I liked the Earth X, Universe X, Paradise X series. It was a neat take on the future of the marvel universe.

Nice. I need to watch Howard the Duck again. It scared the crap out of me as a kid.
  3. Are they the party that lost in the latest elections? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes. They lost based on the Conservative campaign that the Liberals were untrustworthy and all they did was reward their friends. Then the first thing the Conservatives did was lure a Liberal to their side with a cabinet post and appoint an unelected friend of the party to another cabinet post. They then reversed the low income tax exemptions the Liberals put into place so they could lower the GST by 1% now and another 1% in the next 3 years. Basically saving us 25 cents on a latte. They also reversed the Liberal child care plan which would supply a free public child care system, and instead is giving out 1200 bucks a year for child care, which comes down to something like 25 bucks a week, which is just a fraction of the cost of child care. They also were going to support a US invasion of Iran, but backed out of that after some public backlash. Basically, nothing good has come from their government so far. Go NDP.
  4. a 5th person has entered the Liberal Party leadership running in Canada. Whoo!
  5. Hey, nothin wrong with that. As you said, you WILL be buying it. Just don't pass judgment on the leaked version. I did that with the first Audioslave album... the leaked demos were awful. Final CD version was much better. Same with Frank Black's Honeycomb. Black Sabbath - Supernaut <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The first Audioslave album was good, the 2nd one had one good song, yet the worst song on the CD gets all the radio play. God I hate "Doesn't Remind Me"
  6. Currently Listening To: My filthy pirated copy of the new Tool Album that comes out in a couple weeks that I will be buying.
  7. Oh sure, They all get a birthday thread but I was ignored last month. *Cries... but like... in a manly way* Anyway. Happy B-Day.
  8. It's a decent enough game, but it's not C&C. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Agreed. Part of what made C&C C&C was the storyline and those awesome cinematic briefings. Generals was just a bunch of random missions jammed together.
  9. I think that was A Different World.

Late to the discussion but: BOOOOO SHARKS, knocking my 'Nucks out of the playoffs. Well, they can only blame themselves with our 3 star players doing **** all all season. They should start adding clauses to contracts where if a player doesn't perform reasonably well in comparison to their last season, they get a pay cut. Because Naslund, Bert, and Morrison got those big pay raises because they were some of the top players in the league... yet this season they just didn't perform. And now I'm hearing talk of giving Jovo a big raise, yet he seems to end up injured for half the season all the time.
  11. I think for the most part, metal is more intelligent music, though there are a LOT of really stupid metal bands out there. But the listeners aren't any more intelligent. Also lately it seems like metal is just pop music with heavy guitar. Lyric wise.

I love Invincible. Its a parody of superhero comics, while being one of the best superhero comics out there. I love how Robot has that permanent grin, yet when he's sad his eyes get all droopy.
  13. X-Japan's Art of Life always ends up as one of my choices on this list. Mostly because it manages to be 28 minutes long without being boring.

That reminds me of that one episode of Batman: TAS where Penguin's goons were shooting at the Batmobile and Robin gives Batman this "WTF" look and Batman says "They must be new"

Just want to restate that Frank Quitely sucks.
  16. I wanted to switch to Shockwave, but couldn't find a good avatar. Then I found Dancing Banana Bumblebee so went with that. EDIT: Found one.
  17. If you're going for lightsaber effects and such you're going to need a compositing program not a video editing program. After Effects or Combustion are two of the big players in that category. I think Nuke is a big one too. I've used Combustion and After Effects, and of the two I prefer Combustion.

Kingdom Come was awesome. Mostly due to Alex Ross' art though.
  19. of the above my top 5 would be Planescape Torment Fallout 2 Fallout Baldurs gate 2 w/ TOB Icewind Dale 2 In that order.
  20. That's the spirit! Sad though, I would like a game where I can play as Wolverine. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Xmen Legends and XML2 by Raven.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> On the pc? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't know if XML1 is on the PC, but 2 is.
  21. I work for a Subway too. My old manager was giving me 40 hours a week monday to friday, then she got promoted and the new manager came in and now I'm getting 27 hours a week, but the shifts are different every week. She doesn't schedule enough people then yells at us when we don't get everything done. The assistant manager has already threatened to quit because of it. Luckily she's gone at the beginning of may. I hope that means the new manager will be better.

Try some other stuff by those writers if you liked those. For Garth Ennis try Goddess, its short but pretty good, also, his run on Punisher is probably the best the book has ever been. Reading Preacher, Goddess, and his War Stories stuff made me wish he'd do Punisher, and then BAM, Marvel did the right thing and got him and Steve Dillon(artist on Preacher) to do Punisher. For Warren Ellis check out Global Frequency, and the first 2 trades of The Authority(you might want to check out his run on Stormwatch before you read The Authority though) Basically its Warren Ellis saying "Why the hell do superheroes only react to things after the fact and only fight supervillains and planetary threats?" So he makes them take down dictators, and god, which is in fact a giant alien organism. He is also in the middle of a couple series, Fell, which is a series of one shot detective comics in 16 pages. Its kind of an experiment of his. 16 pages of story, with some extras at the end, like the script for the issue, sketches of character designs, etc. Also, Desolation Jones is something that sounds like it would be similar to Transmet in feel. Its about Jones, an ex MI6 operative turned Private Investigator in Los Angeles, which happens to be kind of a retirement home for ex spooks.

Have you even read Preacher? How can it remind you of Priest other than the name? Priest is a western about a Priest who sold his soul for immortality to fight fallen angels and Preacher is about a former texas Preacher empowered with the word of God searching for God come to earth so he can tell him he's a ****, in the meantime he's being tracked by a secret organization so they can use him as a messiah to bring about armageddon. Nothing is similar except the name.
