Huh, did i miss something? There was some sort of kerfuffle in the commons today. A heated discussion between MPs, and Trudeau came to pull one of his guys out of the discussion and accidentally elbowed a female conservative MP in the chest, who had to run away because she was so violated.

The movie came heavily recommended and I was woefully underwhelmed.

Although, to be fair, you're fairly unlikely to get a tangible return on your investment. I'm not with you, are you saying helping others get a better education is not a good investment? I doubt Sadie means she will get a personal benefit, like someone she indirectly helps get educated is going to give her money But an educated and skilled society is one of the requirements to achieve economic transformation, people with jobs contribute towards the tax base and are critical to the basic spending power of any society So this then benefits everyone..so yes its not tangible but its still an expected positive outcome of a progressive society Education is such a long term investment that the likelyhood of feeling the effects of that investment before you hit retirement age is low. I think thats what he means. It depends on you what define as " positive return on education " So for example ( and I'm simplifying these points ) If you contribute towards getting getting 100 people educated at University and these people get jobs they contribute towards the tax base for government. When government allocates yearly budgets to municipalities it now has more money so your region could get more money that the local municipality needs to manage to improve the area. Suddenly the dirt road you use to go to work on everyday that has existed for the last 60 years get tarred and is immediately improved. This is a benefit you could see 6-8 years after the initial investment in the education of others If you help fund a persons costs to study medicine and become a GP and once they qualified they open a clinic in the rural area you live, where there has never been a clinic, this is a benefit you could see 8-10 after the initial investment But if your definition of " positive return on education " is government raising the minimum wage this could take much longer and is much more complex objective to achieve that is influenced by other factors outside of education The economic return is likely to take quite a while, as due to educational inflation, BA's aren't worth as much as they used to be and a lot of those kids are going to be making little more than an uneducated labourer for quite a while. I make around 35k per year as an unskilled labourer, and most university educated people I know don't make much more than that. There is a lot of room to grow, but it takes years of experience, or more education to make much more. I also know in Canada, you can write off much of your tuition on your tax returns. I wasted 20k on a 3d modelling class, and didn't pay taxes for 6 years afterwards (by wasted I mean I did nothing with my training, rather than a dig at the school). In the US much of their income will go towards paying off student debt for years to come, so that income isn't driving any sort of economic activity. Education is essential and shouldn't be neglected, but its an investment in the future.

More than just one of them... One of my favorite things about my first trip to Europe is that every so often I meet a snotty Canadian that considers himself superior to "those stupid Americans," and for some reason these same dudes often have some fixation with feeling "accepted" by Europe, as if Europe is the Kool Kidz Klub that decides what countries are idiots and which ones are the pinnacle of modern society. I ended up at a party with one of these such Canadians, and the thing is Germans in general seem to have a sort of fascinated approach to Americans. I typically get approached with an attitude of "hey I'm sure you're a great person and as a German I have loads of respect for the USA due to how it's helped steer us away from a bad path in the past, but would you mind explaining why some of the modern problems with the USA persist?" Y'know, a very respectful approach where I'm spoken to as if the Germans are certain there's a good, reasonable explanation for all of the ****-ups in the USA and they'd just like to hear an American put it in perspective. So there I am chatting with a group of Germans and a couple other europeans (off the top of my head, two brits, an italian, a french guy and a spaniard) who all want the scoop, and after I've answered most of the questions, the Canadian chimes in and asks "what do you guys think of Canada?" The answer? "We don't." I kept a pretty good pokerface, if I do say so myself, but inside I was thinking "AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA THAT'S RIGHT YOU LITTLE ****, YOU'RE STILL NOT A REAL COUNTRY, ALL YOUR DREAMS ARE DEAD." The only people who give a crap about us in Europe are the Dutch and some of the French. Maybe some Brits because we have the same Queen. I know the Dutch have a decent relationship with Canada because we liberated them and hosted their royal family in WW2.

Definitely looking forward to the border and mid game changes. Right now I'm just hitting "fastest" and watching videos while my tech ticks down. I get the occaisional scripted event chain, which I like, such as the subterranean empire on one of my colonized worlds, and a rogue scientist setting himself up as a god on a primitive world, but its largely waiting if you're not huge into war. Especially with ethics and such being a big part of relations and a 3 embassy limit meaning everyone hates you and you can't get any sort of diplomatic agreements. Hearts of Iron IV up for preorder. I like paradox's pre-order stuff. Usually just cosmetic, and they generally release it to purchase down the road so people who don't pre-order can get it, but people who do get it for free. Current pre-order goodies are music packs for the axis and allies, or if you spring for the deluxe version you get a bunch of unit graphics.

