  1. Probably a good idea, whatever that flag stood for in the past, it just stands for racism. Even absent the connotations of racism, it's a flag celebrating treason. Okay then why does SC keep using it if so many people in the USA think its such a bad idea?
  2. That's some mighty fine logic here, hard to find any arguments. Sarcasm? Perhaps I should have worded that better. "There weren't really any stunning women. Except Morrigan." Better now? I understood your point, you were referring to there attractiveness from a Romance perspective? I have to think any character is attractive to Romance them...like Isabela and Viconia
  3. I find it very difficult to have a reasonable conversation with you when you are so illogical
  4. Ah, sorry if I came off as excessively snarky. I wasn't familiar with the idiom "segway" and one definition I found online was "non sequitur". I tend to insert my big bro sales pitch at every possible chance so I'm used to people lashing out with sarcasm. Wrong thread, bad post on my part
  5. Sorry Volo but I never even hinted at you being responsible for flags being banned....so you have clearly misunderstood my point
  6. No its not clear because you are ignoring context and the personal view, albeit wrong, of some gaming journalists They didn't lie if they felt this was the best year for female representation, you can say they are wrong like that link but you cannot say " they lied " It really shouldn't be such a contentious point..so what if this year was the year of the female character? What does that even translate to?
  7. So sure the industry was sexist just a year ago and today it's "E3 belongs to the ladies we are not giving it back" to quote one journo personality. Except the numbers don't really add up dear snowflakes. /journalism Guys this is where you view concerns me, you guys start to see things like gender equality in a negative light and exaggerate its influence So what if some gaming journalists are using a little hyperbole....they see it as a victory after years of battle around inclusivity in the industry. Let them have there moment in the sun...there is no reason to feel threatened or insecure I
  8. But come on Volo you know some flags and symbols are banned in certain countries, like the swastika. So banning a flag is not without precedent But the way some of the Southerners see it is they had family members who died and sacrificed themselves in the Civil War, so the Confederate flag is a tribute to there legacy. It really can have nothing to do with racism so I do see both sides It's possible that the manifesto isn't his but WHOIS says the domain was registered back in february. Could certainly be the handiwork of *chan trolls (hosted in Russia and registered under a proxy email). Smells funny, but I suppose that's to be expected. I'm still puzzled they haven't taken it down yet. Maybe being hosted overseas makes it difficult to pull the plug. No, I don't find it ironic, random people posting it on *chan illustrates precisely my point. If the mainstream media do what you suggest, people will go elsewhere for the juicy details. And then you'll get YouTube channels making monetised vids out of this stuff. I'm not against it in principle, I just don't see how it could be done. Fair enough. But there's still one level of barrier though. It requires active searching for those who are interested instead of it being broadcasted to millions. Personally I have no issue with this manifesto being in the public domain because then people can see just how dysfunctional this man was...and I am not even talking about the appalling ideological points he raises. Its full of egregious factual mistakes....the guy clearly wasn't very bright So the only people who will read it and think its clever and insightful would already be racist. Its not like it will convince new people to start a race war...surly people can't be that naive? Maybe i am too hungover to tell, but i didn't see any facts, only some personal anecdotes and opinions in the manifesto. Yes thats correct but then why are you worried this manifesto is easily available on the Internet...or did I misunderstand you ?
  9. Yes but we know for a fact that certain flags symbolize something and they get banned for various reasons ....the salient question here is " does the Confederate flag really represent heritage for some people which would make it non-offensive to them" ? I really don't know ?

Personally I am glad you posted it , I normally don't bother to read these types of things but I am glad I did as it reinforced all the reasons I am opposed to what he stands for And I need to discuss this tonight on that radio station I participate in
  12. Probably a good idea, whatever that flag stood for in the past, it just stands for racism. From what I have been reading I doubt South Carolina will take the flag down or permanently remove it. People seem to say it represents heritage and if that's what they really believe it will hard to change there minds ?
