  1. It might not have been Depp being terrible, it might have just been Gene Wilder being so much better it made Depp look terrible.
  2. Saw Narnia, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Island, and Harry Potter 4 this last week. Short take on each: Narnia: Good movie, I want Peter's armour. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: Johnny Depp was terrible, the songs were bad, everything else was good. Johnny Depp did have that one good line though "Everything in this room is eatable! Even me! But that kids, is called Cannibalism, and is frowned upon in most cultures." The Island: Predictable, enjoyable sci-fi action flick. Harry Potter 4: Disappointing. Chris Columbus needs to come back to the series. Good movie, but they cut too much. An extra half hour would have made the film so much better.
  3. Tuf Voyaging was really good too. Thats because when there gets to be too much going on in the SoIaF books, Martin kills off a couple characters. While Jordan figures "Hrmm, this plotline is almost resolved, so I better add two more to make up for it. Maybe I'll add a useless character and act like they're really important."
  4. Really? I'm nowhere near finished, but that's a shame to hear. I figured Tyrion would show up eventually. Jon was at the beginning of the book, but it wasn't his perspective, so I guess we'll get more Wall action in the second book. Seriously, he could have a whole series just on the action Beyond the Wall. The wait better not be as long, it was 4 years since the last book. Any word on a release date? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> no word on a release, but what happened waqsit was all one book, and it gottoo long to be released in one volume. My guess is the next one will be in 1-2 years
  5. Its too bad A Feast For Crows is only the first half of the book. A Dance of Dragons will be where all the good characters are like Jon, Tyrion, and Daenerys. At least the wait won't be as long for that one as it has been for this one.
  6. SuperHeroHype CHUD - Cinematic Happenings Under Development The Globe and Mail AtomicHolocaust - my website. Plus my online banking and these forums.
  7. while playing I always got annoyed when I got to points where I had to wait a few years before I could research anything else. Then I realized I had developed CG effects in 1964.
  8. My girlfriend's mom got me these. Girlfriend got me some neato DVDs, giant freaking cans of monster, and someother food items. Don't know what my family got me,need to go back home for that, and thats not until the 29th.
  9. I think they should have allowed it and included the Flying Spaghetti Monster theory just to spite them.
  10. Got 1315/Lvl 5/Jedi Master. 42.6% on the other one. The problem with these tests is that geeks are specialized, and they tend to rate on more of a broad level. I'm a comic/movie/sci-fi geek, so while I could be a total hardcore comic/movie/sci-fi geek, the science/music/electronics questions drag me down.
  11. Yes I don't think it lived up to the hype , a cartoon that was pretty funny was Emperors new Groove though <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Emperor's New Groove was probably in the top 3 best disney films of all time. Anyway, just bought Serenity, still awesome.
  12. From my experience on the beta, its pretty much identical to City of Heroes, only it doesn't take you 3 months to gain a level.
  13. Do you mean Trias' sword? (Which is funny, he is chaotic good himself, IIRC) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah that one. The only gripes I have about the entire game was the lack of swords and the lack of armor. My ex girlfriend absolutely loved the game until she found out you couldn't wear armor.
  14. apparently they got a bunch of people to compare, and it turned out that Wikipedia is almost as accurate as the Encyclopedia Britannica. Dangit, they deleted my entry on Bioweenies.
  15. 12 out of 16 PS2 games I own are Japanese. Didn't count the PS1 games
  16. I was annoyed that that one sword's only restriction was that it was only usable by lawful/good. So I went through the game trying to be lawful/good, only to be rewarded by not being able to use the sword.
  17. The gripe they have about Winnepeg isn't entirely valid. The Winnipeg officials have said that they would build a new pro-hockey arena if it was confirmed a team was moving there. The MTS centre was built as a venue for the Manitoba Moose, as well as being a public multi-use sports centre. If they brought the Pens to Winnepeg they would sell out every game until they built a new arena. Its pretty much a sure bet if they did it, as long as they could get an agreement for a new arena as a condition of the move.
  18. http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=37906&hl= http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=37913&hl= Both started on Nov 3rd. EDIT: Dang, beaten.
  19. The Canadian government at one point was talking about subsidies on pro hockey teams to keep them in Canada. The problem isn't the taxes on the teams, its that they have to pay the players in US funds, while all their revenue is in canadian dollars. Though 5 of the 6 canadian teams were among the 10 profitable teams prior to the lockout, so you'd think that its not that much of an issue.
  20. I heard a rumor a while back of the Penguins moving to Winnepeg. I think the city of Winnepeg even guaranteed a sell out crowd every game until a new arena could be built if they decided to move there. I personally would love to see the Jets come back.
  21. They'll show the trip to earth through flashbacks I believe. It does take place at the beginning of the conflict on earth.
  22. One of my friends was like "oh man, watch arrested development its so good, best show on TV" blah blah blah. So I watch a couple episodes and get back to him and I'm like "Were we watching the same show? That show sucked."
  23. Aren't these two dead? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Post movie they are. But this movie is G1 from the beginning.
  24. Roberto Orci over on the don murphy boards announced that they cut Arcee from the movie. And there was much rejoicing.
  25. One of the writers, John Rogers, does plenty of interacting on his blog. Not so much on the Transformers movie though, although he has mentioned the re-writes sucking up a lot of time. It's very good for anyone interested in screenwriting. Oh, and this post is a must read, it's totally hilarious: Lunch Discussions #145: The Crazification Factor <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Theres a link to my page on his blog under "Canadiana" Since my writing skills are non-existant and my interest in screenwriting is as well, I don't often read his stuff about screenwriting, but his political and cultural rants are awesome.
