to be honest, I stopped browsing lists on Steam a long time ago, I only ever load Steam's store to see if stuff on my wishlist is on sale. I could see how some people would be annoyed by having too much schlock to go through while looking for something to buy, but with GOG, Humble Bundle, and other online platforms for buying games I don't think anyone really needs Steam or even should use Steam at all (especially since buying from developers directly, even if they give you a Steam key, means Steam doesn't get its usual cut)
-
that's the whole point, I think. since you need this stuff to publish your game on Steam after passing Greenlight, the logical next step is to remove Greenlight altogether, and instead of making people pay 100 dollars for a chance to be offered a publishing deal make people pay for their game to be published.

nobody's forcing us to buy turds on Steam, though. it's already beyond the point of no return in terms of filtering out bad games. at least this way good games will get on Steam a lot faster.

I'm yet to play RE7, so can't comment on that, but I never thought RE games were particularly scary. I played RE2 first, around the time it came out, and I always considered it an arcade shooter with weird controls. I never played RE4 though, people keep saying it's the best in the series, maybe that would scare me, but I really think the whole series is too cheesy to be really scary. RE3 was too action-y, RE5 was a straight up coop shooter. oh, and I didn't get to play any of the spin-offs or remake(s), can't comment on those. actually, come to think of it, of all the RE titles I got to play, I found Code Veronica (which is the real RE 4 in my opinion, not sure why it never got the number to its title) to be the most atmospheric.

terrible trailer... low quality animations, sub-par character models. ugh...

tell me, does it allow typing in Steam's address bar?

for a moment I thought you were talking about Barkley Shut Up And Jam: Gaiden

why is your Steam white?!

the way I see it, the primary goal is to stop people from buying games cheaper. Steam has very positive experiences with setting up region-specific stores on their platform. namely, Steam managed to become huge in Russia by dropping prices significantly for Russian users (my friends in Russia on average pay only one third of the game's price compared to me). so, naturally, Steam doesn't want people from the US or Germany to be able to spoof their IPs and buy games at Russian prices. therefore, games bought in the Russian Steam store are blocked if you try to launch them while having your IP address originate somewhere other than Russia. since the EU has significant disparity in income across its many member-states, I'm sure Valve separates its prices for different regions, implementing the same kind of blocking.

ha! the funny thing is, I also made a Delta operator, only in my case, taking the setting of the game into consideration, I went with Operation Acid Gambit as my reference :D and in-game: -
oh, I expected it to be online-only

didn't bother to read the link, does it mean people can play it online for free? I think there should be measures on the game's servers preventing that from happening regardless, so downloading a pirated version would be useless, unless you wanted to play solo without being able to save player progression

tried For Honor, and what can I say... it's unplayable on mouse+keyboard. to be honest, even Mount & Blade has better combat. the biggest issue is, of course, the stupid stance system. most of the time the game doesn't detect my mouse movements, so my character doesn't change stances accordingly. this means that I cannot block or parry 66% of all incoming attacks I actually see coming, and cannot damage the enemy 33% of the time I actually manage to find a weakness in his defenses. played the game for two hours, mostly duels with AI. only won 1 round (each match consisted of 3 rounds), so, all matches lost - most matches would end in under 1 minute. AI hits so hard, that one combo is enough to finish my character off. there's also the problem of the AI being too good. between the moment they telegraph their attack and the attack connecting only a fraction of a second passes. I am not supehumanly quick, so reacting to them is for me impossible. also, the AI recovers from successful parries A LOT faster than my character is able to attack on a follow-up. I find myself in situations where I can't attack, defend, damage or kill any opponents. to say that it's frustrating is to say nothing. definitely not spending any money on it. maybe next year, after a dozen of balance patches they'll have a free weekend and I'll give it another shot. here's one of the fights: https://youtu.be/aAVGKSr0fvU it may appear that I am not doing anything with my controls. in actuality I am doing a lot, the game just doesn't respond most of the time. am I the only one with these issues?

apparently, there's an Avengers game in the works, developed by Square Enix, Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal. an interesting collaboration...

yeah, I can imagine. I've seen similar photos of soldiers (like this one, probably the most famous): and to add something thematically appropriate: -
only if you're black, apparently

the world is crumbling around us, and she's playing the piano, typical artsy-fartsy personality -
so that's more of a marketing tool than a way to gather feedback... too bad

tried on other stuff, doesn't work either, just doesn't recognize the code EDIT: ok, it finally worked, so indeed it was just a case of Ubisoft being Ubisoft
