Now unless I'm missing something add-ons cannot be selected until the survey Obsidian will email us at the end of the kickstarter correct? We simply add the funds now and then in the survey we get to select what the extra funds that go beyond the selected reward plus shipping are for. Does that sound about right? If so it'd be great to add this to the FAQ on kickstarter.

Updated my pledge to 188 for the Expansion!!! Thank you so much, I was really at odds with no expansion pack unless I gave up the physical CE and items or jumped to the $250 tier.

If you wanted another class...
Darth Trethon replied to Gecimen's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Sounds like fun.....but that's pretty much the kinds of powers a Cipher would have.... -
Well the update they did was half ok....bringing back George Ziets should definitely prove worthwhile but the 2.7 mil mark left a lot to be desired and is something of a detriment to the game by bringing it up to four religion obsessed classes(Priest, Monk, Paladin and Chanter) that's more than one third of all classes. Beyond that I have been thinking long and hard about the tier options at hand and ultimately what I'll do is stick to the $140 tier. I can reserve Wasteland 2 or buy it at release which in turn leaves me with everything except the expansion pack which I suppose I can purchase at release and hope Obsidian does not pull any nasty surprises like exclusive content or early release for kickstarter reservations.

I don't think we were asking for physical add-ons as much as we were asking for a new physical tier altogether between $165 and $250. Most $140 pledgers can't add $120 to go to the $250 tier and don't want to lose out on the physical benefits of the $140 tier so why not make a physical tier at $180/$190??? Mouse pad is cool but not really what I had in mind.....most people want the expansion at a non-digital tier more affordable than $250. Not only paladins but chanters now? Are you serious Obsidian? On top of Monks and Priests.....that's four classes that all do the same thing....preach. That's more than one third of all 11 classes. What's this....a worship along game? I mean what comes next? If the player doesn't stop to pray every 3 seconds the prayer meter depletes and the game ends? As far as George Ziets goes that's great I suppose.....still I was rather hoping for an actual game update.

PE already inspiring others
Darth Trethon replied to norolim's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Not me.....they lost my interest at the "Shaker" Corporation part....it just made me roll my eyes. That's like calling it "Evil" Corporation.....that it may be but do you seriously have such little imagination that you can't come up with a proper name for it? Not to mention that their kickstarter page only ever mentions how "Old-School" their "Old-School RPG" is but the kickstarter has to reach $2 million for the "Seriously Old-School Player Enhancements" to be implemented because clearly before that it won't really be "Serious" about how "Old-School" their "Old-School RPG" is...... -
So far I've been set in my decision that I'll stick to the boxed CE version of the game over the all digital $165 tier but I'm starting to have doubts and they focus around a couple of key points: 1) Will there be a difference in terms of game content between the boxed CE and the regular digital copy? We really have no idea what the CE will contain besides a fancy box and my greatest reservations revolve around this point. I don't want to "upgrade" to the $165 tier only to find that too bad so sad I'm left out of game content exclusive to the CE. 2) I mainly want to help fund Obsidian and Project Eternity but what does the inclusion of Wasteland 2 mean to that exactly? Different kickstarter, different team with the only real connection being Chris Avellone supporting that project and writing a novel for it as well. So if I move to a tier with Wasteland 2 in it does that mean that a portion of the money I pledge goes to the Wasteland 2 team or have they been promised a portion of PE profits. Perhaps they have just been promised payment for the amount of copies given from PE profits....or are they just giving it for free? Perhaps this is the payment they feel is due to Chris Avellone for writing the Wasteland 2 novel? For me as it stands the difference from my present pledge of $168 to the $165 tier is a $5 addition. Ultimately I just felt sort of screwed by this choice because I don't want to give up my boxed CE but also want to reserve the expansion now to avoid nasty surprises later.....like having to wait another month or missing on certain in-game bonus/addition because I didn't reserve it via kickstarter pledge. Thoughts? PS: before someone mentions it, no I cannot upgrade to the $250 tier.

Yes, OP indeed you are 1,000,000,000% correct. Happy dance time for the single greatest upgrade the game is likely to get!!! The Cipher class. What that statement in the paypal section says is that if the game had not reached 1.1 mil the paypal donations would not have helped. But they will be counted towards stretch goals because the project has been successfully founded so they will receive all the money pledged. Aside from that we have also achieved another level to the dungeon between kickstarter and paypal.....the kickstarter is something like 36 pledges short of the 55000 so that one is accomplished as well. But paypal aside we are very close to sealing both of these great milestones through kickstarter alone in a matter of hours. Looking forward to seeing what 2.7 mil and beyond will bring us.

He's not whining, he's offering constructive criticism. There's a difference. We beg to differ. The dude is saying "I want more for less." Like a game like this pops up every other month. I upped my pledge over the weekend knowing it wouldn't get me to another tier because I support the Kickstarter. I understand, I myself am pledging $168 but the $165 move for the expansion is still a bit much. Not saying it should be given at $20 tier but maybe as a separate addon for $10 or included from $100/$110 and up.

Unless I misunderstood, which is possible, the wait is only for those that don't get it through pledging.... You did misunderstand. The wait is for everyone. Then I don't really care, I'll pay at release but my points stand.....more would pre-pay now if available separately and/or included at $140.

Several comments on kickstarter are bringing up the issue of this expansion being day one DLC held for high ransom and I gotta agree......this move is a bit too greedy and inaccessible.
