Nah, he's just making sure people don't take our ****. I'm actually surprised the first thing Harper did was something I agree with. I figured he'd crucify the gays or something.

Its my favorite show on TV.

Its somewhat connected. It started in an issue of Ultimate Fantastic Four where the zombie Reed Richards showed Ultimate Reed Richards how to build a portal to parallel dimensions so the zombie fantastic four could cross over and eat the ultimate universe. This led to Magneto sacrificing himself to send Reed and the last surviving like 6 humans over to the ultimate universe and destroying the portal. This happened after the zombie FF had already crossed over, but the Ultimate FF made short work of them and now they're being held in some sort of crazy containment thingy and they keep picking on Reed because he knows the only way to make sure his world is safe from them is to destroy them, and he can't do it.

Well, now Pixar has been put in charge of Disney's entire animation division. Which means that hopefully now all of Disney's animated films will have the same quality and soul as the Pixar films. And with Pixar being angry with being blamed for the death of classically animated features, this could mean the people behind The Emperor's New Groove and The Iron Giant might get to do more of their good work. (Yes I know Iron Giant was WB, but Brad Bird left WB to join Pixar, so now he's at Disney.)

http://www.usatoday.com/money/media/2006-0...ar_x.htm?csp=24 If Disney butts out of Pixars business and just lets them do their thing, this could be good for both companies. If they decide they need some of Disney's magic touch... it could be the end of Pixar's reputation of being the only studio to only release good movies. EDIT: Ok, now I actually read the article, and it seems Disney is putting Pixar in control of their entire animation department. Cooool.

The only problem with that is that the major things that made PS:T great were the story and characters, which are the two things Bethesda can't handle.

Most people don't actually want to see the NDP in power, we just want them more powerful. We want them in a position to push their policies, while kept in check by a more fiscally responsible party. They do their best work when they hold the balance of power in a minority government.
-
I'm pretty happy about the results. NDP gained 10 seats, liberals didn't lose as many as expected. My riding and my hometown's riding both elected NDP MPs, even defeating the Tory MP that has ruled in my hometown for the last 7 elections.
-
Yes, but with a coalition government you have a combination of NDP and Liberal votes forming the government. So that would end up being around 47% of the vote forming the government instead of 37% Thats fine with me. I think the NDP would have lost credibility if they did that though.
-
Well, just got back from voting. Its amazing how long some people take to draw an X on their ballot. You'd think they'd have decided who to vote for before they got there. I almost voted for the communist party just because it was there.

Well, the 'Nucks smashed the Habs 6-2. Scored 6 in the first period then took their foot off the gas for the rest of the game. I tuned in 4 minutes into the game and heard the score and laughed. Its nice that they're getting some wins in after that big losing streak. That tends to be what they do though. They kick massive amounts of ass in the beginning of the season, do horrible in the middle, then do well again at the end.

I just hope we have another minority. And if so, maybe the NDP can try to push their Proportional Representation stance. The multi-party first past the post system pretty much invalidates a large portion of votes. For example the progressive vote is generally split amongst the Liberals, NDP, Greens, and Bloc Quebecois which combined with current polls would be around 64% of the vote or so, while the conservatives have 36%. This could potentially lead to a government that only represents the values of a third of the country. As to the making enemies of the US point, we wouldn't be angry with the US if they would just honor the agreements they make. If they don't want to be limited by the treaties they sign, they shouldn't sign the treaties to begin with.

definitely longer pants. In my experience gothish people tend to either wear really baggy pants, or shorts that go below their knees.

