  1. There were a whole bunch of references on there. Did you catch the "Maximoff (2)" one? Being Pietro and Wanda, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch to the uninitiated.
  2. Apparently they barely touch on the whole Pheonix thing. She's basically just Super Jean Grey. No omnipotent powers or anything.
  3. Yeah, GM is supplying most of the cars for the film I think. So likely Jazz will be a Vette or new camaro rather than a Porsche, Prime will be a big long nose GMC, etc. It will be lame. Personally, I don't see why they can't just go buy a Bug, take off the logos, and use that. If they buy it, they can do whatever they want with it.

Onslaught reborn yes... fourth I ain't heard crap about... of course it's easy to go crossover crazy when you have 2 writiers pretty much running the show (mark miller, and Bindis.) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Miller is far superior to Bendis. I actually heard they were going to team up for something, which would be cool. Miller is awesome at storylines, while Bendis is awesome at dialogue. Combined they'd be a force to be reckoned with.
  5. Beast Wars isn't that old. They just re-released the toys for the 10th anniversary. Anyway, the TF movie is going downhill fast. There is currently 1 person involved with the film that actually gives a damn about what the fans think. Don Murphy. Though Tom DeSanto is on Don's side on most things. The DiBoneventura **** actually insulted fans on a couple occaisions, and based on whats reported, Spielburg being a fan of G1 was a huge lie. Sin City proved you can be true to the source material and make money. So did Harry Potter 1 and 2. These changes are not needed. They could even have included mass shifting if they wanted to. Just add two lines: Spike: How was Soundwave able to transform into something so small when he's so big in robot form? Prime: Mass shifting is... complicated. I don't really know myself, if Wheeljack were here, he could explain. BAM, they now have until Wheeljack is introduced in a sequal to come up with an explaination. Or they could just not even introduce him and whatever.

Marvel is going crossover crazy. First House of M, then Civil War, then I hear they have Onslaught Reborn coming up as well as a 4th one.
  7. Metacritic had it at 64/100 so far. Which is pretty good. I like Metacritic more than Rotten Tomatoes because their rating system is a little more accurate.

Due to the lack of any other Canadian teams... Lets Go Oilers. (though I'd root for them over the Flames or Leafs any day.)
  9. Ok, so since the last time this was discussed, more news has surfaced, most of it horrible. Here are the bad points: -Bumblebee is a camaro -Bumblebee doesn't talk, instead using various car radio clips to communicate -Megatron is a jet who doesn't show up until the last third of the movie -Soundwave is a boombox who transforms into a 4 1/2 foot tall skinny robot who is killed by a girl. -Optimus has no faceplate, and is possibly not even red. -Devastator is a tank instead of a badass constructicon combiner -The transformers take a backseat to the teenage drama of Sam(Spike's real name) -Decepticons don't talk Ok, now the good. Michael Clark Duncan is in it.
  10. It wouldn't be so bad if they had set it up like MSN where it didn't ding you if the message window was your active window, but the fact that it dings you every time any new text appears, whether its theirs or yours is annoying, but turning it off means you don't notice that anyone sent you a message if you're doing anything else. Also, crappy GUI. ICQ was the best before AOL took it over and bloated the crap out of it to the point that it was unusable.
  11. AIM is the worst IM program out there.
  12. Did you get into an advanced screening?
  13. You don't need HDMI, HDCP is also available in DVI, though I'm not sure if thats on the PS3 or not.
  14. Good news! Apparently X3 doesn't suck! Apparently not good, but not horrible like most were expecting.

  16. Do some research on Blu-Ray, you'll notice it requires a HDMI connection for HD playback. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/4760553.stm If it couldn't play back HD from the blu-ray discs without HDMI how would it be able to display HD at all since all the games will be on blu-ray discs? EDIT: So far what I've gathered, is that Blu-Ray is playable without HDMI, just not at 1080p, which most HDTVs don't even support. You can still play it at 720p or 1080i.
  17. No. HDMI is not required for HD playback. Hence the last 4 years of HD tvs not having HDMI. The core system will be capable of HD.

I need to see if theres a canadian mail order place so I can just subscribe to the titles I read instead of DCPing them every month. Canadian so I don't spend half the price of the comics on shipping. I pretty much just read Ultimate Spider Man, Ultimate X-Men, Ultimate Fantastic Four, The Ultimates, Squadron Supreme, and the IDW Beast Wars series, since they failed at making good TF comics with Infiltration.

  20. Hell, when I went on the class camping trip in grade 7(Was more of a summer camp thing, with cabins and such), my mom made me bring like 3 canteens of water. Turned out that the water supply at the camp was HEAVILY chlorinated. Tasted really bad. So I made a few bucks selling the water my mom made me bring.

  22. I'm still a Winamp guy. Started using it when I first started listening to MP3s. Back when I still used a 2400 baud modem.
  23. I think it's more luck that Smallville got renewed for next season. The show hasn't had good ratings for the last few years. And the WB loves to let go of action shows after five seasons. Apparantley there was a new script given to the actors right before they filmed the season ender. That leads me to believe that the show was on the verge of cancellation. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I thought the ratings were good. Wasn't it 2nd right behind Lost in its timeslot?
  24. I think it will be PS3/XB360 neck and neck while the Revolution kicks back in a comfortable position in 3rd. Not as big of a seller, but making more money because of its lower production cost. The high cost of the PS3 will lower its sales numbers so it doesn't blast ahead of the other two by 10 or 20 million like it did last gen, that combined with its later release should put MS and Sony side by side. And judging by the games I'm seeing this gen, thats how it should be. The number of good games for the PS2 far outshined the Xbox last gen, but they look about equal this time.

I've been reading Stormwatch: Team Achilles lately. Its pretty cool. I like how they have a guy with a seemingly useless superpower, that turns out to actually be useful at some point. Feeling the pain of anyone in a 4 mile radius is a pretty ****ty power for a soldier. I am kinda didsappointed the only characters that get any development are Santini and Tefibi though. I mean one of the team died but they didn't show it, the pain feeling guy just felt it and told everyone that he died, and I was like "What? Which guy is that?" If you haven't developed your characters to the point where you can remember their names by the 10th issue, you're not doing a very good job.
