Sorry, that's what goes for cutscenes in HL2. Ie you get locked into an area with some talking going on somewhere.

How do you figure? EVE was pretty bad at the start and certain aspects have actually gotten worse over the last few updates.

Pretty much, Valve is buying up talent, not IPs like certain other companies... Sometimes it's nice to have a polished game with an interesting story rather than just a tech demo with a cool mechanic.

Interesting in gameplay or story? They seem interesting enough to play as, but I was never expecting a super deep story with deep characters for this game. This is more about killing everything that moves, grab loot and kill some more to get even better loot. Story, I was speaking more generally. I'm not particularly keen on DS3.
