  1. Everything will still be the same, though. It will just take longer to deal with the enemies.
  2. Actually, in my opinion, as far as Civ games go the defining game is the original because, well, duh! Another problem I had with the list was calling RE2 a survival horror game, as I've always felt that RE games, despite all their qualities, were never really horror games in the same way that Silent Hill or SS2 were. Also, a few sentences really struck me as dumb: "Half-Life is, and still remains, the shining example of what can be done with the FPS genre not only in terms of narrative storytelling but in terms of overall design." "Yes, we know hardcore PC RPG nuts will no doubt lament the choice of Fallout over other notable titles like Oblivion" Gah!
  3. Not really, because thematically, the gameplay is completely disjointed from the rest of the game. And as it is a GAME, I'd say that's a pretty huge dent in its thematic armour.
  4. Of course. Anyway, I just read through the whole article, and I have to say that I think it's mostly an uninformed take on the nature of game genres. Just pointless.
  5. Oblivion? Right, all credibility right out the window then. And as Steve points out, considering how little is known about FO3, calling it a worthy heir is obviously a prediction of nostradamus-like magnitude. WHich is to say, total BS. I think that by "worthy heir", they meant games that haven't been released, but that they feel will keep that game's particular genre alive.
  6. I'd advise you against it. The moronic AI and the unchallenging gameplay really make it a pretty bad straight shooter. Really, circle strafing is the only thing you need to deal with 99% of the enemies. Also, because the story is, in many ways, a critique of the straight shooter design paradigm, everything about Bioshock just becomes extra painful.
  7. Awesome!
  8. Just in case you didn't notice my post in the last page, MotB is just so, so awesome. The Obsidianites really outdid themselves. Spent the whole day playing it when I should be working. Thanks, I think.
  9. MotB is awesome! I really, really like the party members.
  10. Insufferably brilliant, you mean.
  11. There's a problem with the arcane spell list. There are a bunch of selectable placeholder spells, and a few of them don't have icons.
  12. MotB crashed on me after the first dungeon... Back into the game.
  13. Getting? How about wanting? I want The Witcher.
  14. Awesome! Don't fail me Tale!
  15. Do you use automatic updates, or something?
  16. I'd say System Shock 2. If I could pick a game to completely forget about, and experience all over again as if it was the first time, it would be SS2.
  17. Chris really is great. His blog almost makes me want to join MySpace. Almost. I still think it's evil.
  18. Jiggletech doesn't go that far. Aribeth was still a pretty awful character.
  19. Look what I found. Try this instead. I'm fine, only slightly oranger.
  20. This one.
  21. I don't care. The important thing is that you should have posted "Go NADS."
  22. You mean NADS.
  23. The only game that gives current cards trouble is Crysis. Unless you want to play all games at ridiculous resolutions of course.
  24. At a store?
