GOG is having a massive sale, and I took a look at what's discounted. didn't even realize they had SWAT 3 and XCom Apocalypse, grabbed them instantly. now I can finally throw away my old discs with these games, that wouldn't work properly on Win 7. thanks, GOG ;D

yeah, judging by that CIA agent's monologues and the cutscenes so far the writing is awful. I just skip them all and try to enjoy the game for its gameplay

as luck would have it, the only game I actually wanted to buy (Medal of Honor: Warfighter) wasn't included in this sale well, I did get that Amalur game I've been wanting to play for a long time.

love the ragdoll when Link falls, game looks really fun. too bad I'll never give Nintendo any money. have to wait until someone gifts me a Switch with this game on it.

I actually liked the DLC for the original SoM where you play as Celebrimbor wielding the ring of power. its missions were rather challenging. this trailer makes me think the whole sequel will be similar to that, at least I hope so

yeah, I knew combat in AoD was its weakest part, so I opted for a non-combat character for my first playthrough. we'll see how it goes.

tried both Banished and AoD. Banished went right over my head, so many options, I keep getting lost in its UI. needs time to get adjusted to. AoD is a bit confusing as well but for different reasons, spend 10 minutes trying to kill the enemy in the tutorial then decided it wasn't worth it and just started a new game. walked around the starting area not being able to find a single character to speak to, got attacked by a bunch of hoodlums but managed to talk my way out of it. I have to say, AoD looks absolutely terrible, and it detracts from my enjoyment considerably. I'll try to get at least 10 hours in before quitting, but it'll be hard...

not really, they didn't deliver on all their promises *they took money for* - key difference. btw, I'm not a backer, I am not upset because I didn't invest anything into it. I'm just amazed people aren't burning InXile's office right now in anger over this. it's mind blowing.

now it's my turn to roll my eyes. since most people here consider video games a product to be consumed. or maybe I just didn't understand what you meant to say. it looked like you were willing to let it slide, because this is just a video game, so a little bit of fraud is perfectly fine.

I'd say the refund alone almost doesn't cut it. imagine paying for a game in Steam and then finding a completely different game in your library. sure, you can get a refund, but it doesn't change the fact that you didn't get the game you had paid for in the first place. I don't follow Torment's development, but if indeed they back pedaled on some of the promises made during the Kickstarter to get initial funding, that's already an alarming situation. I realize that game development is a long process, and things always can and do go wrong, but once a dev makes a promise, he better sell his house before cutting content that's been promised.