You guys wont believe this but about 15 years ago I also could have worked in the USA but it was a military contract...I always wanted to join the CIA. I had this view of how it was the perfect place for me. I could work independently and bend laws and break them in the name of security of the USA.....I know this is fine as long as its for the safety of your citizens People dont need to know everything...but I didnt apply but I have always admired the CIA, its amazing how they get criticized by so many Americans. No offense to anyone but I would never do that...I see it as unpatriotic Jesus Christ. Most operatives and agents within CIA bend the rules and work they way they do because they have to in order to reach their objectives, not something they take pride in (based on interviews and books by prior agents. Cognitive dissonance and all that taken into account). The fact that you would take some sort of enjoyment out of the methods shows a very sycophant behaviour, usually found in sociopaths. You wouldn't even pass the first vetting as such traits are treated as liabilities, not as assets. Rather i think you would be first in row as a test subject for the following projects: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_MKUltra https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_ARTICHOKE Well as you know I'm 41 and I did do 1 year military service in SA How do you know I wasn't already interrogating people in SA and breaking the rules ..... 41? I figured early 20s.

What people usually think of as the "Canadian" accent is usually just the Maritimer accent, which is an understandable version of the Newfie accent. Eastern Ontario and Montreal tend to have an accent with a bit of a french feel to it, but not that distinct from the Western Canadian accent, and most of Western Canada just sounds like what you hear on the CW, as most of their shows are filmed in Vancouver with local actors. I have never heard another Canadian say aboot. It sounds more like Aboat. http://www.digitaljournal.com/img/2/4/5/4/6/0/i/1/4/8/o/EnglishDialects.jpg North American Dialect map

That's a tellingly specific insult. Of course it originates from the alt-right; heck, it is the alt-right, neatly summarized in less than three lines of text. I really haven't gotten a complete picture of the alt-right. It just seems like a bunch of youtube personalities that are neither conservative or libertanians. My tinfoil-thinking-hat suggests either a honey-pot for easy money or controlled opposition. Sargon of Akkad did a video outlining the general beliefs of the Alt-Right. its pretty long, but there really isn't anything you need to watch so you can just have it on in the background. They are essentially right-wing SJWs.

If she was a state judge she would not survive her next retention vote. If she were a appellate or Supreme Court justice we'd be stuck with her but she will never get a decent table in a DC restaurant after that. There would likely be an investigation and huge scandal about the allegations about her black colleagues all essentially demanding sex from her as well.

To be fair to Polygon, I'm pretty sure that several of their writers are on record saying they hate video games.

Blame Social Justice Warriors for Donald Trump

The fall of the Roman Empire began when they gave citizenship to everyone instead of making people earn it through service to the empire. And last I heard, the only other time in history that had a major feminist movement was during the fall of the Roman empire. Correlation doesn't equal causation and all, but something to think about. -

If it makes you feel better, I left my son's iPad on the roof of the car yesterday, and it shattered into a million pieces. So my life isn't perfect. *shrug* In regards to Fort McMurray, how amazing is it that they were able to evacuate everyone? You can always rebuild homes, and they will, but what a job by everyone in this disaster. We nearly had to evacuate a number of years back for a wildfire that burned 50,000 acres in the hills behind us, and I remember how chaotic it was. We lost firefighters in that one. It's shocking that the only people that have lost their lives in Canada have been from an auto accident, hopefully that is the full count. Trudeau took some heat for not accepting international aid, but it was because we already had as many water bombers as the skies could handle, and we hadn't even sent the military in to help yet. The way the news was going on, I thought the whole city was being wiped out, but I read recently it was only about 15% of the city, so that's good. -
I'm going to make a totally indefensible snap-judgment but I think that any movie that starts with a deathrow convict being abducted for science is off to a terrible start. It's a lazy plot device and it shows a lack of imagination from the creators. Why is the animus some big contraption? They could have just kept it a chair and saved a ****load of money for the bits of the film that are interesting. And why oh why do they have the character making a leap of faith? That's one of the most ridiculous things in the series, he'd better not be landing into a wheelbarrow of hay. The whole thing feels off to me, I predict it's going to be rubbish. Someone on Reddit suggested the animus may be like that as a VR type thing. So while he is reliving the memories he is acting out the actions as well.

My PVR is thanking ABC. Muppets is gone too. Which is a shame, because the soft reboot really improved the show.

It looks like the game. I'm sold.

They aren't really spies, more of a black ops team. May really seems like the only one I would classify as a spy

Started Stellaris with a Molluskoid tentacle faced raced named the Cthulhu. Started as a despotic empire, with the traits intelligent, enduring, and decadent, with the spiritual, martial and collectivist ethics. One of the first star systems I found was Sol, so I conquered the puny humans and made them my slaves. Now I am allied with a spiritual despotic empire of fungus people and am engaged in a war with some democratic bug people, because they blocked my expansion. The number of customization options is fantastic. You can make literally any race you want, especially because adding new portraits was the first modding tutorial they added.

I'm going camping with the rest of my family last week of June, then leaving the kids with my parents for 2 weeks. It is going to be amazing. We might even get the house clean.

I think AAA generally just means high production values. Doesn't need a high budget, just needs to look it.

You wish you could jail people who say something stupid on facebook? Those would be some crowded jails.
