  1. I believe some Beth fans somehow cannot grasp non-linear story that isn't dosed to them using various wow-moments. To directly quote from a discussion today: Bethesda is just giving the majority it wants, it seems. Too bad it's not Fallout, heh.
  2. If by "story" you mean the main story line then maybe (aside from Fallout 3 and Tactics, which were just meh to say the least). If you mean writing in general, then gods have mercy on your soul.
  3. Playing Wasteland 2 and I keep wondering why 10% chance to fail critically is more like 50% in reality.
  4. Well ... duh. It's a Bethesda Game Studios game.
  5. Wow, what a disaster. Directed cinematic 4-option dialogues with a voiced protagonist? Absolutely disgusting. Obsidian, please, if you get to do another "in-between" Fallout, try to avoid this rubbish. Unless, of course, the community here likes this limiting Mass Effect-esque dialogue.
  6. Is this for real? Edit: It is according to the tweet, eh. Well frack, everything is going to hell. All right, could someone do an "in memoriam"? What has Chris done on Pillars, FNV, AP, F2, etc? That'd be nice.
  7. Heh, I still have to discover that. I just snapped a photo and then tucked it back to the pretty box it came in. Something might happen to it ;_;
  8. So I just got my Kickstarter swag and people started asking if they can buy that as well (not signed) nowadays, is that possible? I presume it's not, but asking won't hurt, hopefully.
  9. Painful struggle? Citation needed. The only struggle I recall was caused by closure of THQ. The censoring wasn't done by countries, but by Ubisoft for "marketing reasons".
  10. Actually EA owns them (At least for non-mobile videogames) Actually they have an exclusive rights to them, ownership is still at Disney.
  11. It indeed is a very anti-consumer behaviour. And you support it.
  12. I finished it for the second time so yeah, I also wish they made a new SP.
  13. Ha, good one, but no, I'm not following that path of discussion as it would end up on "what is a word?". But I hope you did read everything else from that Wikipedia article. Also, I've just finished KOTOR2 (with the content restoration mod) and unlike KOTOR1, I actually intend to play the game again. Especially knowing what will come, because the way my Atton was made, he couldn't win the last combat :<
  14. I haven't played any of the Origin-only Bioware 'adventures', so I'm gonna say KOTOR1 and Fallout 3, can't decide. Well, I treated NWN more as an aRPG, I guess that's why somewhat enjoyed it (as a spell caster).
  15. And for those interested in Age of * games in general http://store.steampowered.com/app/266840/
  16. Heh, unfortunately no, if it still was a thing, it would have actually developed in the many years it has existed for.
  17. Yeah, after finishing the first game, I finally got around to start this, so I just wanted to express my gratitude to all who worked on fixing it. After experiencing the buggy mess KOTOR1 is, I broke my rule of playing every game unmodded first and installed TSLRCM, heh.
  18. Defenders of the deal are always talking (only) about Instagram, but that was a company with already fully developed good economy, not a startup-ish HW developer. As for FB supporting open software, of course they do, they use it in their servers. However, I'm not aware they have ever supported consumer-side open software. Also the article is anything but good if it starts with "Why You Shouldn’t Worry about..." Here's and something I can relate to
  19. Of course they are, I really enjoyed DS3 . But I don't think it makes it less valid or anything. Obsidian has been getting further from "the RPG maker" for a while, but I don't think it's not due to unwillingness of making an RPG. They just don't want to end up like Troika. It's market and customers. I hate people... (for not liking the same thing I like )
  20. I'm pretty sure they subserved that problem already, you know. Project Eternity? Yes, they can make a (relatively) low-budget game like PE, but Kickstarter itself can't finance large games like AP, NWN, KOTOR, FNV... and I bet that Obsidian doesn't want to live off "small" games with no guarantees. To my understanding, concerns in OP have arisen because of "large" games.
  21. Irregardless is not a word. I'm actually going through KOTORs now and I can't help myself but feel that the original KOTOR is one of the buggiest messes I've had the displeasure to deal with. And I can't blame age for that, NWN is even older and is a smooth experience. So I don't understand why is the sequel getting all the flame, while the first game is praised by the general public as a masterpiece...
  22. So many wrongly used apostrophes here... Anyway, I'm quite sure Obsidian is doing only what publishers allow them to do. If none of them is willing to finance a good RPG, then there is little Obsidian can do.
  23. I'm not exactly fond of the website (scrolling-only navigation, hnnngh), that the forums are separate, the name. Other than that sure, why not. I wish best of luck and am looking forward to more information (as the site is pretty scarce on any real information).
  24. A cut from the sales after release of course. Well, that's not very specific, is it. And for the record, I'm not implying that I have any rights to know the details of the deal, I'm merely curious about dealings of my favourite game studio.
