Theres your first problem. Don't make complicated models. Keep them as simple as you can unless they won't do what you want them to do, then you add lines and such. Its so much easier to work with a simple model, and most of the time you can get the same results with a geometry approximated model as you can with a complex model.

That's quite a deep and uplifting thought Oerwinde <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, heard it from a guy at work one time.

Confucious says, good to meet girl in park, better to park meat in girl.

This thread should be trimmed, and renamed Fun with Religious Texts, so that we can poke fun at how ridiculous all religions are.

Sounds about like mine. Only I have onboard sound, a CD writer instead of a DVD writer, only a 19 inch samsung magicbright, and my processors were Intel Xeon. All for $4800 CAD. I do 3d which is the reason for the Dual system. If you're not doing something like that, go with a single processor system and knock 1000+ off the price.

Timothy 4:1-3 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. God hates vegetarians.

Yes. Yes I most certainly do. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hrmm, cloak needs to be less black.

They just need good marketing. "Reach AWESOME POWER LEVELS, unseen in all but the rare individuals of Krynn!" Just leave out the fact that most of the crazy uber characters in Krynn are like 5th level.

I think the whole world should convert to taoism and we all have to honor the Yin and the Yang at least once a day with a union of opposites. Preferrably male and female :D

"I specifically bought an xbox for this game because I didn't want to wait till Feb. If I would of known about these issues I would of waited." Serves him right, traitor.

maybe because you don't have to pay for them with your taxes. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> We have to pay for their representative. The governor general costs taxpayers the most of all the public officials in Canada.

what, not 10? taks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hehe, they had like a 6 game winless streak at the beginning of the season, so 7 games without a loss is pretty good.

Reason for console version appearing before PC
Oerwinde replied to ZekeWolf's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
John Morgan already said in the developer forum that the reason it was released was that the quality of both versions wouldn't be up to par if they released both in December, so they chose to focus on the Xbox version for a december release since the Xbox version sold like 3 times as many copies as the PC version of KotOR. -
I can't give it that because personally I find the PS2 to be a superior system.

Hehehe, for a minute there I thought you were talking about the Vancouver Giants. They're on a 7 game undefeated streak.

I say keep them. They're part of the British identity. Heck, they're part of Canadian identity too. They're one of the only monarchies that exists in a republic, and I say, they aren't hurting anyone, so why get rid of them? The British monarchy has existed for centuries, and to get rid of it just because they're rich and you're not doesn't make any sense to me.

yeah i agree most of the rpgs that i love dont have good graphics like suikoden 2 looked like snes graphics but still a great game (for the ps1). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It was amazing what they could pull off with those sprites though. It was almost like the whole game was classically animated.

From what I've heard Krynn is a low level world, so maybe they could fit it into the first one.
-
No, how? In fact, I thought the Blinn material looks sexier! :D Its easier to see how the curves and such work without it being all shiny. At least thats how I found it.

The Planes still exist in regular AD&D. It's just Sigil (and probably the whole atmosphere of Planescape, with 'berk' this and 'shut your bonebox' that) that have been tossed on the scrap heap. Not that it matters. I'd bet my grandmother's kidney that WOTC would veto any attempt to make a D&D game not based in one of their core campaign settings. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sigil still exists, its just not the focus anymore. I think it would be cool to do a trilogy type thing, where the first game is set mostly in Sigil, with a couple jaunts out into the outer planes, then the 2nd would be about half outer planes half Toril, then the 3rd would be like an Eberron/greyhawk one with the finale back in Sigil. First game would be level 1-6, 2nd would be 6-12, and the third would be 12-18. That would be cool.

Hehe, yeah, I went to Vancouver Film School for 3D, and there were 3 women in my class, 3 women in the class ahead of us, 2 in the class behind us, and none in the class behind them. There are 26 people in each class. Its definitely a male dominated industry.

Isn't the Lambert so much easier to work with? It was wierd, the ribcage looked a lot better, then I looked back at your original and put them side by side and it didn't look like you changed anything, in fact your old one looked better. So maybe I was just looking at it wrong. But yeah, still some proportion problems. Here's a quick photoshop showing what I mean. My changes are still a little off, I think I left the knees too low, but anyway, you should get the idea. Looking good though. Are you self taught or trained?
-
Hehehe, after seeing the mesh I can see it would be hard to fix. Look into geometry approximation, you can keep your models low poly and easier to work with. For example, this is the wireframe for the female body I posted above. I think her hips are a little off, but I think she worked out ok for a days work.

Well the troll looks good, but the woman needs some work. Mostly just proportion stuff, the shape is pretty good. Her legs are too long, her buttocks sticks out too much, and her ribs are a little off. The ribcage should have more of a round shape when you look from the side. Also, could you post a shot of the mesh for your hi-res woman? Just to see your linework. There are a few edges on the model that are too hard, need more subtle lines. Edit: Oh, a hint for you, when you're modeling, put basic grey lambert material on your model, removes the shine and makes it a lot easier to see how things look. Example Edit2: Also, which program do you use? Just looking at your troll mesh, and the 60 thousand polys is a bit much. You can get the same results with probably less than a third of those polys with geometry approximation. I know XSI has it, but I'm not sure about other programs. Mod edit: Link to photo model removed due to decency concerns.. sorry. - Phosphor

Heres another one I eventually just gave up on. http://www.atomicholocaust.com/Pictures/3d/Demon.jpg I like the arms and the legs aren't bad, but I need to pretty much redo all the muscles on his chest and stomach, and I didn't feel like doing that.
