  1. "My biggest gripe with the game is that its totally lost the STAR WARS feel the first game had. Playing this game feels like playing Dark Forces 2, Jedi knight for the first time. Its a good game, and a good story. But...it doesn't have the same flavor starwars does." I would disagree. Not wanting to ruin anything for those who haven't played it yet...but TSL definitely has the STAR WARS feel. As in, the ESB. Maybe you're thinking it doesn't play like the K1? ---which felt like SW ANH.
  2. Which is why I wouldn't mind seeing another anthology type series. In either comic book or cartoon form.
  3. It's good to see quasi-familiar names, but well remembered personas come back. Of course, I was mostly lurking back then...
  4. You guys made an outstanding game! Thank you Feargus, Chris, Chris, Chris, and Darren for having the guts to create a startup in this relatively cuthroat business. And congrats to all the other worker bees, grunts, and peons for developing an otherwise brilliant slam dunk of a game. Blemishes and all.
  5. I'd just be worried they'd make the series like the Clone Wars cartoons with those pre-kindergarten style animations and characters. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I liked them.
  6. Yes. But as an anthology type series. Chronicling the adventures of various "knights" of the Old Republic. In cartoon form.
  7. When he joins your party, he is available for your personal customization from level 6 on. What his final starting level is at depends on the level of your pc.
  8. In my game it was around 18 or 19.
  9. *semi spoiler* Mandalore is pretty damn hi level when he becomes active in your party.
  10. If I'm recalling correctly, most start out at around six. But they automatically gain levels immediately to catch up with your PC. This includes Mandalore.
  11. Visceris is just being a silly wabbit.
  12. Ohhh...basic info like when certain classes can receive feats. It would also be nice to have information about said feats and force powers too.
  13. That's because you have the pc manual. The xbox manual is missing the nice charts that every rpger likes to study.
  14. Obviously my opinion of the graphics is subjective, but to me, they're not as impressive as the first game. However, I do admit that k2 has some sweet animations that were not in the first game. But art and graphics taken in as a whole ---do not, to me, look as pretty as the first game. A big part of the reason has to do with the stuttering problems. What good are sweet looking animations when at times, you can't see it smoothly? The art may look nice as static pictures --but not when you're playing it and the game stutters. That is a legitimate complaint. That said, the graphics are not a major complaint for me. It's not a plus for the game but hardly a game breaker. It's still an issue though. Taking in the WHOLE package, I really like this game. Very much. It's living up to the hype.
  15. Ummm....errrr.....the graphics and art doesn't look as pretty as Kotor 1. I may be looking through rose lensed glasses with regards to the original, but K2's graphics doesn't have that oooomph. It just doesn't seem to have that polish. Then again...Obsidian didn't spend 3 years like Bio did.
  16. Not like I have much credibility but for what it's worth... About 9 Hours In Art & Graphics: If you've read the professional reviews, believe them. Not as pretty as KotOR 1. Bugs/Gliches/Stuttering: Present but not annoyingly so. (This ain't a Troika game) Interface: Better than KotOR 1 Story: Captivating...so far EARLY, EARLY, EARLY, verdict: Feels just like a Black Isle game off a Bioware Engine
  17. Not the kind that you have meals on. I'm talking about the kind with numbers and words and numbers arranged on a vertical an horizonatl manner. The type that is on occasion listed on the back of rpg game manuals. The kind that was missing from kotor 1's xbox manuals but were listed on pc manuals. You! Manual writers! Where they is??
  18. A bit of a Catch-22 eh?
  19. I believe sentinels are skill oriented as opposed to feat oriented. If you've played Fallout, sentinels are like characters with the "skilled" trait as opposed to "gifted" characters like guardians.
  20. IF you know the cast...DON'T spill it here!!! Spoilers forum please!
  21. We encountered a number of minor issues during the course of the game, such as characters who'd occasionally pass through walls (no, it's not a Force power), or dialogue options that would unexpectedly throw us back into the same dialogue loop. And the game doesn't really look any better than the original, but since it tries to get away with a few new graphical effects, its frame rate is often even worse, sometimes plummeting down into the single digits during some of the more-hectic battles. Given that the game's character models and relatively small environments aren't particularly detailed or attractive to begin with, this is rather unfortunate, since a role-playing game of this caliber really deserves better. On the other hand, the lightsaber action you'll be seeing frequently throughout the second half of the game is impressive, and the characters you'll be speaking with look reasonably good, mostly because their lips (again, if they have lips) are properly synced with their speech. All things considered, The Sith Lords looks fair at best. Fortunately, graphics aren't what's most important to a high-quality RPG. ^ from the review. Sounds like a fair critique of the graphics to me. Of course, I haven't played it, but both IGN and Gamespot have the same problems with the graphics. They never said that graphics was the deal breaker. But their concerns about it are legitimate.
  22. Critiquing reviews is like criticizing the Academy on Oscar night. I guess it can be cathartic. Heh.
  23. Funny thing too... If you read the IGN and Gamespot reviews side by side without looking at the scores, Kassavin's review was more positive than Goldstein's. Yet people were dwelling on the Gamespot score while ignoring what was written while the reverse was true for IGN's.
  24. Uh? Did you happen to read the entire review and listen/read the reviewer's reasons for the score? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> To tell the truth, I really didn't see anything wrong with the review. Based on what Chris A. said, he got atleast one fact wrong with the amnesia bit...but it seemed like a decent enough review. He praised the good parts and talked about the graphics problem. Overall, it was a very favorable review which should reinforce those who are already fans and would be recommended to those who really enjoyed the original. My God, and people had a cow when IGN gave a 9.3...
