  1. I'm finding the show to be lacking lately. Where are the strange goings on? The invisible monsters crashing through the jungle eviscerating people? Now it's people taking their shirts off and punching each other. Next week on Survi.. er, Lost: Jack punches the obnoxious guy! Kate takes her shirt off!
  2. This thread is just freaking ugly. Utterly all over the place, and what logical comments are being made are buried underneath flaming and bickering. Understandable given the day, but I'm closing this thread in hopes of perhaps more constructive threads being made.
  3. I have no predisposed thoughts about your preferences in US politics at all Volourn. The problem here as I see it is that the US desires to enforce it's will on the world, and so the world is going to have an opinion on what happens and will voice it. As I said before, I usually don't care about the politcs of other countries, but the US exterts such a presence on the world that it's impossible to not care. The US may deserve Bush, but the rest of the world does not. I don't think he has any interest in uniting America. His loyalty is to an old-fashioned status quo and to big industry special interests as well as his old-politics government friends.
  4. You mean like the US 2000 election?
  5. Still based on projections. Bush is leading in Ohio though, so the projections are likely pretty accurate. Unfortunately.
  6. Well, there's still a lot of counting to do, but Bush does have a significant lead, as expected I think.
  7. I loved it. Thought it took a really nice look at the concept of the second coming, should such a thing actually happen in today's world.

  9. Yeah, it seemed the "required filler" episode, giving a few necessary details but nothing big. The most interesting part would have been the two backgammon pieces found on the old bodies and a futher connecting of Lock to the island.
  10. Can't forget Justin Sweet .
  11. Also Jude (with Kate Winslet), The Revengers Tragedy (Alex Cox doing Jacobean drama), the TV movie The Second Coming where he plays Christ, Existenz (by David Cronenberg, quite the spiritual sequel to Videodrome), Othello (a modernised update in which he played the Iago character to Eamonn Walker's Othello), 24 Hour Party People (about the Manchester music scene) and a bunch of British television film in general.
  12. The tonsured look really suits you, JE. That's going to be fun to grow back in..
  13. Hmm.. now how could that be? At any rate, I think Eccleston will be nothing short of brilliant as the Doctor. He's a tremendous actor with a great range of abilities. In the promo shot, he looks just like himself, there doesn't really seem to be a costume involved. Which is likely part of the point.
  14. I removed the poll. There is no need for this to be a poll and there are entirely too many polls being made un-necessarily.
  15. The scarf was only with one of the Doctor's, played by Tom Baker (the 4th Doctor, from the late 70's and early 80's). The scarf is by no means a Dr. Who staple.
  16. This is the first released publicity shot for the new Dr. Who series which begins airing in 2005.
  17. Batman always looks like he's going to a fetish party. As for The Thing, in the Fantastic Four movie, he's only just starting to change into the rocky skin, he hasn't made the full transformation yet.
  18. Capes are seriously impractical and interfering no matter what their structure is. Capes are there for the sole purpose of looking cool, and finding fault with the practicality of a cape design is pretty much taking the fun out of it. And I think the cape in this illustration, practical or no, looks cool, which is the whole point. There's nothing practical about superheroes, so I don't expect their costumes to be practical.
  19. That is brilliant. I really like that one a lot, and I agree, it would be nicer to see something like that instead of the rubber suit. I still love the Batmobile though, for Batman Beyond.
  20. Yes, it is the best so far; at least this Batman cowel facilitates head movement, unlike the one in Burton's (and the others..) films. I like the body design; it's got that industrial/tech look which nicely compliments the style of the Batmobile in this film.
  21. I've been really impressed at how The Thing has been handled for the FF film; it's good to know they're not going with CGI. I'm not keen on the Batman costume; the headpiece is way too thick and bulky.
  22. By virtue of the fact that you're visiting a message board relating to certain games, spoilers are inevitable. I don't think you can really expect to not be spoiled while reading forums dedicated to a certain game... Once a game comes out, I think it's possible to structure forums into spoiler and non-spoiler content, but pre-release you take your chances.
  23. That's what I'm here for!
  24. How about steering this back on-topic? Religion certainly is pertinent to the US election, but let's keep the religious discussion here contained to that topic and not religion as a whole.
  25. I wasn't aware that knowing how to link an image was any sort of significant accomplishment... People have been doing it here for ages. Using the IMG button will also show you the necessary code anyways, when it places it into your message. But.. I'm glad you figured it out.
