Assuming Peragus is not a planet, I wouldn't be surprised if Hoth Jr. was Rhen Var. Rhen Var being a planet connected to Ulic Qel Droma.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Bio, Obsidian, or Lucasarts ows WotC nothing. WotC has to pay Lucasfilm the rights to use SW and not the other way around for d20. d20 has an Open Gaming License.

Mixed bag. I enjoyed some of the early novels and comics before I outgrew it. Plus the decline in quality due to quantity.

Powergaming has been around since the first batch of RPG books were published. It's all about studying the rules systems and using that knowledge to your advantage as you create your character. Often times it involves "nerfing" your character initially to reap higher gains for the long run. This practice has been in use since rpg's were translated into crpg's. There's nothing wrong, or unethical about it. Many like to roleplay their characters. Others like to powergame. ...not that I uhh....partake in such activities, mind you...

Try out Heir to the Empire. If you don't like that book, then it's not worth getting the rest of the series...let alone any other Star Wars book. I think you'll like it.

Dave Gaider, Luke Kristjanson, and James Ohlen characters I've experienced many, many, many, many, times over. And I'll play many more of their characters in the future. It's been a looooong time since I've played Chris Avellone characters. It'd be nice to hear about the old characters in cameos. But I'd rather play characters that Avellone and co. can rightly call their own.

If DSM doesn't want to buy the game just because there's no DL content and his feelings are hurt because of it, that's his prerogative. If he didn't enjoy the story from the first game and doesn't think the new story is going to be worth paying for, again that's his prerogative. Opinions are opinions, no matter how....smart or moronic.
