  1. I wonder what they send you if you buy some.
  2. I'm sure you could get something pretty decent for under a grand at Best Buy. I know up here in Canada at Future Shop you can get an HP thats pretty decent for under a grand. My parents just got a 1.4 with 512 megs of ram and a 40 gig HD for about 800 bucks CAD about 6 months ago.
  3. I'm not saying that its the alcohol's fault. But you can't say that if it didn't exist, there wouldn't be less incidents like that. Remove temptation and all. And we know Prohibition doesn't work. I'm saying if there was a way to completely eliminate it. Which I'm also not advocating, I like to get smashed every couple months, its fun. I wouldn't miss it if it was gone, but its fun.
  4. There would be less car accidents, college kids would do better in school, less incidents of rape, my girlfriend's mom wouldn't be losing her house due to her alcoholism... I'd say all in all we'd be better off without it.
  5. I heard they were going to go to the 70s style campy heroes next(The 50s/60s style in the first one were campy, but during the 50s/60s they weren't) Then for the 3rd game they would move into the 80s/Present day anti-heroes. I'm not complaining too much though. But it doesn't look like they upgraded the graphics much.
  6. someone hacked his website apparently. http://www.uweboll.com if its fixed before you read this, it just says "please stop making movies" EDIT: Turns out it wasn't his website. Someone just bought the domain and used it for this.
  7. Too bad he doesn't post more. The threads he participated in on the old BIS boards were some of the better ones.
  8. Do they even make external graphics cards at all? I've never heard of them.
  9. I'd like to see all the mechanics from jefferson re-used, like the reputation system, epithets or whatever they were called, the fact that people can be hostile without attacking, that kind of thing, only with a new character/combat system and a new story. Jefferson is dead, but that doesn't mean they can't pick at the corpse.
  10. The game wasn't done by Lucasarts. All Lucasarts does for Star Wars games (for the most part) is make sure the story lines work with Star Wars cannon. Obsidian programmed it since Black Isle didn't want it anymore (or Lucasarts wouldn't give it to them). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Lucasarts is in charge of QA, not Obsidian. QA Reports the bugs, Obsidian fixes them. QA obviously either A) Didn't give Obsidian enough time to fix the bugs they reported, or B) Didn't report them until it was too late... which ties into A.
  11. Blu-ray and HD-DVD should be out by the end of the year. My personal preference is Blu-ray since it costs the same as HD-DVD and holds almost twice as much. Then again, I could just buy a Playstation 3 and an HD-DVD player and be able to play both.... PS, this just in, Fullscreen has now been dubbed "Yokelvision"
  12. 1. Where did we come from (how did we get here as human beings)? We evolved from goo. 2. What is the purpose of life (How do we know why we are here)? Reproduction 3. How should we live? However we want as long as it doesn't interfere with others 4. What happens we when die? Our body's energies convert to heat and disipate. 5. How did you arrive at that conclusion? Science is my religion 6. What is your impression of Christians? Most are decent people, but the fundamentalists who are trying to impose their will on all people because they don't have enough sense to just ignore the things they don't like should be put on an island and left on their own. The way I see it just because they're bad parents doesn't mean good parents should have unneeded restrictions placed on them. 7. What, if anything, would change you views? Time Travel to the future and back. This would prove to me that everything is pre-determined and god must exist for that to be possible.
  13. Anamorphic widescreen just fits widescreen TVs better. Letterbox is widescreen meant for fullscreen TVs, while Anamorphic is widescreen made for widescreen TVs. On a fullscreen TV anamorphic widescreen tends to stretch upwards and downwards to fill the screen, unless you switch either your DVD player or TV to 16:9 mode. On widescreen TVs, it just fits fine. And yeah, I hate that too. Though even that doesn't help some people. My roommate bought Die Another Day at Wal-Mart(Who tries their best to make sure you buy fullscreen DVDs) and just grabbed one of the ones on display. They had widescreen, but they were off in the back and you had to look for them, while the fullscreen ones were up front. It says fullscreen right on the front in big letters, but he grabbed it anyway, figuring they would put the superior version on display. Gets home and "AWW CRAP" Because if you try to return it, they'll only exchange it for another fullscreen version.
