that we can touch the 3.5 mil mark so that we may see a second glorious city rise in Project Eternity.

If we grow at DF's rate over the last day spike we will end up at nearly 3.7. Even if we're only growing at W2's rate, we'll probably manage it with paypal. They won't have a stretch goal for 10th dungeon level. They've been asked how far they want it to go and they stated the number 15 as being their target....you won't see a stretch goal for this.

I agree and will be surprised if we reach 9. I think most of our cash flow will start coming from people who have already donated as to new backers, except for the last day. I for one will be backing the project on the final day before the kickstarter ends. The reason for this being, I need to see where I'm at financially and decide if I can afford the 250$ kickstarter or not, which is the one i'm aiming for since they upgraded that collectors book to hardcover for the 250$ backers. Surprised if we reach what 9? You mean 2.9? We'll fly past and blow 2.9 out of the water.....we'll definitely reach 3.0 mil, that is just about guaranteed, 3.5 may be a bit tough but certainly doable at this point. I meant 9 levels of the dungeon, we'd need... another 3,000 or so backers. Still need to hit 7 and 8 though . I hope we do it but I'd be surprised if we did. I wouldn't be....the pledged amount and pledgers will skyrocket once again in the final 3 days....hell you can see the start of this ascent now. We passed 57500 backers ~ 12/13 hrs ago and now we are 58407....more than 900 bringing us close to ~1800-2000 a day. I wouldn't be surprised if in the final day we get north of 5000 pledgers.

I don't think they'll want to keep Justin Sweet secret until the last day because his announcement will undoubtedly be moving pledges forward....they'll want to give it 2 or 3 days time of influence I think.

That's my concern. Which kind of sucks because a new big city would be amazing. Maybe Obsidian can swap the $3 and $3.5 million stretch goals. That's defeatist talk, soldier! Report to your commanding officer immediately. I just want to express my great disappointment in any and all who would surrender the stronghold for a big city!! And 3.5 is most definitely possible....the final days' spike has barely just begun....the last two are going to be insane.....so yes this certainly can happen but it'll be close.

Personally I think they are keeping Justin Sweet as a surprise announcement/bonus for when we'll inevitably reach the big 3. As for the mega dungeon i think we'll manage to reach/break 10.

He'll announce his involvement in the PE soon! I WANT TO BELIEVE! This is a bit much to be mere coincidence....if he took his site down temporarily he's doing something with it and I too have a feeling he'll be announced to be working on PE though I don't think it'll be stretch goal related. And speaking of stretch goals I think it's time for a happy dance....with kickstarter at 2,772,471 we have definitely passed the 2.8 mil mark with paypal. It's time to welcome George Ziets to PE!!! So this is likely to be announced as achieved tonight. Facebook is ~1k likes off the mark but there are still some hours to go. Regardless, if it doesn't happen today it'll happen tomorrow so that's another dungeon level ready.

No they don't seem to be counting the above-ground portion(tower thingies) as levels although I have to admit it would be a nice touch if we could explore them too. Either way level 7 is just about guaranteed and we're quite likely to make another 2 or 3 from the backers that will flood in during the last few days so no complaints from me.

I would love nothing more than to see Obsidian make 3.5 mil but it's going to be very tough. I'm trying to find a way to upgrade to the $250 package. I don't think it'll be much of a problem because when you commit your credit/debit card is verified and you'd have to be an idiot to commit to funds you don't have or risk overdraft. There's bound to be a couple but not really enough to put a dent in the total pledged amount. The only other way is if backers cancel their pledges but that will be reflected by the final displayed number so it'll be taken into account up front.

I doubt it....besides I'll be perfectly fine without any paladin and chanter companions.

The stronghold at 3.0 mil makes me a verry happy camper.....this is nearly guaranteed to happen at this point. The second big city I would absolutely love to see implemented but seems like a long shot with 3.5 mil so I'm not getting my hopes up on this one. Still...amazing update.

I got to say that this is an amazing update....I am very much looking forward to the stronghold which will more likely than not happen. The second large city would be amazing but 3.5 mil seems a bit iffy.....it certainly CAN happen if the spike in donations during the final days is big enough but still seems like a long shot so I won't get my hopes up on this one.

Which makes me wonder why he's not saying anything....that update has been coming for nearly an hour now. Did kickstarter freeze? Is Obsidian still editing it or what? The big question is whether it's worth waiting for?
