It's simple. The images you click on (weapons, NPCs, wallpaper) are all shaded blue or red. click on red, you go ds. To test this, you will see that the wallpaper choices don't switch like the rest do, just click on it, wait, click again, wait, repeat

This doesn't answer his question/point about why they are physically affected. The DS of the Force only affects FORCE USERS with regards to their deteriorating physical appearance. Dismemberment, according to the ESRB site, would have to carry a rating of G for gore. Blood just means realistic depictions of blood (aka, it's red)

hence why it may be in the prequels