  14. ISTP Introverted Sensing Thinking Perceiving Strength of the preferences % 78 22 56 11 Apparently the Fonz is an ISTP. I call bull.
  15. The general belief is that he's an amazingly charismatic guy and is a better dealmaker than most businessmen. He should be a producer, not a director.
  16. Wow...Canada is lookin' better and better... Yeah, though we have a 25 cent per CD surcharge on all blank CDs. Which can really add up when you buy a spindle of 100 cds. The RIAA is fighting to increase the surcharge to 70 cents and force ISPs to give them like 20% of their profits too. So far retail chains are against the 70 cent surcharge, to the point of having big standee ads in the stores telling people to write to their MP to make sure it doesn't happen. I'm pretty sure the judges told the RIAA to shove it with the whole ISPs giving them so much money too. The RIAA bothers me. They bitch at us about stealing when the artists behind the music they make so much money off of only gets something like 15-20% of the revenues. They're the thieves IMO. *Waits for Volourn to say its the artists fault for signing the contracts in the first place*
  17. Downloading music is legal in canada Which is good because downloading MP3s has lead to most of my music purchases. I'd say 75% of my purchases are because of MP3s I've downloaded. 25% is from band loyalty.
  18. Yeah, I can imagine that with Darque's avatar " <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Known too many guys with girls in their avatars. I should have remembered though, seeing as I've been on the same forum with her for like 4 years.
  19. I'm so glad that kind of thing isn't possible in Canada due to our property laws. We have 3 levels. Invitee: If you invite someone to your property, you are responsible for them Business: While you may not necessarily invite people to your property, you're still responsible for them. Tresspasser: If you didn't invite them, you aren't responsible. If something happens to them, its their fault. We probably have other stupid lawsuits, but nothing like all the thief breaking into someone's property and being hurt so they sue crap you hear about. I think one of the dumbest lawsuits I heard about was the guy who stuck an electic drill in his nose to get an itch and ended up ripping his nose off, so he sued the company for not telling him he can't put an electric drill up his nose.
  20. Ok, critique here. The face, excellent. Anatomy needs a little work though. The shoulders are a tad too broad, his upper-arm should be about the same length as his lower arm, and his fingers are way too stubby. Other than that, pretty good. Good 3rd Edition-esque style.
  21. Ghostbusters is one of the really bad pan & scan ones. Its almost painful to watch. With those kind you can usually change your DVD player settings to make it view in 16:9. Same with Letterbox versions on widescreen TVs. Just change your DVD player settings to... I think standard is 4:3. Anyway, heres a guy who's better at making his point than me. www.widescreen.org
  22. Make it three. I go with mEtalLL1x opinion, as long as it suits the game. I loved TB in Fallout or SSI's Buck Rogers but RT in FOT or Baldurs Gate were okay to me too. What about a TB system which switch to RT on easy fights, for example player and NCP's are on much higher level than the the enemy and it is sure you will win the the fight without any hard loss. Just an idea. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That was the only reason I ever used the RT option in FOT so I'm all for it as long as theres a fully turn based option. I'm not against Real Time in general, it was fine in BG, NWN, IWD, etc. I just feel that since Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 were both turn based, so should fallout 3. It would be like if they made Warcraft 4 turn based, its just not right.
  23. I read this on another board and just laughed at the stupidity of the american civil court system. I can't remember who said it but some comic once said "Lawsuits are what we as a society have created to make sure our morons have money." Thats pretty much it.
  24. Johnny Mnemonic is cool, its cyberpunk, Keanu plays a data courier, he stores data in his head, and the world is under the control of a pharmaceutical company because of a disease called the black shakes. They have the only treatment for it. Well Johnny is hired to bring some data to certain people, but he doesn't have enough space in his head, so he has to get to the people before his brain dies from overload, and people are chasing him trying to kill him because of whats in his head. Killer priest, dolphin hacker, and Ice T. Nothing could be better. And yeah, Constantine looks good, too bad they didn't go for Paul Bettany for John Constantine though.
  25. From a quick google search he appears to be a talented guitarist who happens to look like a complete jackass.