  13. What do you guys think about the request to take down the Confederate flag from Charleston due to sensitivity of the whole situation? http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2015/06/take-down-the-confederate-flag-now/396290/
  14. I see its not confirmed that he wrote that manifesto but it seems exactly the type of racist and uninformed diatribe he would believe..so it wouldn't surprise me if it was his garbage I had to force myself to read it
  15. How do you think the media should behave? I think they are reading too much into it Report the shooting as a tragedy, but in low key and in the same vein as when a kid have drowned. Absolutely nothing else. No name of the accused shooter should be released and no coverage of the trial should be done; deny the shooter any celebrity status completely. Okay well the suggestion of the media not making a big deal about this type of event is never going to happen for a variety of reasons, one of the main ones being there are sectors of the USA population that expect the media to make a big deal about it....anything less and I'm sure the media would receive major criticism

  17. O.O Dude, that's just inhumane...
  18. That does me happy but its also just confirms my view that " that Romance sells and should be an intrinsic part of all RPG where you interact with your party ( this wouldn't apply to an action RPG for example ) " Romance really can enhance the RPG journey, I just wish most of you guys accepted and supported this notion
  19. Yeah a party which has public announced that it wants: to force immigrants to stare at naked breats to ban sattelit tv in ghettos to exile an entire family if one member commits a crime (even if it's 3 generations since they moved here) to ban the colour green, since its associated with Islam every citizen in a DNA register. to send Syrian refugees to Kenya all religious holidays to conform to school holidays (which incidentally means every religion here should conform to christian holidays) to publically fund healers at hospitals (yep that new age bull****) 20% of public foods (schools, hospitals etc etc) should by law incluce pork - so muslims can feel extra exluced, for giggles and lulz I guess. to be able to use "Nødret" or a kind of marshal law - bypassing our constitution and parliamentary law - when they have to "deal with muslims". to put a tax on all written english words - to save Danish. to force immigrants to speak Danish in their homes, by law. to force radios to play at least 50% Danish music. to enforce a "minimal sentence" so no matter the context, criminals always get punished. to reintroduce coporal punishment (it's been illegal to beat your kids since 1964) homosexuals should be classified as "unnatural" and "handicapped". When sex marriage was written in to the law their speaker on families said "what's next, should it be legal to marry dogs?" The list goes on and on and on with one more ridiculous proposal after the other.. and it pains me so much that such an biogted party is even allowed to exist, let alone be the second biggest.. ****ing disgrace.. But then again, I'm just being a sore loser so take it with a grain of salt. Holy Smoke dude...that sounds extremely draconian... I'm only laughing because some of those suggestions seem so ludicrous You see many people, like me, admire the Scandinavian system of government as it seems to offer a hybrid of Capitalism and Socialism and even though you have your issues it does seem to work. There are valid reasons why your citizens are constantly in the "Top 5 Happiest countries in the world " ( this obviously includes Norway and Sweden ) So it concerns me that in a country like Denmark you have this seemingly inexplicable rise of a far right party..that could undermine the Danish society that people like me want our own country to emulate Why do you think this party is gaining in popularity? Please be brutally honest in your assessment and any other opinions from others on this topic will be appreciated
  20. I can completely understand your concern, the differences now in how Greece is going to pay back the various loans seems to be ideological and not logical There is a real risk that Greece may leave the EU....either on its own or being forced?
  21. Details? What has you so frustrated, are you saying this hateful party has become the second biggest in Denmark?
  22. I support this man as president. That's the thing about Trump, the Democrats shouldn't have to worry too much about him as he will self-implode....I don't even think his policies will wreck his chances. It will just be his general comments
  23. Why ? Would you find the harm he would do to the USA and its image entertaining?
  24. So many words to express the same sentiment. In further comedy, apparently FO4's presentation was offensive - https://archive.is/bYe1H This comment summarizes my view on the topic " While the dress sequence, for the moment, was meant for shock value, I’m not sure Bethesda’s intention was to be transphobic. They come from a very limited scope, but it’s also necessary to think about the fact that the story takes place in an alternate- 1950’s: a glimpse of what persons of that period imagined the future to be. Although homosexuality did exist in the 1950’s, in no way was it accepted, and thus it wouldn’t be a huge part in *their* future. Other than the opening sequence of this Fallout game, there hasn’t been much of an emphasis on relationships as a whole: it’s about survival, ultimately, as one’s individual person with your dog. As someone who is part of the LGBTQ+ community, and is a huge trans activist, the sequence as a whole was meant to capture the absurd. I don’t think Bethesda would have ever meant it as a personal attack "