haven't bought into the Liberal ad campaign at all. In fact I haven't seen any Liberal ads. No TV. I have no illusions about the NDP being the best party to lead. I vote for them because I know they won't form the government, but I want them to get more seats. Ideally I'd like to see another Liberal minority with the NDP having increased power. My fear of conservatives is mostly due to what I've seen of the modern republicans down south. I know Canadian conservative politicians are a LOT more liberal than the US conservatives, but they're still pretty much opposite of all my social views, and something like half of my economic views. Their support of for profit health care scares me too. After seeing what my girlfriend is going through down there. She was recently sued by a clinic because she couldn't afford the $150 they charged for a misdiagnosis because she was busy trying to pay the $2000 neurologist bill after being diagnosed with MS(they diagnosed her with an Anxiety Attack, her symptoms were that her entire body had been numb for about 4 days and she was too weak to turn a doorknob). She also can't afford the $200 a month for her MS medication. I'd rather pay my high taxes and not have to worry about going bankrupt if I get sick. I just generally disagree with tax cuts. Yipee, I'll save 200 bucks a year on my taxes. That works out to about 8 bucks a paycheck. Put that 200 bucks a person together and that works out to around 4 billion that the government can use to fund schools, hospitals, debt reduction, etc. So disagreeing on tax cuts pretty much kills any possible support I'd have for a conservative government because thats pretty much the only thing they have going for them. Say what you want about the Liberals, but we are the only western nation not running a deficit. And left wing was a bit inaccurate to describe the Liberals, Left of Centre would be more accurate. Anyway, I like Paul Martin. I just think its a shame he inherited the sponsorship scandal.

Well, election day is monday, any Canuckistani posters wanna post their thoughts and such? I'll be voting NDP again, since Jackie boy and his goons were the only ones who did their job in this last term. Harper just whined about the Liberals corruption for 18 months and tried their best to cripple parliament, Paulie and his party did a good job with what they had, but I have no doubt they did a lot of what they did because they had to and not because they chose to. I like the Grits but after 13 years in power they need a bit of a time out. I wouldn't mind a Conservative minority government because the Liberals, Bloc, and NDP, all being left wing parties, wouldn't let anything too radical be passed. A conservative Majority scares me though. I don't want Canada turning into a little midget version of the US.

Heheh, yeah, thats what I thought when I heard the news.

there was another one who was a 4 legged jedi with rhinocerous like feet.

I started liking Jaime in the 3rd book. After he lost his hand and his experiences with Brienne really changed him. Put him on the path to being a good person. Does the book mention anything about Sandor Clegane? They left his fate up in the air at the end of the 3rd book.

I pretty much stuck with the low level jedi robes. The master robes had that stupid curve in the crotch. I eventually just modded my own, but as with Weiser, it just made it too easy. -

Well the way I'd handle it would be either randomly chosen every time you start a new game, with a variable that stores whether or not you've had one of them before so you don't get the same one twice in a row, or have like a story event where you're raised to be a knight or whatever, and the council tells you that they are considering assigning you an apprentice. You can talk to each one and decide which one you'd like. There would be various options on your character's reasoning behind the decision like you feel they'll be a challenge, or you feel you'll just get along better, or you sense great potential, that sort of thing. Doesn't really matter, just allows a bit of roleplaying. Either way if a lot of work goes into the scripting for each individual apprentice that could lead to 6 different ways to play through the game right there. One with each apprentice, dark and light paths. -
I would have watched Global Frequency, but they decided that they should only have one quality show at a time I spose.

I'd be interested in your ideas how to achieve that in a video game. It'd definitely feel more immersive to actually teach rather than just have a few mumbled lines while sitting and then "ding" instant Jedi, but how? Maybe after a few battles you'd get an oppurtunity to 'teach' them a new skill, or something, and after so many, they'd become full Jedi? I dunno...I'm not an idea-person...which is why I'm asking you what yours are. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, at first they would just level up in the "Force Sensitive" class, they would pipe in every now and then about what the party should be doing, and you tell him/her what you think of their opinion and why. After you've guided them for a good 4 or 5 levels, they become a jedi class based on what you've been teaching them. If you've been emphasizing action, then they become a guardian etc. Have them only able to learn force powers that you already have until they reach full jedi status. Realistically any apprentice you take in the game wouldn't reach full jedi status at all, but its just a game. Maybe have a choice of apprentices, and those apprentices will take your teachings a different way. Like one will be resistant and headstrong and more likely to turn to the dark side, while one is humble and more likely to go to the light. -

Yeah, have only one apprentice, and have that relationship a lot more in depth. -
If what happens to FO3 is what it looks like is going to happen, it could possibly be a good game, it will just be a bad Fallout.
